Reflections on being understood

Hellooo Divine Souls. I am back from being away and putting the podcast on the backburner. As quiet as I kept it hahahaha I just was doing tew much. Anyways I am back with a brand new episode, this one is about me just fighting to be understood by everyone except for myself. After some reflection I decided enough was enough and it was time to take that power back. I can't be expecting the world to understand me better than I understand myself. So having said all of that I hope you enjoy this episode and recognize some things in yourself. Thank you for listening and I wish you a blessed an beautiful day ✨🤎

The Divine Introspect
To the Divine Feminine Souls that made me who I am

Hello Divine Souls this week I have felt truly inspired by the Divine Feminine Souls that have come before me and have paved the way for me to become who I am. Filled with love and basking in gratitude I recorded this episode.

I am now more aware than ever that I am an ancestor in the making and just like the women before me I am making choices and taking steps. I am being intentional about the steps I am taking, for I know they will affect those who come after me. In this episode I reflect on that and just share some of my thoughts.

How do you feel about being an ancestor living?

Self exploration is not contingent on the validation or acceptance of others

In this episode I share my own personal experience this year with exploring myself as a sensual being. Trigger warning this episode also touches upon the topic of sexual abuse, therefore listen at your own discretion.

In this past year I have taken the time to further question what makes me as a sensual and sexual being. Raised in the church and due to past traumas I didn't always feel that I have the freedom to fully explore these sides of me. Was I handling out of conditioning or trauma? If I wasn't being authentic how could I make the journey back to myself.

Thank you for listening and share this episode with a loved one.

The Divine Introspect
Rediscovering your sensuality after experiencing trauma

In the last episode I spoke with sensuality coach, Taneesha Sijmons, about rediscovering your sensual self. Still taken by this topic I decided to explore and expand a bit more on the matter and invited a Divine Soul to discuss what it means to rediscover your sensual self after experiencing trauma.

What does it mean to return and explore your sensuality after having aspects of you have been taken forcefully or stripped away? How do you grant yourself the grace to return to yourself and pick up the pieces after abuse? And more importantly how do you grant yourself the safety of rediscovering and empowering yourself through your sensual and divine self.

Trigger warning, within this episode I your host @Kwamina__jo talks with today’s guest D about sexual abuse and the aftermath of it. Listeners discretion is advised.

The Divine Introspect
Granting yourself the space to rediscover your sensuality with sensuality coach Taneesha Sijmons

In today's episode I talk with sensuality coach Taneesha Sijmons (@themultifacetedwomxn) about rediscovering your sensual self.

The journey to rediscovering our sensual self asks us then who are we when we are fully present in our bodies? Who would you be if you allowed yourself the space to explore what brings you pleasure? Who would you be if you prioritise your pleasure? And do you even give yourself permission to explore who your sensual self is?

Accompany me while I talk with Taneesha about how we as Divine souls can make the journey back to our sensuality.

Thank you for listening and stay blessed my loves.

Give a Divine YES to your purpose

After making lemonade with the lemons life gave me aka taking a hiatus to get certain things in order and remaining calm in the face of challenges. I, your host @Kwamina Jo am back with a new episode of The Divine Introspect. Today I tackle the topic of saying yes to our Divine purpose or better yet giving a Divine YES to our dreams and passions.

I have taken the time to reflect on what was holding me back from fully embarking on my heart's desires and consequently my God given purpose. If you are like me and feel that you are here to contribute to something larger than yourself, than that idea can oftentimes be quite intimidating and taking the necessary steps to fulfill your purpose can be quite daunting.

In this episode I reflect on how embracing my purpose feels for me and what I am doing in order to set myself up for success. Happy listening and follow @thedivineintrospect on Instagram

Mental Health is Mental Wealth

In this episode I talk about why it is often times harder for black women to access and seek mental health treatment. Systemic and societal barriers can oftentimes make it harder for black women to receive adequate mental health treatment. During the Mental Health Awareness week I wanted to once more shine a light on the issue and encourage my fellow black women to continue advocating for themselves and others when it comes to their mental health.

The Divine Introspect Trailer

Hello Beautiful souls welcome to the Divine introspect podcast. My name is Kwamina Jo and I have had the idea of starting a podcast for a while, to honestly get the answers to questions I had myself and to have more open conversation about everyday topics we women might deal with. I just want to ask uncomfortable questions, I want honest conversations, spaces where women are allowed to ask anything that comes to mind and reflect on their lives. Through talking with friends and women all around I realized we all desire to be more of ourselves, to break away from the limitations we may have internalized or that society has placed on us. We just want to be authentic, we are here for a good time and we will have it!! As a black woman I am all about uplifting the women around me, creating the space for us to be vulnerable, to be soft and to experience joy. This podcast is testament of that, therefore I will tackle topics such as dealing with depression, vocalizing the need for help, learning how to be vulnerable but also topics such as dating, being petty or what the world calls immature haha. By drawing lessons from various personal stories, experiences and reflections. I hope that this also encourages you to look further into yourself and uncover more of you, your essence and the depth of your soul.
