Ep 48 The steps for "tapping" into the subconscious

Have you heard of the idea to choose the thoughts you want to think?   Well that is so true!  But sometimes, we can't always see the thoughts in order to change them. 

Tapping is a powerful tool that helps to calm the body and get into the subconscious thoughts and beliefs.   Our thoughts are like an iceberg: majority of what we think is below the surface where we can't see them.  What we do see is just the tip of the iceberg.  EFT - tapping goes below the surface into the subconscious mind to clear out things that we may be thinking and to reprogram them into more productive and helpful ways of thinking about ourselves and the world around us.   

No, it's not brainwashing.  

Our subconscious controls majority of our emotions and feelings.  By tuning into the doubts, worry, fears, and grievances that come up in our daily lives, we target the subconscious thought controlling that emotion.

We've all experienced the inner meltdown where we might be having just a "very bad, no good day".   Books have referred to this part of us as "The outer child" or the saboteur.    Sometimes, it could be the inner child just asking for a moment of time to reflect and be still. 

And there might be times when we can't sit down -- we have social activities or work to attend to. So how do we stay present with life when our insides are feeling in turmoil?

Core values is a way to bring a deeper understanding to yourself.  As you note your core values, you can begin to see more clearly what's important to you and to assert yourself in that knowing.

Ep. 39 The relationship with the tools and modalities

We all have various outcomes and different journey's of self-discovery and self-awareness.  This process of going inward is going to look different for each of you.   In the first season of The Inward Motion Podcast, I highlight different modalities and tools to help with going inward rather than reaching outside of yourself to people or things that don't serve or bring harmony.  

In this episode, I talk about some of my main modalities for helping to go inward at this time in my life.  I forgot to mention Reiki in this episode but that might be because Reiki runs in the background for me continuously, where I don't put conscious effort into it anymore.  The other modalities and tools I use are there for me in moments of helping me release energy, gain energy, help with balancing my mood, or give me the nutrition and nourishment that I need for myself.

Ep. 38 This is what happened when I gave myself permission to fail.

When we try, we fail. It's inevitable. The only way you can be sure that you don't fail is if you don't try.  

In my opinion, not trying is not an option.  I have made a career out of trying.  I have tried and failed. I have scooped up information, trainings, experiences that have taught me more about myself because I tried.  When I try I get closer to what I want and need for myself.  If I sit back -- if I don't try -- I don't get anywhere. 

I used to think that I scooped up too much or trying all the things at once was wrong.  And If I tried so much and failed, I embodied that failure and thought I was bad.  Eventually, I learned to give myself permission to release the judgment and allow myself to try anything I needed to try.  I indirectly gave myself permission to fail, also. And you know what happened?  I stopped trying so hard and let myself be more present with what I had available to me already.

Ep, 37 How I use essential oils to help balance my emotions

Mental and emotional support are very important to me.  Sometimes that means eating the foods that my body needs, taking a walk in the morning, or meditating before bed.  Every day it means keeping my routine of using natural solutions to support my mood and my body.   I love nature!  And I love the company that captures nature in a bottle.  

doTERRA, which means gifts of the Earth utilizes co-impact sourcing to ensure the farmers receive fair and on time wages, the Earth is taken care of by planting and replanting what is used or harvesting what has already died, and that each bottle is Certified Pure Tested Grade.  AND doTERRA was part of the largest reforestation project of Hawaiian Sandalwood on the Big Island!  

In this episode, I talk about my journey with doTERRA essential oils and how they support my mind, body, and mood.  It's been several years and it's difficult to remember exactly how I supported myself without essential oils.  I know I was definitely less motivated and grasping. I definitely remember feeling hopeless about my business and my health.  

Nowadays, when I'm feeling low energy, I reach for my bottle of peppermint for a pick-me-up where I might have reached for sugar or caffeine in the past. If I'm feeling stressed or uncertain, I go for my bottle of Adaptiv and give myself a movement break to ground and center myself.  Before essential oils, I may have taken naps or turned on Netflix to help cope.

When I first moved to Hawaii in 2016 I didn't have any knowledge about this history or language of Hawaii.  I knew Aloha (hi/bye/love) and Mahalo (thank you).    The word I am speaking about here is one of the first words that I learned during a Kid Yoga Training I attended through Yoga Ed. on Oahu.   Since then, it has become one of my core values and principles in life and in business.

Ep. 35 Sensing inward with trust and tapping

Think of your mind as an iceberg.  What is below the surface is everything in the subconscious or unconscious and everything we see above the surface is your conscious awareness.   The thing about the subconscious mind is that its large and vast. It houses our emotions, memories, and beliefs, including limiting beliefs.   When we don't look at the subconscious or unconscious area of our awareness then we don't know why we respond to the world the way that we do. Or we don't know why we act in certain ways or what part of us is responding.   

Are we responding from hurt? or compassion? Are we acting in defense because it's something we didn't know we believed about ourselves?  Are we reacting to a situation out of a wounding that occurred many years prior but has yet to be resolved?

Limiting beliefs. We all have them. We sometimes know they are there and sometimes uncover new ones.  We don't always know how they are controlling our lives or holding us back.  In this episode, I share about how limiting beliefs are created, the affect they have on our lives, and why we might be hesitant or resistant to clearing them.  

Ever felt a limiting belief so strong and known that you need to clear it and want it gone but not sure how to get there?  Maybe it's not about looking at getting it gone or the "how" of doing so. Maybe it's about looking at the part of you that is resistant to this belief being gone.

Ep. 33 The journey of self-awareness and being present in the body

Whether or not the concept of self-awareness is new to you, I'd like to share with you more about it in this episode.  I talk about the idea of body awareness and why leave our bodies.  Sometimes we experience trauma that forces us out as a protection or safety.  Everyone experiences various levels of trauma in different ways. None of these ways is right or wrong. We can all experience it in our own way.  And we can respond to it in different ways too. 

Being out of our bodies has an impact on our overall well-being and way of living. It can hold us back from our greatest potential in life.  It can hold us back from expressing ourselves fully.

Ep. 32 Healing parts of yourself to become your Whole True Self

If you're not familiar with Parts Work, you can go back to ep 18 where I talk about the book, "No Bad Parts".    In this episode, I share a bit more about my work with the neglected or forgotten parts of us and how we can reclaim them to feel more whole.  When we heal the parts of us, we are able to operate more from a place of authenticity.  

The first step in all of this, of course, is self-awareness.  How do we become self-aware and what is the importance of this?  I'll go into more detail about this topic in the next episode. 

For now, tune into this for a glimpse at healing parts of us that have been wounded throughout our life time based on circumstances and experiences.
