In my final (for now) episode of the Wellness Seeker's Podcast I share some of the valuable things I've learned in my 35 years. I share about caring for and honouring your mind and body in many many ways and I hope that it brings you a bit of enlightenment or tips to carry with you on your wellness journey!
So, all-in-all we did not follow the Fiber Fueled 4 weeks like we wanted but in the end we were happy with how it all played out. I learned new recipes and it pushed me out of my comfort zone and what's even better is it pushed my husband out of his comfort zone! We both want to eat 80% of the time a plant based diet and get more fibre into us! That is a WIN!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sticking around and following along while we stumbled through this journey!
Week 3 was a bust. Life happened and following the plan fell by the wayside. However, as we enter week 4 we are starting to get back on track and that feels good because we have been feeling really good eating this way.
Take aways include prepping. So when life does happen again we have some quick and easy healthy meals and snacks to grab rather than the Delicious Pizza down the street!
We are following @theguthealthmd Dr. B. Fiber Fueled 4 week meal plan from his book Fiber Fueled. To see what we've been eating follow along for one more week @edgewaterwell on IG!
If you've been following along we have been trying to follow the Fiber Fueled 4 weeks meal plan. I have been reflecting on the experience from week to week. Last week was not our best week and we have done some off-roading with the plan but we are gaining some valuable insights and that is truly what I think this whole experience is about for us!
If you're looking for the Quiz I mentioned on What's Killing Your Wellness Routine? You can head here: https://www.edgewaterwellness.ca/quizpage
Week 1 was good but also had many moments of discovery. Mainly that trying something new and learning to live a different way is hard and has really sucky moments. So this is a pep talk for you and me in case you're trying to do something new too!
Follow along @edgewaterwell
Join me as share and reflect on Prep day 1 and actual day 1 of the Fiber Fueled 4 week meal plan by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz.
I am also sharing my journey over on my IG @edgewaterwell if you want to tag along there.
My mantra: I just want to see how good I could feel after following this meal plan. I just want to see if I feel as good as I can!
This episode is meant to be a little reality check and pep talk all in one to help remind you that good things take time.
As New Years resolutions begin to dwindle this time of year it can prompt feelings of defeat or actions of giving up. THIS is the time you need to show up for yourself.
Things worth going for take time and you are worth it!

I had the honour and privilege of interviewing Gina Leyva from Canadian Blood Services on this episode of the podcast. WOW! Wait until you hear her stories!!
Gina shares her personal story with receiving blood and then her experience as a mother with her son Michael. Both stories gave me all the feels.
Gina also answered all of my questions about blood donation as I was preparing for my first donation a few days after the interview. She explained things so well and if I hadn’t booked an appointment I would’ve after talking to her.
Finally, I share my first time blood donation experience!

A short self-compassion meditation to remind yourself to give yourself the compassion you need.
Self-Sabotage is the worst. But self-compassion is the best. Yet, somehow it's harder to say nice things to ourselves then say and do things that derail us from reaching our goals. In this episode I give some examples of how I battle my own self-sabotage and find compassion for myself especially in my darkest moments.
In this episode of the podcast I talk about how organizing your space and stuff feels so good. I also give some times tips on organizing clothes and your digital space and your day! I talk about how I’ve started to use time blocking to help me actually get things done and maybe one day say goodbye to my millions of To Do lists.

This month I am featuring local sport and active lifestyle dietician Cara Kasdorf. Cara is one half of Blueprint Nutrition. Her and her business partner Rosanne Robinson serve Waterloo and Wellington regions. Cara specializes in helping athletes - both high level performance athletes and the athlete within, like me who loves to be able to have a body that functions optimally but who may not be planning to do a triathlon any time soon! In our interview Cara shares her wellness journey story, she explains what it’s like to work with her and she answers some of my burning questions about what to eat before and after a workout and how she serves those with specific diet choices such as plant based diets.
