Marc Rodriguez is the owner of Self Made Training Facility, Dallas TX and has come to be one of my mentors over the last year or so that I have been training my clients out of SMTF! This conversation ebbs and flows from topics of sobriety, goal setting, authentic living, life progressions, and overall living a life of leadership that you can be proud of... its a good one! Listen in and let me know what sticks out to YOU!
If you've ever doubted the POWER OF YOUR MIND, take a listen to this. We have the ability to ALTER our perspective of the world around us by CHOOSING the thoughts we think!
WE ARE GETTING REAL. Today, I am joined by my friend and co-founder of The Sober Experiment to share drunken moments from our past from the sober perspective we have now. I am not gonna lie, part of me is TERRIFIED to share some of these things with y'all, but the thing is: I'm not in the business of hiding weakness to look "stronger," in fact, I think letting the guard down, getting vulnerable and sharing these moments in a REAL WAY is only indicative of growth and evolution. And of THAT, I am damn proud of.
So, maybe you relate to some of these stories...maybe you think they are CRAZY and totally unhinged...maybe you think, "that's it? my stories are so much worse..." but WHATEVER your reaction is in relationship to your own experiences, just know that if you CRAVE CHANGE, your "rock bottom" moment doesn't have to look any certain way; your rock bottom, "I'm going to change" moment can simply be the moment you put down the shovel, stop digging, and start climbing out.
Let us know what you think about today's episode! Send us a DM, share on social, and/or share with a friend who might need it.
Thanks for listening!

Monday doesn't have to ALWAYS be Day 1. The first day of a new month doesn't have to mean "new goals." You don't have to be a "New You" on January 1... instead...you could just be the person who is consistent in how they show up for their goals, day in and day out.
Here are 7 tips that helped me make the switch this year. Let me know what you think.
Destiny Adams is one of my personal training, online programming, and macro nutrition planning clients. We have been working together consistently for just over a year and her progress has been undeniable. So, a lot of people ask, what's the difference between a client that sees changes like DESTINY (50+ lbs down, 27 overall inches lost, PRs in every lift, mental growth, increased self confidence, even career progression) in the time i work with them, and a client who quits and makes excuses?
Take a listen to find out. I love this episode because it gives a voice to someone who's actively DOING THE WORK and on the journey to her best self. Check it out and let us know what you think.

In this episode I share:
-what the heart tug is
-steps to start repairing your connection to your intuition if you don't know what I mean by "heart tugs"
-how to start small in listening to heart tugs
-the importance of self confidence and trust when listening to your gut feelings
-6 REAL THINGS that will come up when you're experiencing a heart tug
-the decision I am making and how I am taking action in THIS heart tug... IN REAL TIME
Hot Take: WHAT THE HELL, HOW IS IT ALREADY 2023?!? This year, my focus phrase is: "Show up for ME" so, here I am, showing up for this podcast, getting uncomfy and sharing some vulnerable stuuuuufff today.
I'm doing a live autopsy on my 2022 year, what does that mean? Well, we do autopsies on the deceased to figure out what caused death, but why don't we do it before we get to that stage? What I mean is self reflection... getting real with ourselves with what's going right, what's going wrong, what we want more of, what we want less of, etc. So that's what I've been focusing on this past week. I encourage y'all to dig deep within yourselves to figure it out for yourself too! Part of that autopsy is looking at lessons learned/takeaways from experiences you've had. So, here are some of mine from the past 365 days:
1 -Evolving is HARD
2- Just because you didn’t achieve the goals you wrote down at the beginning of 2022
doesn’t mean 2022 was a waste
3- relationships take EFFORT
4- being home sick is a blessing
5- there are seasons to life, be okay with the transitions
6- life goes FAST, make the most of what you have in front of you
7- its easy to spend money, but be mindful that money can’t buy happiness
8- its important to have friends who call you out
9- finding yourself also means meeting the dark sides of yourself…
10- Don’t get complacent, its easy to get into bad habits and its hard to
correct them after too much time

Today we are talking about the 7 things that mentally strong people have in common. Of course, there are many things that can be on this ist but I wanted to share the ones that came up for me the most. Mental health has been on my mind because we are moving into wintertime when mental health tends to become a challenge, people get seasonal depression, the days are shorter, it gets colder and we all need a little more to keep us going.
So my hope is that one of these 7 things inspires you to take action in your life.
Uncomfy moments you don’t want to miss:
(5:47) #1: A mentally strong person moves on, they feel their feelings and process them.
(8:46) #2: Mentally strong people embrace change, they adapt, they figure it out.
(12:00) #3: A mentally strong person actively chooses to be happy, they start their day with intention and take action.
(16:19) #4: A mentally strong person is not judgemental
(19:20) #5: A mentally strong person is willing to take risks
(21:42) #6: A mentally strong person celebrates others successes
(23:30) #7: A mentally strong person is confident
