Continue the gentle roller coaster ride with Fareed and raji in the second half of their conversation as they talk about their pleasure explorations, non-normative rhythms and the mixed bag of emotions that comes along with creating archives of their own experiences of pleasure, inspiration and joy. They converse about what archiving pleasure and inspiration stories mean to Utar Chadhav and its many possibilities. They laugh, reminisce and of course talk about movies!

Come join this gentle rollercoaster ride along with fareed and raji as they talk about pleasure and liberation, community and inspiration. They bring in stories from their lives, touching upon intimacy, vulnerability, and how the movies factor into all of this [there's a not-so-secret watch list in their chat! Has a movie stayed with you so long that it inspires you?].
Fareed and Raji celebrate and struggle with the stories about pleasure expressed in places like the movies that shape how they feel joy, how they feel safe, how they connect with themselves and others, and how they find the root (or is it the route?) to their magnetism.

Has this hot weather, humidity and rainy season got you feeling static? Fret not, you are not alone in this feeling. The unpredictable weather and even more uncertain world scenario has us feeling down too. In these trying times, words of inspiration and little pockets of joy mean so much, don’t they? Luckily, we have just the thing for you! We have recently had the privilege of hosting conversation with little bursts of inspirations who inspired us with their sometimes deep, sometimes random, and sometimes uniquely wise words.
Talking to Prabodhi and Sadish has helped us make space for young voices to talk about what gives them pleasure, joy, and inspiration to move about and how they experience life. This reflection has also inspired us to listen to not just the youngsters around us but also the inner child within us.
Sit back, tune in and invite the child within you to ponder upon the simpler things of life and watch as the magic unfolds~

eric and raji met in the summer of 2009 at a party. For raji meeting eric changed the course of their life. eric brought an intentionality that raji always craved for. They started having candid conversations about pleasure and desire. Last year raji asked eric if he would want to record a conversation about pleasure and inspiration the next time they met.
And so in May of 2025, they went camping and recorded this conversation over the course of two days.
What does infusing joy and intentionality in our day to day lives, in our relationships look like? What does the journey look like and what does looking back at our younger selves, teach us and/or remind us about what we have always valued? How do we discern purpose that is imposed on us vs. purpose that grows from learning from experiences and influences we are open to?
Here’s to the joys of loitering and time traveling!
Let us know where this conversation transports you in your own journey. Listen with a friend, and engage with these questions:
Who taught you how to have fun? What is your pleasure lineage? (borrowed from Pleasure Activism by amb).
Something you used to believe about pleasure and desire that doesn’t serve you any more? (borrowed from we are not really strangers XXX)
What does sober joy look like when we are talking about pleasure?

The love for letters, discovering our favourite writers and sharing our collective rage and grief, we have come to realize pleasure is not a linear feeling, nor inspiration a one way street . Listen to Navin in conversation with raji as they talk about how words, poetry and literature inspire us. The conversation loiters into many tangents as घत लाग्दो conversations often do. Intentional गफिने प्रयास as you know UC को लक्ष नै हो। So here’s a conversation for you to engage with. Here’s to the love of tangents and intentional गफ!

Listen to this fun, musical and inspiring conversation between Saru and Suneeta Regmi, senior advocate who has been part of the Utar Chadhav journey from the very very beginning!
Our lives are multi-storied and we are transported to many possibilities of inspiration and pleasure when we come from a place of curiosity and tentativeness. What is revealed then is a knowing of what moves us, what helps us notice the little-little things that makes our life inspiring to reflect upon.
As a facilitator, as a mother, teacher of law and whose comfort space is litigating in court, listen to suneeta share her journey and Saru witnessing and reflecting back in what is a beautiful testament to the pleasure in reliving and learning from each other's experiences.

Often we are told that there is a right time for everything - a time to turn into an adult, a time to understand our sexuality, a time to mature into our desires, a time to figure out ourselves and our bodies, a time to grow up. The society we live in has decided a timeline in our life for when things are appropriate; a chronological timetable to live life the right way.
But what happens when we challenge this notion? When we do not grow into who we are supposed to be right away? When do we take our time to learn our likes and dislikes? When we do not fall into place according to our age? When we want to forge a new path for ourselves?
What happens when some of us do not abide by this unwritten rulebook?
Join us as we contemplate various terminologies, concepts, conversations and phenomenologies from the societal manual of living and how it often crashes on our journey of pleasure and inspiration.

Navigating autistic journey can be tricky. Sometimes there are roundabouts, other times there are days of JOYs. Here we have come up with a map that shows our journey after and during the course of diagnosis and exploration of autism.
During April - Autism Awareness/Acceptance month on year 2024, Meraki Chhen along with Utar Chadhav got together in an attempt to deepen the understanding of Autism in Adulthood. This is our follow-up 2nd episode on autism. What have been some helpful know-hows or resources in your autistic joy-rney?
Listen to Part I here: https://www.utarchadhav.com/Adult-Diagnosis-Part-I
In the 1st part audio of two part series on “Autismका कुराकानी” you will find Meraki Chhen and Utar Chadhav conversing on Neurodiversity and adult diagnosis.
Meraki Chhen is a space for the celebration of nuances of human lived experiences in terrains of gender, sexuality, neurotype and sociocultural pluralism. It aims at furthering discussions and expressions surrounding queerness, adult neurodivergence, asexuality and aromanticism, care and mental health, and embodied indigenous knowledge and practices.
This first part tries to understand what neurodiversity and being diagnosed as autistic as an adult means in the context of Nepal. Content discussed in the episode serves as a snapshot of anthropologically evolving scenarios and understanding of the complexity of human nervous system and human diversity and in no way is synonymous to the medical understanding of Autism and Neurodivergence. Autism is a spectrum and all autistics do not present the same way, this is our attempt at understanding the nuances of the spectrum.
Stay Tuned for the 2nd part which will be about lived experiences from folks.

प्रिय Listeners,
अमिट माया <3
From time to time from our Instagram handle we keep asking, “What are the topic you want to hear from us?” One of the buzzwords we hear every time is #Adulting.
Adulting felt like a topic that we are also questioning time and again. When we started the conversation as part of podcast production, we had no idea where we would land. Hopping from a closed group conversation to asking questions to random people at Basantapur, reading memes to reading children's stories, and asking ourselves what is adulting.
Here we came up with what we felt Adulting is. Listen to our 10th episode "When I grow Up!" now.
Episode art for this episode is by our little friend Akshada, we asked them “What do you want to be when you are an adult?”
Do write to us episode सुन्दा कस्तो अनुभव भयो भनेर।
Love and Gratitude,

Cheers Ep. 9 on air!
In this episode we talk about the role of alcohol in our lives. Whether we drink or are sober, stories about alcohol impact all our lives.
Our intention here was to have a landing space to talk about these stories, some joyful, some funny and some sad. We had a lot of help from our friends in unpacking this topic, listening to each other and coming together to feel the उतारचढाव that often accompanies the journey when talking about alcohol.
Listen with your loved ones and tell us how it felt and let's continue this conversation

“दिन पनि गाह्रो, लिन पनि गाह्रो OR the art of giving/receiving compliments.”
Our quest of finding answers to the above statement led us to loiter on compliments. We are pretty sure this has been a hustle for you as well!
How to give good compliments and how to more importantly gracefully receive and own compliments?
We were curious about these questions at the beginning of this journey to understand more deeply our relationship with compliments. With time many of you joined us in this journey and told us compliments that make you feel happy, joyful, sad, irritated………
Guess we figured it out or did we?
Listen to the episode to find out what makes a compliment reach marginal utility!

“The paper planes in the drawing are to define we belong somewhere. We never know where the paper planes land though sometimes we decide where it should land. We decide and dream our lives to live in a certain way but we never know what comes forth as the time passes by. Everybody keeps running back and forth searching a place where they belong, their home. The paper planes flies to the direction of wind, likewise, human lives moves along with the flow of time - sometimes, uncertain and undecided”, says Yesung while tuning Ep. 7.

On August 12th, you came to listen to the rescuing joy episode. To see a room so fully packed gave us immense joy.
And today we bring you, in your own voices, all the things that give us joy.
Joy भनेको के हो त भन्ने प्रश्न अहिले झन् महत्वपुर्ण भएको छ।
We believe that joy is a form of resistance.
#UtarChadhav #JoyAsResistance #MentalHealthMatters #InSolidarity
This time we are going from “बसी बसाई” to “अनि तपाई के गर्नु हुन्छ?”
This episode is for everybody who has been thinking about how to maintain a work-life balance. We bring a lot of strengths to our work - whether that be our ability to balance differing perspectives, our ability to lead, our ability to see new solutions, our ability to deliver under pressure, our ability to energize those around us, and many many others. Even so, our work identity is only one of multiple identities we inhabit in this world. We have many other selves: as a family member, as a friend, as a citizen, as a member of chosen groups. The world tries to force us to focus on the work self over everything else. What are the ways in which we resist this (sometimes subtle, sometimes not so subtle) demand?
We would love to hear back from you too <3. Write to us, rate us on different platforms, and shower us with comments and voice notes. Have a restful week 🌻🌿🍃🌱💛
Things that give us joy. Little things, big things. Stationery, barbecue, the first flower in spring, beautiful clothes…especially when given by a loved one. Sometimes, things that give us joy get buried in the mountain of things we end up collecting, and we find them one day when cleaning out our space. In our minds as well, things that give us joy get buried among the demands and stresses of daily living - this episode is a call to rescue the joy that lies waiting for us in and around us.
