Sharing about my journey in navigating emotional flashbacks. I reflect on my own process in handling stress, triggers and when flashbacks arise. Exploring what flashbacks look and feel like somatically, and the recovery process.
I talk about the emotions that arise, including shock, sadness, grief and loneliness. Normalizing this part of the process, especially with repressed trauma and abuse. Why we heal in layers and the role that flashbacks play as we develop greater safety in the body. We also explore the role of self-doubt in the process and trusting ourselves as memories surface.

Reminder you are not alone if navigating abuse and it's important to get the support you need along the way. I would not be where I'm at today without others and it's important to find those who are trauma-informed and can help guide and help you heal.
Somatic therapy has been the number one healing modality for me and one I recommend if you are moving through childhood sexual abuse and flashbacks. It allows you to create safety in the body and clear stored trauma at a deeper level than traditional talk therapy.
