TW: Childhood sexual abuse and recovery
Sharing about my journey in navigating emotional flashbacks. I reflect on my own process in handling stress, triggers and when flashbacks arise. Exploring what flashbacks look and feel like somatically, and the recovery process.
I talk about the emotions that arise, including shock, sadness, grief and loneliness. Normalizing this part of the process, especially with repressed trauma and abuse. Why we heal in layers and the role that flashbacks play as we develop greater safety in the body. We also explore the role of self-doubt in the process and trusting ourselves as memories surface.
