When the drug wears off and the weight creeps back, it’s not your body failing. It’s the system failing you — again.
Seems like everyone is either losing weight via Ozempic and the like, or wanting to get a prescription for it to lose weight. Glamorizing becoming thin via nausea like its normal.
Its giving late 90's/early 2000's energy.
Thin is back in, and by any means necessary.
We’re treating the symptom — not the sickness. And the sickness is diet culture.
At the end of the day, losing weight is not going to fix your relationship with your body, and buying into diet culture (which hello this Ozempic to lose weight is diet culture masked), is going to continue to keep you on their hamster wheel of shame, always believing your body is the problem.
If you're feeling some kind of way about everyone seemingly on these drugs, this episode is for you.
XOXO

Healing is not a straight line. Even when you think you've overcome the all or nothing mentality, it strikes again. This week Dani shares her recent experience with prioritizing rest to heal her body over exercising made those intrusive all or nothing thoughts come flooding right back in.
Healing is a journey, and that's why we're here; to normalize it.

This episode discusses how two things can be true at the same time. You can both love your body and want to change it. The difference is that you approach it from a place of love and support as opposed to punishment, shame and guilt.
Dani discusses how believing you either have to be tracking and restricting constantly or YOLO'ing through life eating whatever and doing what you want is still ultimately the ALL OR NOTHING mentality we so desperately are trying to eliminate.
You have permission to want to change your body so you feel as best as you can, that is a form of self-love.

Today's episode we talk about one of my favorite topics BBE baby! Bad Bitch Energy.
If you're read my book, My Body is a Fu$king Masterpiece, you know there's an entire chapter dedicated to BBE.
BBE is an energy, a way of being. It is how we carry our self, the space we take up, and how we demonstrate to others that we are here.....and what?!
BBE is about knowing your worth knowing your value and exuding that amazingness into the world.
We're not playing small friends, and BBE is all about that energy.

May have waited a minute or 5 to launch this episode, but it was in fact the second podcast I had EVER recorded, and the FIRST ever recording with a guest. Just so happened that the first guest was the queen of podcasting herself, miss Jordan D'nelle!
Jordan is a physicians associate, a women's health educator, sexual empowerment and intimacy coach, host of Vaginas, Vibrators and Vulvas Podcast, and just so happens to be one of my closest personal friends.
This episode is special to me for many reasons!
Jordan and I met through one of my dance classes; this class was one I called SASS, it was a twerk fitness class that I created when I was going through my own personal journey in learning to love my body, feel sexy and figure out who I was....just so happened she was on a similar journey, we became fast friends and I'm thankful to this day to call her one of my core group of besties.
We discuss how much confidence in our bodies can impact our sexual experiences and how we can enhance our relationship with our bodies; physically, sexually and mentally to improve not only our sexual encounters, but our own self confidence.
Its time to feel like a Bad Bitch Sex Goddess, instead of a self conscious babe hiding under dark lights and clothes.
This episode is all about empowering our confidence in ourselves first and how that translates to the bedroom.

In this episode we dive into Diet Culture.
What the heck is Diet Culture and how does it impact our confidence, body image and relationships with our body, food and exercise.
I will say again, I am not a conspiracy theorist by any means, I'm simply suggesting that we take a step back and ask who stands to profit off keeping women desperate to make themselves thinner and younger while ensuring they stay
self conscious enough to have them coming back for more?
In the next part we will dive deeper into how we can heal from the effects of diet culture.

Remember, your body is a MF Masterpiece!
This week is such a treat, Dani speaks with one of her besties, Emily Chandler! They met while teaching dance fitness and their friendship was instantaneous. While they both are fitness instructors, they speak about their experiences being an instructor in a plus size body, how that has at times had an impact on their own self esteem, and how it also has felt like their super power in connecting with people.

This episode is especially vulnerable, because it's VERY fresh in my personal journey. Bear with me, I get a bit emotional.
The concept of "faking it 'til you make it" was what initially helped me on my journey to growing confidence, and while I still stand by the fact it can be impactful, I believe we need a different message. "Manifesting it until you are it", perhaps. "Embodying it until you become it." Something more positive.
This episode I speak about how embodying the qualities and traits of who you want to become can ultimately help you grow to hone in on those traits, but also how it can steer you the wrong way. Specifically speaking about growing your self-confidence, when using things to lower our inhibitions-- (like drinking alcohol)--to feel more confident, it can quickly become a problem, and ultimately lead you to becoming even less confident, as is in my case.

Have you ever considered that perhaps the voice that infiltrates your thoughts is not actually you, rather your inner mean girl?
In this episode, Dani discusses how interrupting your brains patterns and naming your inner mean girl, will not only give those false thoughts a voice, but allow you to distinguish what is actually fact and fiction, so you can ultimately feel more at peace inside your mind.
She guides you through reframing your thoughts, so you can take those inner mean girls narratives, acknowledge them, and then reframe them to a more positive, loving thought pattern.

This episode is the intro to Dani Begley and where her journey, and the idea that "My Body is a Fu$king Masterpiece" all began. She shares how since her childhood, she always believed her body was the problem. The reason she wasn't happy, the reason she didn't get the job, the guy, the opportunity, you name it; the reasoning was always the same.
She shares how after spending the majority of her life desperately trying to make her body smaller through any means necessary, she was exhausted of being obsessed over food, exercise, and losing weight. How each failed attempt at an insane diet plan chipped away at her confidence until she no longer felt anything but hatred towards her self.
Following being dumped, and dealing with her dad's Alzheimer's diagnosis, at almost 30 she was starting over and realized she was tired of her own shit. She wanted to feel good about her body. Wanted to feel comfortable and confident and KNOW herself. She wanted to rid her brain of constantly trying to be smaller and take up less space and instead just live.
This death and rebirth journey is ultimately where the idea of "My Body is a Fu$king Masterpiece" was born. In this episode you will understand her goal: to help other women who are sick of living this internal battle and finally feel like their body is a masterpiece.
