This week’s podcast guest Alex Fine has built up a pretty ridiculous CV.
He ticked off American college football player, professional bull rider and personal trainer before turning his hand to acting.
Along the way he’s picked up some wild stories from horse-riding at Paris Fashion Week to misjudged combat lessons, which have all shaped his outlook on training and looking after his mind and body.
Listen for the life story, stay for the legend of Hot Marbles.

Solly McLeod’s filming schedule means he's only had two weeks at home this year.
So why not spend some of that precious down time reminiscing about scythe training, throwing up during his first training session and almost cutting off his thumb the day before an audition?
Solly, Dave and George also discuss what he's learned from being on set with the likes of Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, the mental and physical benefits of dog walks and the importance of realising "we're all winging it".

Ruaridh Mollica joins Dave and George to discuss the journey from getting "absolutely shredded" during his degree to stepping into the world of acting and eventually joining the Marvel Universe.
They cover some pretty big topics including how Ruaridh can't take training seriously, his early drama work in Blackpool tourism adverts and planking for way too long on stage with his Clarkston co-stars Joe Locke and Sophie Melville.
The Scottish actor also explores how the world of acting can sometimes be difficult to navigate and how he makes sure to regularly take stock of his career so that he doesn't get lost in an industry he describes as "a strange place to be a normal human".

Now that we’re into the fourth season of the Before The Lights podcast, it’s been a while since the wheels fully came off during one of our chats but Dee Ahluwalia gave it a good go this week.
We cover some pretty impressive ground from emailing The Rock and passing out in auditions, creating healthy social boundaries on set to help him deliver his best work.
There’s also a chance for Dave to remind Dee that a diet of German Doner Kebabs and Açai bowls isn’t the best prep for a pretty athletic theatre role.

This week we're joined by model and creative strategist Bella Broekman-Tilbury to explore the world of beauty and her work within the family company Charlotte Tilbury.
Dave, Josh and Bella discuss how the industry is continuing to grow and thrive in environments which haven't been it's natural home, like football and motorsport with an ethos of "women backing women".
Along the way Bella explains how this journey has been helped by make-up and fashion's ability to break boundaries and be part of everyone's physical and mental wellness routines.

Join Olivia Cooke, Craig Roberts, Kaya Scodelario, Harris Dickinson and NASCAR legend Jimmie Johnson to take you on a rollercoaster of sporting triumph and failure on and off set.

Welcome back to another special episode of Before the Lights, where we look back on some of our favourite moments from the show over the last four series.
This time, we’re focussing on something we come across a lot in our line of work; injuries on set.
We could have made this episode about three days long but we've cherry-picked stories about wild allergic reactions, rupturing spleens on Holby City and how it's possible to sprain your ankle when you're not even moving from Paapa Essiedu, Sophie Cookson, Jonah Hauer-King and Ed Bluemel.
There are almost 50 episodes to go back through if you any those stories have peaked your interest. We’ll be back with new guests soon.

After three years, almost 50 episodes and more and more people finding our show, we thought it was a good time to take a look back at some of the highlights over the last four series of Before The Lights and uncover some hidden gems you might have missed along the way.
We're starting our dive into the archives with some of incredible, and at times slightly worrying, stories about nightmare auditions with help from a sweaty post-cycle James Norton, the panicked screams of Sacha Dhawan, Izzy Laughland's impromptu dance and a wardrobe mishap for the ages courtesy of Henry Aston.
We'll be back soon with more highlights, but in the meantime if any of these titbits have caught your attention then feel free to take a scroll through our feed for SO many more.

Sometimes we say "this episode covered some serious ground", but this chat with Gwyneth Keyworth (Death Valley, Lost Boys & Fairies) might just have covered the MOST ground, or at least the entirety of Wales.
From her career start iin Aberystwyth to why she's always two minutes late and early (and continuing) ambitions of being a vampire there really is something for everyone in this conversation, including the undead.

A Before The Lights podcast alumni returns as Olivia Cooke joins us for a catch up about life on set and stressful house renovations.
Olivia Cooke makes her second appearance on the podcast for a catch up about life on the set of Game of Thrones spin-off House Of The Dragon, keeping healthy in down time and stressful house renovations.
The British actor discusses her relationship with body image, the challenges of staying physically and mentally fit during rigorous press tours and what happens when “Rihanna comes calling” with a Savage X Fenty modelling job.
She also looks at how the culture of looking after cast and crew on set is “getting much healthier” in the film world with the introductions of roles like intimacy coordinators but that there are still certain elements that need attention to stop actors “hyper-fixating on how we look”.
There is also of COURSE time for Olivia to tell us about stacking it in public, which left her foot looking “like it was pulled out The Thames”.

You might know Siobhán McSweeney from Derry Girls, The Great Pottery Throw Down, Amandaland, Ru Paul's Drag Race or (soon) Traitors Ireland... Basically, she's bloody everywhere and now she's added the Before The Lights podcast to that illustrious list of career highlights.
In this discussion about her time on and off screen Siobhán explores her route to success, being "so proud" of herself after recovering from a life-changing injury and entertainment's role in creating stereotypes of who "is allowed to be in love" on screen.
She tells us about the cast of Derry Girls had "no idea" the show would be such a big success, and absolutely NOTHING about the upcoming series of Traitors Ireland.

Ever wanted to know how to convincingly walk backwards for your role in a Christopher Nolan blockbuster? Of course you have.
Then look no further than our conversation with Tenet, Yesterday and Don't Look Up actor Himesh Patel for that incredibly niche advice and so much more wisdom from a career which started as a teenager in EastEnders.
We discuss his journey from soaps to Hollywood, his hopes that more actors can follow the same route and how it feels to practice being hit by a bus.

We take a detour from our usual world of film and TV to welcome a NASCAR legend (a term he's still getting used to) Jimmie Johnson to the show.
Along the way we discuss how he kept a winning mindset to become one of the sport's all-time greats, life after full-time racing and how an elite American athlete ended up in a gym full of actors in London.
He also talks us through his brief run-in with Hollywood and his work with Will Ferrell on the NASCAR parody Talladega Nights.

This week we welcome British broadcasting legend (our words not his) Greg James to the show to discuss his relationship with health, wrecking balls and not taking life too seriously.
Greg looks back at an early - and continuing - fascination with Micheal Palin which got him into running and how a new-found enjoyment of exercise has helped him in pretty much every aspect of his life.
He also explores his career at Radio One, being honest and open with your audience and his admiration for people like Paul Mescal who make it clear that we can't, and more importantly shouldn't, all look like superheroes.
