What's up ladies, welcome to class! I'm your host, Autumn Paone, here to have real, honest conversations about everything you should have learned in school about the female body but didn’t. From hormones to living cyclically to the stuff no one talks about, I'm breaking it all down so you can understand your body and actually work with it, not against it.

If you’ve ever been told your pain is “just part of being a woman,” that your period problems are “normal,” or that the only solution is yet another round of hormonal birth control when it's failed you time and time again, you’ve been lied to. Let's call out the gaslighting, expose the BS, and expand education on women's health. Educated women = empowered women!

This podcast is for you if you find yourself asking questions such as:

What are the menstrual cycle phases?

What is ovulation?

How do I cycle sync?

What else did they fail to mention in sex-ed and health class?

How do I track my cycle?

Are there non-hormonal birth control options?

What is endometriosis? PCOS? PMDD?

How do I manage my endometriosis pain?

What is hormone imbalance?

Why is women's health so under-researched?

What research does exist for women's health?

So grab your notebooks (or don't, no one's grading you) and get ready for unfiltered convos with amazing guests, fiery rants, and the real education you deserve.

*DISCLAIMERS: I am not a medical professional. Always seek a healthcare professional before implementing any serious lifestyle changes, taking new supplements, and/or engaging in new forms of exercise. Nothing (literally nothing) I say should be taken as medical advice. Do your own research, listen to & trust your body, and advocate for yourself always. I love you <3

A Drug-Free Solution to Rewire Your Pain & Have Better Periods with Amy Gaston from OhmBody

What's up ladies, welcome to class! This week we're joined by Amy Gaston, VP of Strategic Growth at OhmBody.

OhmBody is a wearable device that offers a drug-free solution to women suffering with heavy, painful, and emotionally turbulent cycles. The device uses neurostimulation, a fancy word for activating your nervous system in a way that targets pain and fosters relaxation.

More specifically, OhmBody uses neurostimulation to target the trigeminal nerve and the vagus nerve. By doing so, we can promote healthier, easier menstrual cycles.

This conversation is fantastic: Amy breaks down the science at OhmBody in a very digestible way. We discuss the origins of OhmBody, its whole body approach and the benefits it offers, the importance of having women in the room, how to support the nervous system, and education (or lack thereof) around the female body. We also open up into a broader conversation of women's health, particularly in tech spaces.

Interested in trying OhmBody? Click here to get 10% off your purchase.

Interested in the research behind OhmBody? Here's the study Amy mentioned from Frontiers in Medicine.

FemTech & Feminine Rage: Why Women's Health Data Is So Broken (& What Veronica Kirin Is Doing About It)

What's up ladies, welcome to class! Today we're welcoming Veronica Kirin, founder of Asterisk Women’s Health, a Web3 company working to backfill 500 years of missing women’s non-reproductive health data.

It's no secret that there are enormous gaps in women's health research, but there's also a significant lack of quality data itself. Why? Because it's being collected through the lens of a misogynistic system. Maybe if we just asked the women themselves....

Lucky for us, Veronica's doing just that! Join class today to learn about her company, Asterisk, the new app they're building, how it can improve your conversations with your doctors, how it can forward women's health research, AND how your data is completely safe.

The Health Class She Deserves
Womb Healing & the Powers of Psychedelic Plant Medicine with Leslie Draffin

What's up ladies, welcome to class! Today we are joined by Somatic Practitioner, Psychedelic Microdosing Guide, & Womb Mystic Leslie Draffin.

We talk about sexual shame, generational trauma, religious influence, motherhood, and so much more, and how we can overcome traumas via somatic work, breathwork, and psylocibin work.

Leslie realized she was living entirely in her head, which I think a lot of us high-performing women can relate to. She teaches us that when we pair breath and body work with small amounts of magic mushrooms, we can deepen the connection between mind and body and embrace true healing on a much more profound level.

BUT, Leslie takes it even a step further, and teaches us that cyclical microdosing is the key to optimizing our feminine power. As we all know, the cycle impacts every aspect of our lives. Leslie knew this, and so she thought, why would psylocibin use be any different? Cycling (psycling, if you will) your microdosing frequency based on the phase you're in is what makes Leslie's approach so different from other methods on the market.

Read more about Leslie's Cyclical Microdosing Method and download her free guide here.

The Health Class She Deserves
Sanity Over Ideology: True Holism & How It Can Set You Free with Nicole Lange

What's up ladies, welcome to class!

Today I'm joined by Nicole Lange to explore the intersection of women's health, fertility, and Chinese medicine. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Whether or not you plan on having kids, your fertility is a key indicator of your health. Optimal health and optimal fertility are one in the same.

Nicole talks about holism vs. faux holism, and I love the distinction here! The internet can be useful, but has gotten out of hand in many aspects. A good example is how we've redefined "holism" to mean something woo-woo, when in reality, it's using all of the modalities at your disposal to achieve true healing. More on that in class!

We also discuss cultural influences on women's health, the emotional aspects of fertility, and the need for individualized care. Nicole provides insights on navigating health in a complex world and the importance of understanding one's body and needs. Her useful nursery/kitchen/house/neighborhood analogy allows for powerful reflection on where we put most of our energy...and where we maybe need to reallocate.

Quarter Life Crisis: The Year I Stopped Taking Life So Seriously

From self-advocacy and surgery to breaking through bullsh*t beliefs, 25 was one for the books.

What's up ladies, welcome to class!

Today I'm reflecting on my 25th year, sharing personal growth experiences, health challenges, and the importance of self-advocacy. I discuss my endometriosis diagnosis, the lifestyle changes I made this year, the power of mindset and manifestation, the "not like other girls" trap, and so much more.

Most importantly, I stopped taking life so seriously. Let go of perfectionism; it serves no one.

Overall, I am so incredibly grateful for this life, for anyone who has ever listened to the podcast, and to everyone who has supported me so far. Stay tuned for 26 ✨

Women's Urinary & Bladder Health: A History (EXTRA CREDIT!!!)

What's up ladies, welcome to this week's extra credit class! Today we're talking about the history of women's urinary health as a sister episode to this week's interview with Saoirse Nash.

I explore the historical and contemporary issues surrounding women's urinary and pelvic health, emphasizing the misconceptions about urology, the stigma women face regarding urinary issues, and the gender disparities in medical care.

I also discuss the (forced) sacrifices of Lucy, Betsy, and Anarcha that allowed for major contributions to women's urinary health, but at a very high cost.

I end by reviewing some things that we can do to strengthen our pelvic and urinary health, but definitely listen to my interview with Saoirse Nash for a more in depth convo on preventative care!

UTIs & Pelvic Health: Prevention, Misconceptions, & Full-Body Healing with Saoirse Nash

What's up ladies, welcome to class! This week we're diving into the world of urinary tract infections (UTI) and pelvic and bladder health. I'm joined by Saoirse Nash, Director (Ireland), content contributor, and patient liaison at Live UTI Free Ltd. (LUF), a globally recognized women’s health research and education organization.

We'll be answering the following questions (and more!): What actually causes UTIs? How do you prevent UTIs? What are the biggest misconceptions or myths surrounding UTIs? How do you advocate for yourself when the doctor isn't giving you the care you want?

After struggling with chronic UTIs (plus an infection that wouldn't budge), getting put on a 3 year waiting list (!!), taking her healthcare into her own hands and finding Live UTI Free, and ultimately working with them to advocate for women and better education, Saoirse is beyond qualified to give us all the info!

Women's pelvic and bladder health is an extremely important yet long overlooked issue. The testing, treatment, and education is outdated at best and harmful at worst. I'm so honored to get to unpack some of these issues with Saoirse and contribute to more holistic, comprehensive education in women's health.

Make sure you guys send this to your chronic UTI bestie, because I know we all have at least one ;)

Overcoming Childhood Sexual Abuse, Toxic Beauty Culture, & Problematic Porn with Kristin Louise Duncombe

What's up ladies, welcome to class! Today I'm joined by therapist, author, coach, and absolute pleasure Kristin Louise Duncombe!

TRIGGER WARNING: The episode and following description detail topics that may be triggering or uncomfortable for some individuals, including childhood sexual assault. Use discretion. Links to crisis hotlines can be found below.

Kristen and I begin our discussion with her latest memoir, Object, a powerful read about being habitually sexually assaulted by her father's colleague and how it affected her life for decades. We dive into the disturbing parallels between the current U.S. political climate and her experience with the U.S. government covering for a serial pedophile in the 80s.

We then venture into toxic beauty culture, including raising the oh-so-important question of how men would see the world if we flipped the script. Even more interesting, we end up in the world of pornography: What does porn teach us about sex? What damaging gender roles are reinforced through it? How is the landscape of porn changing?

Kristin's perspective is profound, having the unique experience of dating both before and after the dawn of internet porn and dating apps.

Ultimately, our conversation advocates for a more empowered and informed approach to women's health, consent, and sexuality. While the topics are at times heavy, we have a fun and hopefully inspiring conversation that will leave you with hope and radical confidence.

Reproductive Rights, the Importance of Political Advocacy as a Doctor, & Merging Medicine and Motherhood with Dr. Kristen Cain

What's up ladies, welcome to class! Today I'm joined by Dr. Kristen Cain, a double board-certified OBGYN and fertility physician, reproductive rights advocate, and the number 1 bestselling author of Doctoring Your Life: The Secret to Merging Medicine and Motherhood While Loving Your Life.

In this conversation we're unpacking fertility and in-vitro fertilization (IVF), the unavoidable politics surrounding it, and how women can have it all, but they shouldn't do it all. With over 30 years of experience practicing reproductive endocrinology, balancing family and a busy career, and over a decade of political advocacy for reproductive rights, Dr. Cain shares her perspective, wisdom, and experience.

We also discuss sex education (and how it's actually gone downhill over the last few decades), the importance of fertility for your health and wellness no matter your family plans, and how health insurance has gotten way too powerful.

Women are under attack. Women's health is under attack. Growing anti-woman and anti-reproductive rights attitudes are plaguing the U.S. and costing women their lives. Extremists are calling doctors like Kristen Cain—ones who practice IVF—murderers, despite their entire purpose being the opposite as they help people create life.

It's easy to feel despair in times like these, like nothing you do will help protect reproductive rights, but the hopeful perspective, powerful statistics, and invaluable knowledge shared by Dr. Cain in this episode rekindled my fire. I hope it does for you too!

Reclaim Your Shameless: How to Be an Unf*ckwithable Woman with Emma Lyons

What's up ladies, welcome to class! Today I'm joined by Emma Lyons, a trauma-informed healer and founder of The Trauma Matrix. Emma helps women break up with the shame voice that’s been sabotaging their success, relationships, and visibility for years.

If you've ever wondered how to become a empowered, fully authentic, unf*ckwithable woman, this is the class for you. Emma's work highlights a key misunderstanding when it comes to healing: The "inner narcissist" is not your friend and shame is never a good thing.

Emma shares her journey from recognizing her own inner narcissist to understanding it as a controlling force rather than a protective one. We discuss the historical context of women's shame, the effects of narcissistic family dynamics and societies, and the importance of dismantling these harmful narratives. The conversation emphasizes actionable steps for women to reclaim their power and live authentically, free from the constraints of shame.

Endometriosis Crash Out: My Periods & Pain Post-Surgery

EXTRA CREDIT! I'm here to share my endometriosis updates. If you're new here, make sure you listen to Autumn's Laparoscopy & Official Endometriosis Diagnosis for the full surgery story.

I received endo excision surgery on June 24, 2025. Now, about 6 weeks later, I've gad two (very different) periods. Tune into this episode to hear about my first and second period post-op, the symptoms I had/didn't have, and the reality of living with endometriosis.

I also have a teensy little breakdown in the middle of the episode (hence the title), so you've been warned! Listen to this if you're curious what to expect after endo excision, suspect endometriosis, or simply like listening to me share my story <3

But PLEASE, always keep in mind that endometriosis is a complex, nuanced disease unique to each individual. Thanks to medical misogyny, we have very limited research on it over the past century. To make matters worse, there is still a LOT of misunderstanding around endo as well. It's a privilege to be able to share my story with you, but never forget that it's unlikely my experience is *exactly* like yours. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE ENDO!!!

As always, my door is open. If you have questions or need support, DM me on insta @autumnnmariee or TikTok @autumnmxrxx / girlinpain, or email me at thehealthclassshedeserves@gmail.com.

Midlife Health and Beauty & the Pitfalls of Health Insurance with Dr. Meryl Kahan

What if women could have all of their needs taken care of in one place, from gynecological care to beauty and aesthetics, all in one neat package? That's what makes Dr. Meryl Kahan's practice, SheMD, so special—by combining gynecology, aesthetics, and sexual wellness all in one place with a direct care model, women can both look and feel good (without the hassle of health insurance dictating the level of care).

In this conversation, I sit down with Dr. Meryl Kahan to discuss her journey into gynecology, the pitfalls of modern health insurance, the unique healthcare model she has created at SheMD, and the importance of addressing women's health issues, particularly in menopause.

We highlight the stigma surrounding menopause, the misinformation about hormone replacement therapy, and the challenges posed by the current health insurance system.

Dr. Kahan educates us on the direct care model that prioritizes patient relationships and personalized care, emphasizing the need for women to feel empowered in their health journeys (where they often feel silenced). The intersection of beauty and health is often trivialized, but it's more important than ever to challenge the societal norms about aging and appearance.

Cycle Syncing as a Superpower: How to Approach Cycling so It Doesn't Stress You Out

What's up ladies, welcome to class! I'm Autumn Paone, and today I'm diving into the fascinating world of cycle syncing.

Which is nothing new.

BUT, this episode isn't about how to cycle sync, rather it's about how to know you're doing it well. I know that sounds cheeky but stick with me, because if it stresses you out you're doing it wrong.

Is your approach rooted in rigidity? Masculinity? Or is it a full surrender to the feminine power within you?

If you're telling yourself what you can and can't do throughout the month instead of listening to your body and your intuition, no wonder you feel more stressed than when you started!

In this episode, I share my personal journey with cycle syncing (and falling into the rigidity trap), exploring how it has ultimately helped me find balance and empowerment. Whether you're new to cycle syncing or looking to deepen your practice, this episode offers insights and practical tips to help you on your journey.

Should You Be Cycle Syncing Your Workouts?

Let's see what the research says!

What's up ladies, welcome to class (: Today we're diving into the oh-so debated topic: Cycle syncing workouts.

Should you do it? Should you exercise the same every day? Is it bad to workout while menstruating?

As I'm sure you can imagine, the answer isn't a simple yes or no. Dive into what the research has to say with Autumn as she discusses the nuances of exercise for women in relation to the ovulatory cycle.

Ultimately, the most important thing is to listen to your body!!! Yes, our (balanced) hormones move in the same patterns and this affects everything in our lives, including workouts. HOWEVER, this doesn't manifest the same for every cycling individual. At the end of the day, you're the boss (;

The Health Class She Deserves
