The final episode in this Beyond 1% series focuses on ‘smashing the glass ceiling’. We explore how women can build a career in construction and highlight the challenges and rewards, especially when navigating a predominantly male dominated sector. A diverse workforce isn’t just about gender; it is also about age, ethnicity and culture for example, reflecting the rich diversity of our society. In this episode of the podcast, our three guests, all working within the construction industry, share their perspective and experience of what diversity means to them and how it helps project delivery.
This episode focuses on how women within the construction industry deal with potential gender stereotypes, especially surrounding clients, customers and suppliers; difficult conversations, negotiations and challenging client feedback and even colleagues.
