This is a special episode of the Beyond 1% Podcast, as we speak to Amy Truesdale and Richard Whitehead, two world class athletes who will be representing ParalympicsGB at the upcoming Paralympics in Tokyo.
Sir Robert McAlpine is proud to be an official partner of ParalympicsGB, as part of our ongoing commitment to lead on inclusion and inspire change across our industry and beyond.
Amy is a Taekwondo athlete, heading to her first Paralympic Games, with the sport making its Paralympic debut in Tokyo. She has won multiple Gold and Silver medals at International Para Tae Kwon Do Championships.
Richard is a highly decorated athlete, with multiple gold medals won at Paralympics and Para World Championships. He is heading to his fourth Paralympic games, and has competed in 100 and 200m sprints, as well as having completed multiple marathons.
In this episode our focus is on inclusion. Amy and Richard share their thoughts on the importance of creating an inclusive culture, the changing language around disabilities, and their thoughts about representing their country in Tokyo.
It was truly an honour to have this conversation with Amy and Richard, and we hope to have more conversations around inclusion in the future.
