In this episode, we’re kicking off 2025 with a fresh start by talking about the effects of sugar and why now is the perfect time to reset your body. Many of us indulged in sugary treats over the holidays, but the new year offers an opportunity to regain balance and focus on healthier habits.
We’ll explore what sugar does to your body—causing blood sugar spikes, weight gain, inflammation, and even gut health issues—and discuss how much sugar is too much. Did you know most of us consume far more than the recommended daily limit?
I’ll also introduce my 10-Day Sugar & Flour Detox Program, where we focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods, eliminating added sugars and refined flours, and supporting your body’s natural detox process. Plus, I’ll share inspiring client testimonials that prove just how transformative this journey can be.
Let’s take care of our bodies, reset, and start the year strong. Join me for this episode and begin your path to better health!

So, let me ask you this: how many of you have been told that eating fats will cause your cholesterol to skyrocket, leading to heart disease? Maybe you’ve felt a little guilty drizzling extra olive oil on your salad, or you’ve passed on a perfectly ripe avocado, thinking it was too indulgent. If that’s you, this episode is for you!

Let's talk about what's wrong with sugar and why we must give it up!
What's wrong with sugar? It's a drug that makes us fat (yes, all those low-fat products are riddled with sugar!) especially around the middle, it creates fat around our organs; it increases our risk of heart disease, cancer and diabetes, and it is now known to contribute towards premature aging, and by that, I mean anything from wrinkles to Alzheimer's.
Join one of my sugar detox programs and experience the transformative benefits of a life free from sugar!

Today i want to talk about the damage of constantly fueling.
In modern life, food has become our best friend. We eat to celebrate, to comfort ourselves, to relieve boredom or stress. We are constantly fueling.
We overwhelm our bodies with insulin in 2 ways. Learn the ways we overwhelm our bodies plus hear a story about my client Gisele, who began fasting after struggling with her weight and health. She managed to lose 60 lbs. and feels her best!

Sugar is 8 times as addictive as cocaine. Being addicted to sugar and flour is not an emotional eating disorder, it's actually biological. It is driven by your hormones and neurotransmitters that fuel sugar and carb cravings leading to uncontrollable overeating.
You my friends are here to get a clear path to detox from sugar to break this addictive cycle of not only sugar cravings but also carbs that will rob us of our good health and it only takes 10 days.

Our bodies are like crying babies. The child is crying but it can’t talk, so the mother has to figure out what has disturbed her child. Did it hurt itself, not get enough sleep or wet its diaper? Is it teething or does it have allergies?
The mother goes through a process of elimination until she finds the real problem.
Believe it or not, it's a similar situation with your body. Your body can’t talk, but it can send you messages through discomfort or food cravings that need to be decoded. If we acknowledge and accept our cravings, they will point us towards the foods and lifestyles we need.

People are scale-aholic!
A number on the scale seems to be the determining factor of one's success when it comes to weight loss = weight gain. We are judged or we judge ourselves by a number. But does that number tell you how you are feeling, sleeping, craving, fitting into clothes, how your mood will be today.
As a coach I find myself trying to help clients shift their mindset around the scale and slowly I am succeeding. So, in today's episode i want to give you some pointers on how to weigh yourself and not go crazzzzy!!
Are you weighing yourself daily? That sounds depressing, frustrating and not very motivating. Our weight fluctuates 2 - 4 pounds DAILY so if you're looking to check your progress, doing it daily isn't going to give you a good picture and you're probably going to get pissed off. It's frustrating to be on a healthy kick only to see the scale stall or move in the wrong direction, but if you keep a few things in mind and weigh yourself with consistent variables you'll be a lot happier to step on the scale and you'll get a more accurate picture of your weight.

In order to play this game of "holistic health" and win, you have to change your mindset because:
* Meals don't cook themselves. You cook them.
* Self-care doesn't just happen. You make it a priority to make it happen.
* Time for meditation, yoga or a spinning class doesn't just become available. You intentionally carve out that time.
* Mindfulness doesn't just happen. You cultivate it.
The truth is that the convenient time to take care of yourself never actually comes along. You just decide YOUR moment and when you do, it will be the absolute best time to start making the changes that support YOU.

Paola Henderson born in Ecuador came to Trinidad as a child, not speaking a word of English. Now she considers herself a true Trinidadian, with a family of her own. Her inspiration to health came after her first-born son, was born with a liver disease. Medically they did not see much improvement, but when she found the alternative and focused on her sons’ diet, his health improved tremendously.
Paola felt the need to increase her knowledge and heal her son herself. Paola enrolled in an online program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), out of New York City to become a Health Coach. Not only has she been improving her son’s life, her life and the rest of her family, she is now making this her career as she sees so many people battling with chronic disease, poor eating habits, stress, low energy and unhappy day to day lives. Her focus is on busy women, who struggle with fitting healthier lifestyles into already packed and stressful lives, and on helping others make better food choices from processed, packaged foods to healthy and wholesome options.
