Maternal Mental Health is a term we hear often, but it isn't always just mums that are affected by post natal mental health, it is extremely common for both parents, to feel effects, and have struggles, as a result of the post partum experience.
This week we have the incredible Chelsea Howard joining us, she shares her early postpartum experience, of severe mental health struggles and three months in a mother and baby unit, far from her home. The impact that this time had on her, her husband and also their relationship as a couple and as a family.
Chelsea gives us an insight into the tools she uses daily to support her mental health, what resources supported her and her husband, and not only that, but the recovery journey they are both still on today.
Mental Health is a journey, and we all have mental health, all just as important as the other. So if you feel as though you require some support with your mental health, whether it is during pregnancy, or post partum, we have linked some incredibly supportive resources below.
This is also your reminder; that you are worthy of seeking the support for yourself, at any time, at any stage.
If you would also like to reach out to Chelsea, you can connect with her via Instagram @thehowardsfamilylife – where she shares the highs and lows of motherhood, in a very real, honest and authentic way.
