Quick intro to what you can expect from Series 4 of the Confidence Conversations Podcast.
I'm kicking off the new series of the Confidence Conversations podcast with not one but two fabulous guests - Emma Jenkings and Vanda Varga. Both have joined me before and this time we're chatting together about Core Confidence.
We explore what confidence really means, how it shows up differently for each of us, and how we can build it through daily habits and intentional action.
You’ll hear honest reflections, practical tips, and some brilliant analogies that bring confidence to life in a relatable way.
New for this series is my Quick-Fire Confidence questions for every guest, which are not that quick, but definitely insightful!

In this final episode of the series I wanted to do something different to celebrate all the Confidence Conversations that I've had with guests.
So I asked my guests to send me a question on their topic that I could give answer, a perspective or an opinion on.
According the AI generated show notes this is what's covered….
"The conversation covers themes such as confidence during midlife, the importance of taking action with vision boards, stepping out of comfort zones, the intrinsic link between courage and confidence, the power of reframing, understanding the inner critic, and achieving a flow state in presentations. Each segment provides insights and practical advice for listeners seeking to enhance their confidence and personal growth."
Couldn’t have put it better myself.
I'll be taking a break for a while now before series 4, but remember all the previous episodes are still available to listen to.

"Being curious about neurodiversity will make theworld a better place."
I loved this conversation with Tamzin from The Neurodiversity Academy. In this episode we discuss neurodiversity and confidence, exploring topics such as terminology, the fear of getting it wrong, and the importance of having conversations about neurodiversity.
Tamzin shares her personal experiences with dyslexia, ADHD, and dyspraxia, highlighting the impact these conditions can have on confidence along with the challenges faced by neurodiverse individuals in a neurotypical world.
We explore the concept of neuro-curiosity and how it can lead to a better understanding of ourselves and others. We also touch on the trendiness of neurodiversity and the need for caution when it comes to self-diagnosis and niche coaching.

"Confidence is a state of flow."
I asked Ricky on the podcast because I wanted to explore the differences between male and female confidence.
We did talk about that, as well as covering off so much more, from our shared retail experience, through to the choices we make and reframing negatives experiences.
Ricky shares two tips for building confidence: saying yes and learning how to do it later, and using anchoring techniques like the Circle of Awesomeness to get into a confident state.

Comparison is a big confidence demon and in this episode, I invited the lovely Claire Henley from Cachet Associates to chat about it.
Claire shares her diverse career journey and how she has dealt with comparison in various aspects of her life.

Claire gave me 3 really great tips for managing comparisonitis - give the episode a listen to find out what they are!

"Stepping outside of the comfort zone requires self awareness and the ability to make informed decisions."
After meeting Nikie for coffee one day and having a chat about whether age, experience or knowledge impacted our comfort zones and ultimately our confidence, I asked Nikie to come on the podcast to chat about it.
We covered a lot of ground in this conversation, exploring challenges faced by new managers and the importance of self-awareness in leadership.
We talked about how the understanding your own comfort zone from both positive and negative perspectives can help you to make informed decisions about stepping outside of it.
We visualised an island in the ocean that represented our comfort zone and talked about sharks and dolphins as a way of understanding your comfort zone - you have to listen just for that bit - it's brilliant.
We concluded with thinking about the barriers that people might face in relation to stepping out of the comfort zone.
About Nikie
You might not think early roles in radio, interior design and DIY sound like the most convincing career choices for someone who has since spent almost three decades as a Learning and Development professional, but all three of these roles gave me some great opportunities to learn about people, hone my training, and facilitation skills, and craft my own path in a career I love.
Having gained many professional qualifications and experience in public and private sector L&D roles, I founded Curious Lighthouse Learning Consultancy Ltd in early 2016, where I specialises in increasing competence and confidence in Line Managers and Trainers to enhance their performance, whether they are at the very start of their journey or experienced professionals.
I'm passionate about using creative learning methods which, as well as increasing engagement in the sessions, ensures better retention of information and quicker transfer of skills back into the workplace. (And yes, I do use LEGO® in many of the my sessions!!)

"Women tend to be risk-aware rather than risk-averse, and they make better investors."
Loved this episode with Victoria Shepherd from Fincoco Financial Coaching.
As a Navy veteran, Victoria gained the confidence and the ability to stay calm in high-pressure situations, which has translated into her work as a financial coach.
Financial coaching is about helping individuals understand what they need their money to do for them and aligning their financial goals with their core values.
Our chat about financial literacy especially for women was fascinating. We talk about the financial impact of the menopause as well as discussing how our biases around women as the spenders and men as the earners - even now plays a part in how we perceive money.
What do you think? Are women risk aware or risk averse?
Give it a listen, I'd love to know what you think.

Starting her working life with 7-years serving as an officer in the Royal Navy, Victoria transitioned, via a break to start a family, to build a successful career in the financial services industry. In this conversation, I chat to Noelle Moyler, a women's wellness coach, about menopause and its link to confidence.
Noelle shares her personal experience with menopause and her motivation for specialising in women's health.
We discuss the common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause, as well as the challenges women face in finding the right support and information.
Noelle explains why working with a specialist like herself can be beneficial and highlights the importance of taking a holistic approach to menopause.
We also talk about on impact of menopause on confidence and the need for women to embrace change and be brave during this stage.
Noelle Moyler is a Women’s Wellness Coach, also known as Blueberries and Jellyfish.
There’s a common misconception that a woman’s menopausal years will be miserable. We are conditioned to believe that the only thing ahead of us is hot flushes, weight gain, anxiety and joint pain. But I’m here to bust that myth wide open and reassure you that I can help with menopause symptoms so that you have a genuinely marvellous menopause!
As a 51 year old woman going through peri-menopause herself, and who has spent the last few years educating myself in this huge but neglected area of women's health, I understand that what you previously did in terms of movement and diet needs to adapt during this phase and this is why I created Moyler's Marvellous Menopause.

This series of the Confidence Conversations podcast has been a good one.  The conversations have moved on from what does confidence mean to you to how does it show up in life and in business / work environments.
Over the 10 episodes there were so many great discussions, I think with all of them we could have just kept on talking.  It was so difficult thinking about how to wrap them up and to be able to do them justice.
I decided on a different approach for this the final episode of Series 2:  I asked my guests what question they had for me about confidence.
So this episode is Confidence: With a little help from my podcast friends!
I'm going to take some time to answer each question my podcast friends sent me.  In some you'll hear a clip of the guest as they sent me a voice note with their question and for others I'm going to read their question from email.
Hoping that there will be a tip, trick or something that resonates with you in my answers.
My thanks for this series go to all the guests and to you for downloading, listening, sharing, liking, commenting and sending me messages, I was delighted to have reached 1000 with this series (seriously I had no expectations!)

This episode is a great conversation with Julian Roberts all about confidence and resilience.
I was really keen to explore with Julian the link between the two, because I think there are so many similarities.
Julian's take on resilience isn't about grit and determination of simply carrying on, which he says is a slightly toxic way of going through life.  Resilience is about creating a learning loop, when you get knocked down by something that challenges you, you take the learning from it ready to go again, it's in this learning loop where resilience can be built.
We chat about the difference between courage and confidence and why Julian doesn't want to feel confident in every situation.
We discussed how having a purpose can have a direct impact on your resilience, usually the purpose is always bigger than you and it provides a source of inspiration to energise you when things are tough.
The comfort zone came up in relation to resilience and how we now live in a world of comfort that society has created around us.
Of course at the end Julian gave his 4 top tips for building resilience.
I loved chatting to Julian we covered so much in such a short conversation, give the episode a listen and let me know what you think.
