Welcome to today's episode, which was brought to you by Health Awareness Pioneers Salone. This is The Unspoken Journey, where we explore menstrual hygiene's emotional, physical, and social impacts, with a special focus on Sierra Leonean culture and the African context. In this episode, we will hear stories from two teenagers, one from a poor background and the other from a wealthier background. We will compare their experiences and reflect on how their emotions shaped their understanding of menstruation. Additionally, two women share their stories from their teenage years to adulthood, reflecting on their menstrual journeys and the challenges they continue to face. Through these voices, we hope to highlight the deep emotional impact of menstrual hygiene and why proper education is crucial for every girl, regardless of background.
