    Le Podcast « Microbiote l’enquête intérieure » nous apprend les secrets des microbiotes, ces nouveaux mondes explorés par les scientifiques depuis peu et que nous n’avons pas fini de découvrir. Certes, les microbes ont toujours été là, en nous, partout, et chacun de nous dispose de ses propres écosystèmes de microbes : l'intestin, la peau, le vagin, entre autres, possèdent chacun leur microbiote.

    Mais les microbes ont longtemps été perçus comme un danger et non des alliés. Or, ils nous apportent de l’énergie, nous protègent et régulent nos équilibres comme notre système immunitaire. Leur rôle de chef d’orchestre est si essentiel qu'ils pourraient être impliqués dans certaines maladies : eczéma, allergie, asthme, maladies inflammatoires de l’intestin, diabète, obésité, etc. Ils pourraient même être associés à des troubles neuropsychiques comme les maladies d'Alzheimer, de Parkinson, voire à la dépression. Enfin, c’est un peu plus compliqué…

    Que sait-on exactement du rôle de ces microbiotes ? Est-il vrai que tout se joue à la naissance ? Peut-on agir sur ces écosystèmes microbiens pour aller mieux, via l’alimentation, les probiotiques ou en changeant d'environnement ? Les « greffes fécales » sont-elles les thérapies de demain ? Et peut-on, éthiquement, utiliser les microbiotes d’autres populations, moins perturbés par la vie urbaine ?
