S3E6: How Do You Really Know If You’re Done Having Kids?

You thought you'd just know when your family was complete… but here you are, wondering if you're done—or just done for now.

In this honest, layered conversation, I’m answering the question so many women ask silently:
“How do you really know when you’re done having kids?”

Whether you’re already a mama of two, feeling the tug of another pregnancy but also craving more sleep and autonomy… or you’re not ready to close the door completely, but not sure you can walk through it again either—this episode will help you sort through the noise and tune into what your body, heart, and future self are trying to tell you.

Inside, I share:

  • How I’ve managed my fertility for 13 years without ever using hormonal birth control
  • What my mother-in-law said that sparked this whole conversation (and why it shocked me)
  • The one mindset shift that helps you preserve your options without pressure
  • Why knowing your cycle is everything—whether you’re planning a pregnancy or avoiding one
  • A powerful story of one client who thought she was done… until life cracked her heart wide open

We’ll also cover the truth about vasectomy vs. tubal ligation, the real effectiveness of the Fertility Awareness Method, and what I recommend if you’re not ready to conceive but want to stay in control of your fertility.

This one’s for the woman in the liminal space—still ovulating, but unsure of what’s next.
Your body isn’t confused. It’s asking you to listen.

S3E5: She Thought Progesterone Was the Fix — Until It Wasn’t

You’ve been told your progesterone is low.

Maybe you’re spotting before your period…
Or your luteal phase is shorter than it used to be.
Or maybe you've had a miscarriage, and your doctor prescribed progesterone and sent you on your way.

But deep down, you're still anxious. Because what if your body can’t hold a pregnancy on its own?

In this episode, I’m sharing the heartbreaking story of a client who believed progesterone was the reason she got pregnant — only to miscarry again just a few weeks later.

We’ll explore:

✅ The real reason progesterone may be low — and why supplementing isn’t always the answer
✅ What your cycle is trying to tell you about your fertility and hormone health
✅ How egg quality and luteal phase length are deeply connected to your body’s ability to sustain a pregnancy
✅ Why so many women are doing everything right and still not getting results — and what to do instead
✅ A hopeful client story of progress inside Resilient Motherhood

If you're tired of crossing your fingers every cycle, guessing at your fertile window, and wondering if you're doing enough…

This episode will help you understand why low progesterone is a symptom — not the problem — and how to support your body to feel safe, nourished, and ready for a healthy pregnancy.

Breaking the Cycle: How to Heal Your Mother Wound and Reclaim Your Power as a Future Mother

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the idea of becoming a mother because of the challenging relationship you’ve had with your own? You’re not alone.

Many women struggle with the fear that their own unresolved "mother wound" could hold them back from being the kind of mother they want to be. In this episode, we dive deep into the concept of remothering—what it means, why it’s so important, and how it can transform your journey into motherhood.

If you've ever felt like you’re trying to be something you’ve never seen modeled, or if the thought of holding space for your future children feels daunting, this episode is for you. We’ll explore why so many women today find themselves going “no contact” with their mothers and how this impacts their sense of isolation and longing for a village that supports them. But we’ll also challenge the romanticized idea of "the village" and discuss how true healing begins within yourself.

Join us as we unpack how to break free from the cycle of pain, redefine what it means to be a mother, and learn to mother yourself first. This journey isn’t easy, but it’s the most rewarding work you’ll ever do—both for yourself and for the children you dream of nurturing.

About Nikki:

Nikki is a deeply insightful guide on the journey of remothering, with a rich background in early childhood development, postpartum care, and emotional holding. Before I became a mother myself, Nikki was someone I looked up to as a model for the kind of mother I hoped to become. She held space for me during some of the most emotional and vulnerable moments of my postpartum journey, and in doing so, helped me relearn how to hold space for my own big feelings with compassion and grace.

Her foundation in child development is rooted in formal education and hands-on experience, including training in RIE® (Resources for Infant Educarers) and the Reggio Emilia philosophy. Nikki has also served as a postpartum doula and facilitated mothers' circles—spaces where she supported other women through the raw and beautiful layers of early motherhood.

In her own healing and service to others, Nikki has pursued additional training in trauma and grief work through the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death. She now offers one-on-one sessions that explore the themes of remothering, emotional repair, and holding space for the inner child.

Nikki currently homeschools her two children and continues to explore the evolving archetypes of motherhood in her daily life. Her humility may try to convince you otherwise, but Nikki is truly one of the most thoughtful, critical, and wise voices I’ve encountered on this topic. I’m honored to share her voice with you in this episode.

9. Your first pregnancy is not a trial run
As women, we have been conditioned – through media, medical influence and even through hearing disheartening birth stories – to believe that our entire motherhood journey is left to fate. Our culture has painted a bleak picture of pregnancy, insisting that it's a miserable experience that justifies eating donuts on the couch for 9 months, that labor is excruciating and necessitates anesthetics, postpartum depression is inevitable, and "as long as the baby is healthy" that's all that matters. However, a healthy baby should be the *bare minimum* expectation, and even that is not always guaranteed. Many second-time mothers seek to redeem their previous experience and avoid the same complications and trauma during their second pregnancy. While it's important to prioritize the health of your second child, it's equally important to remember that your first child deserves the same level of care and attention. It's time to break free from these societal norms and take back our power to take control of our motherhood experience. In this episode you’ll learn: Why the cultural norms you hear about surrounding pregnancy, birth and motherhood do not have to be YOUR story What you should expect of your pregnancy, birth and postpartum experiences. What’s *actually* important to focus on when you’re preparing for your birth How you can approach your preconception period so you can enter into motherhood nourished and confident Related Resources: Download my FREE Preconception Checklist!  Register for my FREE Masterclass Unlock Your Fertility: How to Transform Your Habits for Optimal Pregnancy Success! Work with me in my signature online course and coaching, Resilient Motherhood: A self-paced guide to preparing for conception and beyond Blog: Navigating your PCOS Journey: From Diagnosis to Hormone Vitality and Motherhood Blog: Can Morning Sickness Be Prevented?
