What happens when we stop running from our stories and start learning from them? Join myself and Mark Anthony for raw, unfiltered conversations about the moments that shaped us and the courage it takes to move beyond them. Each episode dives deep into the messy middle of transformation, where regret meets resilience and hindsight becomes clarity. Sometimes the breakthrough comes from doing the opposite of what everyone expects leaning into discomfort instead of avoiding it, or finding stillness when the world demands action. Adversity isn't just an obstacle; it's often the very friction that polishes us into who we're meant to become. No sugar-coating, no perfect endings just honest dialogue about what it really takes to let go and move forward. Because sometimes the only way out is through.
Please be sure to leave a comment if you too have had to move past some shame in your life just to see the glory on the other side.

Hey there, welcome back to the Sincerely, Shameless Podcast. I'm Sara J, and today we're diving into three words that can either inspire you or make you want to hide under a blanket - purpose, process, and planning.
If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the pressure to have it all figured out, or if you've been stuck in the cycle of big dreams but no clear path forward, this one's for you. Because here's what I've learned: shame loves to whisper that you should already know your purpose, that you should have a perfect process, and that real people have detailed plans.
But what if that's not how it actually works?
Today, we're going to break down these three intimidating concepts into something much more human and approachable. We'll explore how to discover purpose without the pressure, develop processes that actually fit your life, and create plans that guide you instead of paralyzing you.
Because the truth is, you don't need to have it all mapped out to start moving forward. Sometimes the best thing you can do is take the next right step.

We've talked about choosing wisely and investing in your own healing. Today, we're addressing the energy leak that sabotages both: our obsession with everyone else's story.
You know the drill. You're scrolling through updates, analyzing someone's career move, dissecting their relationship choices, or wondering how they afford that lifestyle. Meanwhile, your own opportunities are sitting right there, waiting for the attention you're giving to strangers and acquaintances.
Here's what we've forgotten: every minute spent mining someone else's business is a minute stolen from building your own. Every mental cycle wasted on their decisions is processing power unavailable for your growth.
The phrase "mind your own business" isn't just about politeness it's about protection. When you're constantly reaching into other people's pockets, checking their progress, comparing their timeline to yours, you're not present for the blessings trying to find you in your own life. Its called pocket watching, and there is no glory in that!
Today we're exploring the hidden cost of curiosity about everyone else's path, why minding your business is actually a superpower, and how to redirect that investigative energy toward the opportunities you're currently missing.
Because your breakthrough isn't hiding in someone else's highlight reel, it's waiting in the work you're not doing while you're busy watching theirs.

Last week we explored choosing wisely among life's options. Today, we're tackling one of the most important and most avoided decisions: the choice to truly heal.
Here's the uncomfortable truth: real healing costs something. It demands time you don't think you have, energy you're already spent, and a willingness to sit with discomfort that our quick-fix culture has trained us to avoid.
We live in a world where every problem supposedly has a shortcut. But deep healing, the kind that actually transforms rather than temporarily soothes, doesn't come with a discount code. It can't be rushed, cheapened, or outsourced to the latest trending technique.
Today we're examining why we keep looking for healing on sale, what happens when we bargain with our own recovery, and how to make peace with the real cost of becoming whole.
Your healing isn't a luxury item waiting for the right price—it's the foundation everything else is built on.

After years away, it feels good to reconnect. If you're new here, you've joined us at the perfect moment; a fresh season, a clean slate, and that familiar question we all face: What now?
Season eight opens where life always seems to find us: standing at the crossroads of possibility. Whether you're staring down career pivots, relationship decisions, or simply wondering which Netflix series deserves your next three hours, the art of choosing well remains one of our most essential skills.
Today we're diving into the beautiful complexity of decision-making not the sanitized, pros-and-cons version you learned in school, but the messy, human reality of navigating uncertainty when the stakes feel real and the path forward isn't clear.
Because here's what we've learned: the quality of our choices shapes the quality of our lives. And in a world that offers infinite options but finite time, learning to choose intentionally isn't just helpful—it's everything.
So grab your coffee, settle in, and let's explore how to move from overwhelm to clarity, one decision at a time.

What if the very thing that's been holding you back is actually the gateway to your greatest breakthrough?
Season Eight of the Sincerely Shameless Podcast is all about dismantling shame, reducing guilt, and stepping into fearless leadership both in your personal life and your professional world. Because here's what we've discovered: the leaders we desperately need aren't the ones who never struggled with shame. They're the ones who learned to move through it.
This season, we're going beyond surface-level confidence tips and diving deep into the real work of transformation. You'll discover how to identify shame's sneaky patterns, develop guilt-free boundaries that actually stick, and cultivate the kind of authentic leadership that changes everything starting with you.
Whether you're leading a team, raising kids, or simply trying to lead your own life with more courage, this season will give you the tools to show up as who you really are, not who you think you should be.
Ready to dismantle what's been dismantling you? Season Eight starts August 7, 2025! Let's do this together.

Frequently, we can get so exhausted with the obstacles of life that we begin to believe the momentary defeat of the day is a lifelong event. And I am here to share with you that that is not the case. However, the only way you will experience something other than what you are feeling now is to do something different. Do something you have never done to experience something you've never experienced. It will take you to create the life that you want to live, the life that you desire is literally right around the corner, but first I wanted to share some pointers on my journey of creating the life I desired. I'll be honest, it wasn't easy and it has not been easy, and truth be told I dont want it to be easy because easy won't get me what I truly desire. Turns out all of the good stuff, the great stuff takes work to gain and work to maintain.
Also, the JOY list is the list of a lifetime when trying to create a life you would love to live. Be sure to create yours. Dont forget, you got this and you deserve to live a life worth joy!

Have you ever just sat down and thought of your dreams and aspirations and looked at your life and realized they are entirely contrary to each other? I know I have, but why is that? If that is the same for you, have you asked yourself why? As I have spent time in therapy, I have realized I have created a mental and emotional life for myself and then looked at my actual life and thought, "gee these do not look the same"? I have assessed and asked, but its all on me. My life doesn't completely embody what it needs to because FEAR has been stopping me. Crazy right?!? This whole time I thought it was everyone else, everything else, every place else but now I have realized its me. So, I now ask you.... What's stopping you?
On this week's podcast, we dive into the primary and secondary emotions and discuss how healing from the secondary level leaves us stuck with the primary level. Instead, it is encouraged that attack our emotions on a primary level and grow from there.
I really hope you enjoy this weeks podcast, and you share it with a friend and a family member.

We have all been here before, but perhaps you didn't have the language to express what it was or where it came from. I know for me, it's been one hit after another and yet, and still, I am expected to operate in high function! Well, life ain't gonna stop lif-ing so its up to us to assess our own stuff and deal with it. So, when the dust settles and the season is preparing to change we must ask ourselves one question: What do I do with all this pain? Good question, on this week's podcast that question is answered.
Per usual, share with a friend!!

Dare to dream? Or has life been lifin' and taking up all the air in the room and suffocating your heart's desires? If so, this week's podcast is exactly what you need... In fact, be sure to listen a few times! On this week's podcast, Sara J talks about speaking and receiving. Its interesting how life has a way of bruising us and causing us to speak less and experience more pain, shame and trauma. As you know 100% of nothing is still nothing, so you may as well speak the life you want in the process of it all. As usual, we would love to hear from you!

On this weeks podcast, Sara J discusses the inevitable reaction we all experience when we get vulnerable. Judgement is one of those really strange, inevitable, human reactions where there is no relatability or connection. So how do we become more vulnerable without risking injury, its impossible because the truth sets some free and others to use your truth to keep themselves in bondage. This week, try sharing something with someone else that you haven't before and see how that feels, trust that acceptance and connection is on the other side.

It's so tough to say, but we are better for it in the long run.. Not only was this podcast hard to do, but admitting that I am not as strong as I led on to be was even more challenging. On this week's episode, Sara J talks through the pain that she has been experiencing while trying to date and meet new people. While this isn't a foreign concept, we all have the tendency to not acknowledge the pain that we have gained in this thing we call life, and while it's not accepted it doesn't allow us to get to the other side. Now, we must be able to say, it hurt my feelings. We can still be wise, strong, and bold while wounded, but not if we cant admit it. Once we do that, we are allowing the power of what took place and what we didn't expect to lose its grip on our hearts. So, on this weeks episode its time we get honest and speak through our pain.
Per usual, share with a friend and be sure to follow the blog for updates.
