[Encore] The Wonder of Trees. A Cheryl M. favorite

I have gotten quite smitten with the recent discoveries about trees. We know that getting into nature is good for our health, mind and soul. But did you know trees release chemicals for their health that are also great for our body? Some are proclaimed to help heal cancer. And the mother tree remains connected to her children, feeds them, and warns them of danger.

Some trees even have a circadian rhythm. Listen in to this interesting subject as I discuss the wonder of trees.

#43 - Toxic Relationships Impact your Health-Part 2

Toxic Relationships impact our health. This is part 2 of a two-part series.

In the second episode in the Toxic Relationship series, we begin with narcissists and how crazy making it is to deal with them. They gaslight their victims into believing that what is wrong in the relationship is you and not their controlling behavior. Mirroring is common, where what they see in themselves is deflected onto you. There is no fixing this relationship. In order to walk away plan ahead so that you can make a clean break.

We talk about domestic violence, which can be different degrees. It can be verbal, or it can be physical. I discuss the healing process once you sever the abuse, and how to take care of yourself.

I briefly talk about energy vampires.

And then I concentrate on healthy relationships. How to find one, why you deserve one, and what it looks like. A healthy relationship depends upon how you view yourself. To find one, create your non negotiable list. You deserve happiness

#41 - Depression Part 4 - Hormones

The information I shared could save you or someone you love from deep depression and/or suicide. So far, in podcast 1 on Depression, I explained the signs to be on the lookout for and the traditional approaches to the issue. Episode 39 looks at food and mood. There are many new findings connecting what we eat is what our gut bacteria eat, and there is a direct line from our gut up our vagus nerve to our 'feel good" hormones, so eating the rainbow takes on a new significance. It is crucial for health and mood. Episode 40 looks at vitamin and mineral deficiencies and how they impact mood, and now this episode {Episode 41, looks at your hormones.

All my suggestions are lifestyle changes so that they won't harm you, but they might make all the difference.

I also have an article posted this morning in Brainz Magazine, an international magazine where I am a noted top 500 contributor. The article sums up the problem of why we are becoming so depressed as a society and the new field of psychonutrition that might make all the difference in the world. If you follow me, then you know that the Standard American Diet of processed and fast foods doesn't give our bodies what they need to stay in balance and be "disease" free.

I have concluded that health is balance. If our bodies are out of balance, we get chronic illnesses. If our moods are out of balance, we get depressed. If we continue to eat the same CRAP (Carbonated, Refined, Artificial, Processed ), we continue to slide down into illness. There should be no stigma for Mental Illness anymore than there is a stigma for chronic illness. There are solutions, so be proactive and own your health even while seeking medical solutions.

You will find my article on depression that just published on my blog

Cherylmhealthmuse.com/blog/ I would love for you to read it and get more in-depth information from my 4 podcasts and the Tell Me Your Story Episode (Episode_50_Tell_Me_Your_Story_Deede_Cai.mp4 ) that kicks off the 5 podcasts. I would love for you to read it and get more in-depth information from my 4 podcasts and my Tell Me Your Story Episode that kicks off the 5 podcasts.

Please share this information with anyone in your life dealing with dark moods, and let them know Rain Doesn't Last Forever. There are solutions, so please reach out.

We have several feel-good hormones, and there are lifestyle changes we can adopt that promote healthy hormone balance.

I talk about all the feel-good hormones and how to maximize them in your body to find balance and health. For example, Seratonin, Dopamine, GABA, Insulin, Oxytocin, and Endorphines are all impacted by the food we eat, exercise, and meditation.

Eating the SAD and all the chemicals in fast and processed food dampers our feel-good hormones.

Suppose you need help breaking the addiction of sugar and chemicals in the diet America eats. In that case, I run a quarterly class with great success on Ditch the Diet and Stop Eating Crap, and I am just beginning a class on Food Quality Matters and how to get the biggest bang for your money from your food.

The purpose of my two classes is to help your body and, therefore, your hormones return to balance.

Please write to me at cherylmhealthmuse@gmail.com to get on my mailing list for more information.

#40 - Depression Part 3 (Vitamins and Minerals for Mood Balance)

Depression This is part 3 of the 4 part series. In this part, I discuss how vitamins and minerals directly influences mood.

Balance in your body is important to find balance in your moods. You control the lifestyle factors that directly impact that balance. In the last show we looked at food and mood, in this show we discuss what vitamins and minerals are important to promote happiness.

In this podcast I discuss the role of Vitamin D and why it works in synergy with Magnesium, all the B vitamins that impact mood and the importance of Vitamin C.

If you want to understand how to get what your moods need that you directly control, I run 2 courses on a quarterly basis. How to break the addiction to the SAD and to CRAP. (The Standard American Diet, and Carbonated, Refined Artificial Processed foods) and eating the rainbow class and one onf why Food Quality Matters to get the most from your food.

#39 Depression Part 2 Food and Mood

Since we have been isolated, depression has skyrocketed. Much of it was a private hell. Sometimes our significant other relationships brought too much closeness and turned hostile. Sometimes it was just the lack of in-person socializing and community. Perhaps all the alone time we each experienced allowed old traumas to surface, or maybe we lost loved ones in the pandemic.

My family was touched by suicide and depression, so this is a subject near and dear to my heart. Unfortunately, I also lost a dear friend in college to suicide.DEPRESSION THIS IS PART 2 OF THE 4-PART SERIES. IN THIS PART, I DISCUSS HOW FOOD DIRECTLY INFLUENCES MOOD.You have heard the saying. You Are What You Eat. In reality, new findings are that you are what your gut microbes eat.If you are feeding the good gut microbes, you are sending a signal right up your vagus nerve to your brain that promotes balance and happiness.

If you are not feeding your good gut bacteria all the wonderful phytonutrients from eating the rainbow from a farm as close to you as possible so that you are getting the maximum nutrition from the fresh whole foods you are eating, then the angry, nasty bacteria rule your gut and rule your brain.A new field of nutritional psychiatry is now emerging on how eating from the "farmacy" can significantly impact mood. Next, I discuss the other lifestyle habits that make a difference in parts 3 and 4. These are lifestyle habits that we can ALL adopt. We control what we put into our mouths; food can make us well or make us sick.Mood and depression, and mental illness should not be things suffered alone. They are signs that your body is out of balance, just like any chronic illness is a sign that your body is out of balance.I wish I had known more about this as a child. Then, I could have perhaps helped the 2 relatives that struggled with depression and who eventually chose suicide.I

f you didn't watch part one, when you go to my link for part 2, listen to the podcast from last week. Please also listen to it. It sets the groundwork for recognizing the signs in yourself or a loved one and seeking help as quickly as possible, whether it's a medical interference or, in the case of past trauma, seeking a therapist. But while you are doing that, adopt the lifestyle changes I outline in parts 2-4 of my podcasts to improve your mood. You can certainly make these changes on your own without anyone's permission. Be proactive. You deserve to live a happy and fulfilled life. The American diet's SAD and CRAP (Standard American Diet and Carbonated Refined Artificial Processed) foods wreak havoc on our moods.
