
Larry DeWitt grew up in a dysfunctional family. Was a juvenile delinquent, an HS dropout, and periodically homeless. He returned to school, ran cross country, and graduated as an honor roll student. He joined the army, went to Germany, and joined the track team. He stayed for 15 years and running led to cycling. He earned 3 degrees, BS in Information Systems, BA in Exercise Physiology, MS in Computer Science. Married and had a son. He moved to Colorado and began mountain bike racing. He switched to Vegan diet-started winning races in the top 10. He won and set an overall course record for the LeadMan competition at 51/Completed the Tour Divide at age 60/Coaching an HS Mountain Bike Team -2 years in a row Colorado Southern Conference Champions. "Coach of the year" One day, while competing in a race, Larry hit a deer and broke his back. After that, the doctors were unsure Larry would ride again.
