We are back with another recipe that is sure to be a hit, especially here in the winter. This is a great dish for leftovers, and it very easy to make. • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 large apple (preferably crisp and sweet)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 4 cups sauerkraut
  • salt and pepper
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 tsp juniper berries (optional)
  • Smoked sausage (bratwurst, kielbasa, ex)

If you want something to eat with it, you can make a mustard sauce with

  • 1/2 cup stone ground mustard
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
