With a career spanning decades, chef Mokgadi Itsweng is a respected food Entrepreneur, Writer and Editor, Best selling author, Food Activist, Creative Director and head chef for Lotsha Foods as well a member of The Chef’s Manifesto. She has also served as one of the judges for the prestigious Eat Out restaurant awards. She has been Food editor for some of the most renouned SA magazine titles; True Love magazine, Afropolitan and Destiny Magazine. Her cookbook Vegelicious is a delectable guide for the African vegan/vegetarian. The success of this book has led to a first of its kind collaboration with the restaurant chain Mugg and Bean to add some of her dishes to their nationwide menu and has led to her opening her pop up restaurant at the Dubai Alkebulan food hall. Having lived in various countries aboard for over a decade, Katleho returned home to SA to feed her big appetite for entrepreneurship. This resulted in her founding and managing Bliss, a boutique restaurant in JHB which she ran for 3 years. Katleho is intrigued by women entrepreneurs and is an advocate for conscious business. She is currently the founder of Hosted, a deeply personal project that exists to amplify the creativity, experience and expertise of black women in food, design and hospitality and the art of gathering. Her passion is to elevate and empower women creators working in the food space.
Today we chat to Paul Maciel, known as The Secret Jozi Chef, he has been in the food industry for over 20 years, having founded the award winning restaurant Pronto, before moving on to create The Cookery, the much loved social cooking based in Joburg. At The Cookery he hosts team buildings and a variety of social cooking experiences in the professional kitchen with a home kitchen feel.

Today I have the pleasure of a sit down with Arthur Ramoroka, Corporate Nutritionist at Tiger Brands, making him one of SA’s leading voices in food, nutrition, and health. He is passionate about evidence-based nutrition and translating the science of nutrition into simple, practical lifestyle messages that inspire people to lead healthier lives. He holds a Bsc in dietetics and a Master of Science degree in Food science and Innovation from Manchester Metro University, UK. He is a registered dietitian with HPCSA. He is a creative in the kitchen passionate about simple wholesome cooking and balanced eating. Anna created an African Cuisine syllabus for the Prue Leith Culinary Institute and through her work at Harvesting Heritage mobilises research, resources and relationships to promote African heritage ingredients, recipes and culture. She had been awarded a South African Sustainable Seafood (SASSI) Journalist of the Year award, Food X Fresh Voices women in media award and a Galliova food writer of the year. She is currently working as historical food advisor on Shaka Ilembe, season 2 for The Bomb Productions.
