Anna Trapido is a trained chef and anthropologist passionate about preserving and documenting culture, tradition and culture using food as a medium. She is a renowned food writer and author and has won numerous World Gourmand Cookbook Awards.

Anna created an African Cuisine syllabus for the Prue Leith Culinary Institute and through her work at Harvesting Heritage mobilises research, resources and relationships to promote African heritage ingredients, recipes and culture. She had been awarded a South African Sustainable Seafood (SASSI) Journalist of the Year award, Food X Fresh Voices women in media award and a Galliova food writer of the year. She is currently working as historical food advisor on Shaka Ilembe, season 2 for The Bomb Productions.
