My Yoga Journey – From Skeptic to Soulful Practice

In this episode of The Mystic Feminine Fertility Podcast, I share my personal journey with yoga—how it started, how it evolved, and how it continues to shape my life.

From my first yoga class in sixth grade to reluctantly practicing meditation as part of my high school volleyball training, I initially thought yoga was lame. But over time, my perspective shifted. In college, I rediscovered yoga as a fitness tool, and that path eventually led me to the Soulwork Jungle Ashram in Costa Rica, where I completed my 200-hour teacher training and fell in love with the philosophy behind the practice.

My journey didn’t stop there—I traveled and taught yoga worldwide before deepening my studies at Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in India. Now, I teach and live in Raleigh, where I get to share what I’ve learned in new and meaningful ways.

Yoga has been a constant in my life, unfolding in unexpected ways, and I’m forever grateful for its wisdom. Tune in to hear my full story and reflect on how yoga has shaped your own path.

The Mystic Feminine Fertility Podcast
Stress, Fertility & the Power of Resilience

In this solo episode, we explore the connection between stress and fertility, unpacking the science behind how chronic stress can disrupt hormone balance and impact cycle health. A key player here is the "pregnenolone steal"—a phenomenon where your body, in response to stress, diverts pregnenolone (a precursor hormone) away from reproductive hormones and toward cortisol production. This redirection can lead to hormone imbalances, disrupted ovulation, and difficulties with fertility.

We'll go beyond simple stress-reduction tips to discuss how building resilience can help your body manage stress more effectively, creating a stable foundation for hormone health. With actionable guidance on everything from nervous system regulation and hormone-supportive nutrition to cyclical tracking and mind-body practices, you’ll learn how to nurture your body’s natural rhythms.

For those looking to deepen their journey, Mystic Cycles Sisterhood offers a robust resources hub filled with tools, guides, and educational content to support you in developing a sustainable and empowered approach to fertility and cycle health. Endometriosis: From Misunderstood to Managed with Morganne Skinner

In this episode we discuss

  • Morganne’s journey
  • Common misconceptions about Endometriosis
  • The difference between excision & ablation
  • Fertility & Endometriosis
  • How to live an anti-inflammatory lifestyle
  • What to do when you suspect you have Endometriosis
  • How to get the proper support for your physical, mental, & spiritual wellbeing
  • Yoni Steaming, Herbs, & Endometriosis
  • & More

It took her Morganne 15 years to get diagnosed with Endometriosis. She spent years trying to find answers and treatments for her symptoms. Even though she was a practicing nurse and someone who understood the medical system, she still experienced many challenges in getting her diagnosis and the proper treatments.

1 in 10 women had endometriosis, a full-body inflammatory disease, not just a period disease. Although it is almost as common as diabetes, the medical field doesn’t have many people who specialize in endometriosis. As a result, it takes an average of 7-9 years for someone to get their diagnosis.

90% of women first present to their doctors with digestive and gut health complaints - not period pain. The number 1 symptom is bloating. The symptoms are wide and varied, which can make the whole process that much more challenging.

While endometriosis can present wide and varied physical symptoms, it can also take a large toll on mental health. In this episode, we discuss how important your support systems are in this journey and which support systems to seek out.

If you or someone you love suspects that they have Endometriosis, Morganne recommends seeking out the following support systems and modalities

  • Find the right Excision Specialist: Find one here https://icarebetter.com/
  • Therapy: endometriosis is often associated with anxiety and depression
  • Journalling, self-help books, support groups
  • Cycle charting gave her a sense of agency and empowerment back through the ability to predict flares and use tools to prevent flares. It gave her predictability over a body that had become unpredictable.
  • Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist (PFPT)  can help with pelvic pain, abdominal pain, urinary dysfunction, diarrhea, and more
  • Acupuncture gave her agency and comfort because it is symptoms based - she didn’t need a diagnosis to continue the healing process
  • Herbs have helped her manage or eradicate symptoms without side effects

Remember that you are not alone in this journey—embrace the healing power of nature, community, and self-love, and let your inner light shine brightly through every challenge. 🌸✨

Morganne is a devoted advocate within the fertility and endometriosis community, committed to increasing awareness and offering vital support. Through her nursing and herbalist background and personal experience with endometriosis, she brings a unique perspective to the table. Her mission is to empower individuals with knowledge, resources, and a robust support system, which she offers through her fertility awareness classes and coaching services.

Holistic Healing and Perimenopause

Join Katya and I for an open conversation about menstrual cycles and health as we age and move through different life stages.

Katya shares her journey of opening up ‘like a book” over time as she navigated young life in Eastern Europe, life being the oldest sister, pregnancy and birth, breast cancer, perimenopause, and more.

Katya encourages each of us to be open and honest about our bodies, cycles, and hormones. To come together, to share, and to learn. She also encourages radical self-advocacy in the medical field to work with your healthcare providers, to do your own research, and to trust your gut. She reminds us to stop suffering in silence, get support, and keep trying until you find what will work for you.

We totally understand burnout when advocating for your own health. When you are overwhelmed, the last thing you want to do is add more things. But we also have learned that if what you are doing isn’t working - you have to try something else.

We hope that you find this episode to be helpful as you navigate your own health and spiritual journey.

You can learn more about Katya at https://www.bodystrongvibes.com/

Healing is an integral part of Katya Tarus life as a Breast Cancer Survivor, a mom, and an avid trail ultra-runner. Katya turned to fitness to manage her recovery, then physical healing quest. The mindset work to align the body changed her life. Later, Katya awakened her abilities to help and hold healing space for others.

Katya Tarus helps women to build their body from the ground up using out of the box solutions, with the distinct value of aligning the Body and Mind through a Holistic Impact using my perceptive resourcefulness to educate and advocate towards a sustainable fitness and wellness business called Body Strong Vibes - Activate * Awaken * Ascend.

The Mystic Feminine Fertility Podcast
Depth in the Darkness

In this episode we discuss

  • Cyclical Living
  • Somatic Embodiment Practices
  • Luteal Phase Longings and Discoveries
  • Plant Medicine Ceremonies
  • Cervical Orgasms
  • & More

The womb is mysterious, dark, and deeply powerful. It is not only our connection to the ability to create life - but it connects us to the eternal wisdom in each of us.

One of the most accessible ways to connect with the womb is through tracking your cycle and becoming aware of your internal cyclical shifts. The menstrual cycle is dynamic and adaptable. It gives us early indications of what may be going on deeper in the body. Our menstrual cycle connects us to the cyclical nature of the earth around us. Through connecting with our cycles - we can understand and care for ourselves with more ease.

One of the key points that Amanda wanted to share in this episode was that there is wisdom even in the darkest parts of the cycle. We discussed the luteal phase - the time between ovulation and the next bleed - in which many women notice an internal shift, increased hunger, and other symptoms.

Some of these symptoms are gentle and do not cause harm, while others may cause more distress. Amanda shared that the symptoms that arise at this time are the culmination of deep "longings" in the body.

To learn more about her upcoming offering - Luteal Longing - you can visit https://amandadoralee.com/

Amanda Lee has been fascinated by the nature of consciousness for as long as she can remember. The daughter of a philosophy professor, she grew up in a home surrounded by books about ethics, free will, world religions, and neuroscience, and with dinner table conversations regularly revolving around questions like “if a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, did it make a sound?”. Amanda’s fascination with understanding human nature drew her to spirituality at a very young age.  As she grew up, her interests led her to deeply study acting, develop a dedicated yoga practice, explore psychedelics, and spend many years of her early adult life living out of a backpack and calling the open road her home.

Amanda’s fascination with the big questions was forced to become less of an intellectual pursuit and more of an exploration of consciousness within the body when she went down the rabbit hole of desperately trying to heal a myriad of chronic health conditions after being in a multi-year toxic relationship. Amanda received and studied many different healing modalities at this time and began to wake up to her incredibly sensitive and psychic nature. Seeing the biggest impact on her personal well-being through receiving somatic trauma healing, Amanda focused her own studies in this realm.

Today, Amanda utilizes a variety of different modalities when offering her services as a trauma-trained somatic practitioner. She specializes in helping women heal their nervous system and attachment system after a lifetime of people-pleasing, codependent relationships, and victim/perpetrator/rescuer dynamics. In sessions, Amanda works closely with the client’s energetic body and trapped trauma imprints. Her work helps clients shift out of self-sabotaging behaviors and reconnects them with their own innate creative energy and inner knowing so that they leave her to practice trusting in their own unique magic.
