Act Properly to You and Your Future Selves

Growing up, there's a good chance that you saw someone who you aspired to be like. It could have been an athlete, business person, doctor, actor and you hoped your own career trajectory could be similar to their career and life. So if we do that in our professional life, why shouldn't we do it in our personal life too? Who is it you aspire to like when it comes to being a partner, a parent, a friend? We don't talk about it enough, but it matters. Today I wanted to talk about our future selves and give some insight into what I'm doing to make that happen in case it's helpful for you all.

Cash, Confidence, and Joy

Today we are continuing a similar conversation to the previous podcast by using topics from another conversation I listened to and giving my thoughts on it. Today we are talking about a wide range of interesting topics including societies perspective on men vs. women as leaders, shame as a motivator for men, the pursuit of money and strength and what I think might be the most interesting...the importance of differentiating fun and joy.

What Men's True Intentions Are: The Male Brain Revealed

This episode is a little different from my past ones. I had recently listened to a podcast episode that I thought covered a wide range of topics. Rather than react to them, I wanted to give my own thoughts on some of their topics such as monogamy, pride, relationship communication and a lot more. Leave a review and let me know if you liked this one because I enjoyed doing it and would love to do it again in the future.

Ced's Journal Unfiltered

In this episode, Ced talks about his latest journal entry in which he wrote some thoughts about his family and why some of their traits/behaviors bother him. He worries that it might be bad how he perceives his family but how it could also be an opportunity to see how he can resolve this friction himself.

The Controversy of Men's Sports Jerseys

In this episode, Ced talks about how “Alpha Male” influencers insult people for wearing jerseys and how they say it’s "weak" to wear another man’s name on your back. He gives a story from the NFL locker room about a player that tried to call him out for it as well. We talk about how everyone wears jerseys, they just might not pertain to sports...

Create Your Own Story | The Cycle Part 3

This is the final part of the cycle series. In this episode, I talk about how to break the cycle and put together a plan for moving forward. Now that we've recognized the problem and where it comes from, it's time to resolve those habits, behaviors or situations for a better one. Podcast music by Toshiki Soejima Follow me at @Ced.speaks

Recognizing The Problem | The Cycle Part 2

If you haven't seen Part 1 of this series, I would recommend watching that episode first. In this episode, we continue talking about the Cycle process and recognizing the problem. We all have those mindsets or behaviors that continue to keep happening. It's up to us to identify those patterns and understand why they're happening. For example, is it from our past? Is it because of stress at work? I think this is helpful for breaking those negative patterns and hopefully improving.

We're here for a reason | The Cycle Part 1

This is part 1 of a three-part series that I wanted to make talking about a system I've developed to help me grow and change the parts of me (behavior, habits, etc.) that I want to improve on. I call it The Cycle because for all of us, these problems will keep coming up in different ways and it's up to us to fix ourselves and get out of this cycle. This has really helped change my life and I hope you find value you in it as well.

I'm Returning to Football

When I originally ended my NFL career, I personally felt like I left it on a bad note. It wasn't how I imagined it would go and because of that, I really didn't want to have anything to do with it for many years. I didn't watch the games, I didn't want to talk about and frankly, I didn't want to be associated with it as "Ced, the former NFL player." But now, after a number of years, I've found the passion for it again. I believe there's a lot I learned from this game and want to share how I'm using to impact others now. I'm Questioning My Faith.

If you've followed me for a while, you know that faith was a big part of my content when I first started. Since then I've done a lot of thinking about it and wanted to share my thoughts on it now. This isn't a conversation meant to sway anyone one way or another. Rather, I hope that for anyone else asking the hard questions, this is encouragement to keep doing that in order to learn and grow. It Took 8 Years of Marriage to be Happy

Being married 8 years has taught me a lot about what it takes to have a happy and healthy marriage. Today I wanted to talk about what I've learned and how I think I've achieved the feeling we all hope for in a relationship. There's no word for it and it's like nothing I've ever experienced, but hopefully I can describe how I've found it and hopefully you all can feel the same in your own marriages and relationships.

Speak Your Mind or Bite Your Tongue? | Storytime

This one is personal for me. If you looked at the title, you might think this is just a conversation about differences in communication. We do talk about that, but this is about how these various approaches have personally effected me. I grew up in LA where everyone is very blunt and now live in Minnesota, where everyone approaches situations with passive-aggressiveness. As you can imagine, this can lead to some issues at times...

You Don't Need Them. You Want Them.

Needing vs. Wanting in relationships is a key point to understand if you want it to last long term. At the surface, saying something like, "I don't need my spouse" sounds rude, but in this episode I want to give some context around that thought process and give some advice on how it can help you have a healthy relationship.

The Subtle Art of Feeling Better

My nutritionist once told me, "Until You Feel Really Good, You Don’t Realize How Bad You Felt". That has really stuck with me and something I've realized can relate to your physical health, mental health, relationships and basically life overall. This isn't a another conversation about "how to get healthy" but rather understanding how we can be proactive about fixing those things in our life that are making us feel bad.

Addressing the Comments About How I Raise My Daughters.

As a content creator on social media, I understand it comes with people making comments about how I parent my children. So I thought today I would talk about it from my perspective. More specifically, I want to talk about independence. I think it's relevant not only for how I raise my daughters but I also wanted to talk about how we need to rethink how we view that term, especially when it comes to relationships.

Admit it, you don't know everything.

Welcome to the first episode of my new podcast. For those of you that listened to my podcast, Committed, with my wife, this one will be different with a larger range of topics.

Today, I wanted to talk about something that I think is a widespread issue in our society right now. It feels like everyone thinks they have the answer for everything. And even if they don't, they'd never admit that they don't know. I wanted to talk about why that's actually holding people back from success and why I've become comfortable with saying "I don't know."
