Izbrana je bila med 945 pravljicami, ki so prispele na natečaj Radia Slovenija za izvirno slovensko pravljico. In kako je biti pomad? Ščuka je kot vojno orožje! Super plenilka, povsem prilagojena svojemu okolju: reki. Toda to, da se nikogar ne boji in ima skoraj sedemsto zob, še ne pomeni, da je njeno življenje dolga in mirna reka. Ščuka je podolgovata riba, s sploščenim gobcem in hrbtno plavutjo, pomaknjeno močno nazaj, je ozka kot nabodalo. Njeno telo je zelenkasto, na nekaterih mestih skoraj rumeno, posuto z belimi pegami in črtami. Popolnoma se zlije z rečno vodo in rastlinami, ki rastejo v njej. Ribiči radi z vabo lovijo ščuko, ker se ta močno upira, ko enkrat zagrabi za ribiško vrvico, pa tudi zato, ker ščuka ni navadna plenilka, je super plenilka. Nobena druga žival je ne lovi, zato je med rečnimi živalmi na vrhu prehranjevalne verige! Toda žal ji tudi na tem položaju ni lahko!
