GLEN POWELL MARCH MADNESS: PART 3!!!
IF YOU FEEL IT, CHASE IT!!!
Save a horse, ride a cowboy scientist/meteorologist? It’s the end of March, meaning spring is slowly approaching and it also means our Glen Powell March Madness has now come to a close. And to end it off with a bang (or a yeehaw), we decided to do our favourite Glen Powell romantic-comedy, Twisters. You might be surprised but this movie has all of the classic tropes we love in a romcom; humour, beautiful people GAZING at each other, a man who yearns, a cast full of fun characters, and Glen Powell in a wet t-shirt. We especially had a lot of fun talking about this movie because we were joined with our best friend and sister, Aimee!!! Thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

GLEN POWELL MARCH MADNESS: PART 2!!!
Are you a psychology professor that moonlights as a fake hit man for the NOPD? Are you a unsatisfied wife looking to get rid of her husband for good instead of divorcing him? Well if so, then you just might be the star-crossed lovers in the “romantic-comedy” Hit Man, played by our beloved Glen Powell and the beautiful Adria Arjona. This movie is fun, odd, and S E X Y. Everything we know Glen Powell to be. We had a lot of fun talking about this movie and we hope you have fun listening! Thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we’re kicking off our Glen Powell March Madness with the first movie that made us fall in love with him, Set It Up. Starring the ever adorable Zoey Deutch, iconic Lucy Liu, and formidable Taye Diggs, this 2018 romantic comedy is leading the charge in the romantic comedy renaissance. This movie has everything we love: fun and quippy banter, commitment to the bit, a star-studded cast, and memorable comedic crash outs. We had a lot of fun talking about this movie and we hope you have fun listening! Thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we watched an Oscar worthy classic, Moonstruck. This 1987 movie landed Cher her one and only Oscar, along with queen Olympia Dukakis for best supporting actress, and screen writer John Patrick Shanley for best original screenplay. This supposed romantic comedy casts a young Nicolas Cage - at the beginning of his career - as the tortured love interest. Which was definitely a choice people made… Moonstruck has all of the things we usually love, thick Italian-American Brooklyn accents, hand-talking, and Cher serving face. Despite the romance leaving us wanting, we had a lot of fun talking about this movie and we hope you have fun listening! Thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we watched a classic in our hearts:Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. Directed by Garry Marshall and written by Shonda Rhimes, this movie has all of the same story beats that we loved from the first film and more; like an enemies to lovers-esque story line, a queen’s secret romance, a Norah Jones love song, and Julie Andrew’s singing! It’s also our beloved Chris Pine’s first film role! We had a lot of fun talking about this movie and we hope you have fun listening! Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we watched The Decoy Bride, an underrated 2011 flick starring David Tennant, Kelly Macdonald, and Alice Eve. This charming and unassuming movie has everything we love: very thick Scottish accents, British humour, a haunted toilet, a sweet romance, and a romantic male lead who gazes. Out of respect for the Scottish people and our beloved Shrek, we exercised restraint and kept our bad Scottish accents to a minimum. Which, as you all know, is a miracle for these two lassies. We had a lot of fun talking about this movie and we hope you have fun listening! Thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we watched Serendipity. The dictionary defines ‘serendipity’ as “luck that takes the form of finding valuable or pleasant things that are not looked for.” Instead, the definition should be “a movie about two infuriating people making infuriating decisions culminating in the most infuriating romance.” Starring Kate Beckinsale in her pre-prime and John Cusack in his post-prime, Serendipity is weirdly your mom’s favourite romantic comedy. For what reasons? We sure as hell would like to know. Seriously, someone tell us why they like this movie. Thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. It’s a Christmas miracle! Despite trials and tribulations, we have a new episode for y’all. This week, we talk about the unexpectedly charming Hot Frosty. Starring Canada’s sweetheart Dustin Milligan and Lacey Chabert - of Mean Girls and every Hallmark Christmas romance film fame - Hot Frosty delivers an odd but poignant romance, goofy shenanigans, shirtless scenes, horny grandmas, and easily passed over plot holes. This movie literally swept us off our feet! So thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we decided to go back to the blueprint of romantic comedies: When Harry Met Sally. Every romcom since its release in 1989, has stolen - I mean, learned - a thing or two from it. This movie has everything: enemies to friends to lovers, quick and witty banter, and New York City in the fall. We had extra fun with this movie, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to it. So thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we watched the movie that claims to have brought the romcoms back from extinction: Anyone But You. However, we (dis)respectfully disagree. Starring our beloved Glen Powell, the beautiful Sydney Sweeney, and a silly goofy supporting cast whose sole job it was to bring the camp. This modern adaptation, based on William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, has everything we usually love: hot people, fake dating, and high jinks but misses the mark in certain ways that left us wanting more of something else. We had a lot of fun with this movie, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to it. So thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we delved into one of our favourite worlds: The Jane Austen Cinematic Universe and we watched Love & Friendship. An odd choice for sure, but we took a gamble and Jane Austen had never steered us wrong before. This 2016 film has almost none of the traditional markers we love from a Jane Austen adaptation: nasty, manipulative women, buffoonish men, and throuples. It was definitely the wildest of rides.

This week, we re-recorded our review of the classic 2004 film, A Cinderella Story. This life-changing, young girl brain-altering movie has everything we look for in a 2000s tween romcom: a boss-bitch 15 year old Hilary Duff, a mewing Chad Michael Murray, Jennifer Coolidge in arguably one of her best roles, and Regina King doing the Lord’s work. It’s the You’ve Got Mail for the 2000s tweens.

For our 30th episode, we’re talking about the film that rewired Kat’s brain to love all things Chris Pine and British pop rock bands, Just My Luck. Starring Lindsay Lohan, still at the height of her career, and Chris Pine, at the beginning of his, this movie is about the luckiest white girl to have ever lived in New York City. She’s got everything: all white outfits, two poor best friends, dates with the son of a billionaire, and the type of job - and apartment - only a romcom heroine could have. Count yourselves lucky because you’re in for a treat!

In episode 29, we revisit the Queen of RomComs, Sandra Bullock in the 2002 film Two Weeks Notice. She plays Lucy Kelson (yes, another Lucy) a no-nonsense, type A lawyer who is just trying to do good in the world opposite Hugh Grant’s suave, childish, and charming George Wade. This movie has everything we love: the sunshine/grumpy trope, good quick banter, and a Norah Jones cameo. It also has everything we hate: a Donald Trump jumpscare. Nevertheless, we persisted through. We had a lot of fun with this movie, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to it. So thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

In this episode, we talk about the legendary Legally Blonde. This fan-favourite has everything: chihuahuas in purses, pink power suits, Blonde vs. Brunette beef, and multiple sequinned bikinis. Join us as we discuss Elle Woods’ low-key unhinged behaviour, a 30-something Luke Wilson playing a 20-something student, and Jennifer Coolidge doing literally anything. We had a lot of fun with this movie, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to it. Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. It’s Valentine’s Day, ladies and germs! It’s the holiday for all of us romcom loving nerds out there. We suggest grabbing a hold of your loved one, settling down by the fire with a bottle of wine and playing this episode about the absolute mess that is Garry Marshall’s Valentine’s Day. Starring almost every (white) actor you could think of, Valentine’s Day is America’s attempt at a Love Actually type of movie. Were they successful? Find out our thoughts right now! We had a lot of fun with this movie, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to it. Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. In this episode, we’re celebrating Kat turning 30 by talking about the seminal classic 13 Going on 30. This movie shaped our understanding of what being a 30 year old woman would be like: flirty and thriving. But let’s be honest, who can actually be thirty, flirty and thriving in this economy?! We discuss the things that made us laugh, cringe, all the Mark Ruffalo scenes that made us swoon, and how unrealistic Jenna Rink’s Manhattan apartment is relative to her job. We had a lot of fun with this movie, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to it. It’s one of Molly’s favourites, while it’s one of Kat’s least. They discuss all the things they loved, laughed at, and hated and it made for a great conversation. There were impressions and lots of giggles: it’s like we recorded on the CLIFFS OF INSANITY!!! We had a lot of fun with this movie, and we hope you have just as much fun listening to it. Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This episode is the last in our holiday series! For this week, we’re talking about the 2019 movie Last Christmas starring Emilia Clarke, Henry Golding and Emma Thompson. Emma Thompson wrote this as an homage to George Michael and his music, specifically his song ‘Last Christmas’. We’re a little mixed on our feelings about this movie which makes for a fun discussion! So thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo

Welcome to VomCom, the podcast where we talk about the romantic comedies we love to hate and hate to love. This week, we talk about one of Kat’s favourite holiday romcoms, Last Holiday starring Queen Latifah and Ladies Love Cool James; AKA LL Cool J. After getting a life-changing diagnosis, quiet and unassuming Georgia Byrd decides she’s going to cash in her life savings and blow it all on the luxuries she never allowed herself to indulge in before. We talk about how satisfying it is to watch Georgia come into her power, we laugh at delusional Matthew Kragen (Timothy Hutton), and we swoon at Sean Matthews’ (LL Cool J) grand romantic gesture. This episode has just about everything so buckle up and enjoy! Thanks for listening to us talk about everything we loved and hated about this film, see ya next time! xo
