Solitude is something we don’t have enough of in our lives. Not loneliness, not isolation, but the simple act of spending time alone, on purpose. With the world being louder and faster than ever, it’s easy to get caught up in the noise and lose ourselves. In this episode, I explore the value of solitude, and how, by becoming comfortable with being alone, we can begin to reconnect with ourselves and rediscover who we really are. I talk about my own experience of once being completely content in my own company, to struggling through grief, and now, how I’ve been learning to find that peace again. We’ll look at the role of solitude in today’s world, and the simple ways we can practise it. If you’ve been feeling lost or disconnected lately, maybe it’s time for a quiet moment to rediscover yourself.

In a world where we’re constantly stimulated, boredom has become something we avoid at all costs. But what if boredom isn’t the problem... what if it’s the answer? This week, I explore our relationship with boredom and stillness, how modern life and technology have made it harder to slow down, and why learning to sit with quiet moments might be one of the most powerful things we can do for our minds. I talk about why we’ve become so uncomfortable with doing nothing, how this constant need for stimulation affects our creativity and mental health, and what we can do to reclaim stillness in our everyday lives.

Life today moves faster than ever. We’re constantly connected, constantly stimulated; and yet many of us feel more disconnected than ever. In this episode, I talk about how technology and the pace of modern life have changed the way we live, think, and connect. Growing up through a period before everything went digital, I share my experiences of life before and after the technological shift, how things have changed, and look at some of the challenges we face today.

Loneliness and Isolation is becoming one of the biggest problems we face in our modern world. Despite being more connected than ever digitally, we're more disconnected than ever in reality. This week, I talk about my own experiences with loneliness and isolation, explore why it’s become such a growing issue, and discuss what we can do to change it. It’s an episode about reflection, reconnection, and reminding ourselves that none of us are truly alone in feeling alone.

Unfinished conversations are something we all carry with us. From the loss of a loved one, to losing contact with a friend, to the words we never quite found the courage to say... they stay with us in ways we don’t always expect. In this episode, I share my personal feelings on this subject, I explore why unfinished conversations happen, and how we can do things to deal with this. Most importantly, I share why it matters to reach out while we still can, to rebuild connections, and to have the conversations that matter before it’s too late. It’s a particularly poignant episode for me, because in many ways doing this podcast feels like continuing the conversations I used to have with Adz on The Life Bench... conversations I miss more than I can put into words.

Talking can be powerful. It can heal, connect, and lighten the load we carry. But it also takes energy... emotional energy that can leave us feeling drained if we don’t take care of ourselves. In this episode, I explore the toll that talking can take, why balance matters, and how rest and recovery are just as important as opening up. If you’ve ever wondered why sharing your story sometimes feels exhausting, this one’s for you.

So much of life is shaped not just by what happens to us, but by how we choose to see it. In this episode, I explore the power of perspective; how the lens we look through can change the way we experience challenges, relationships, and even ourselves. I share some of my own reflections, from everyday moments to the bigger struggles I've faced, and why shifting perspective, even in small ways, can make such a big difference. Perspective doesn’t take away pain or hardship, but it does shape the meaning we take from it. And the more we use it, the more powerful it can be in literally changing our lives.

Resilience is not pretending everything’s okay. It's finding the strength to keep moving forward, even when life hits us hard. In this weeks episode I take a closer look at what resilience is, how recovery is just as important, and how both can look different for everyone. I also explore how we can build resilience into our everyday lives, and share some famous stories of resilience. This episode is about recognising the strength we already have within us, and remembering that resilience isn’t perfection... it’s growth.

Cancer is one of those things that almost all of us will face one way or another, whether it’s through a family member, a friend, or even ourselves. In this episode, I share my experiences of encountering the disease, and discuss my own diagnosis of Basal Cell Carcinoma. I talk about what I’ve learned from these experiences, how I try to live with awareness rather than fear, and why perspective and hope matter so much. It might be a difficult conversation, but it's one we shouldn't shy away from, because it's only by talking openly that we can better understand, support each other, and keep moving forward.

Fear never fully goes away, but learning to face it is what allows us to grow. In this episode, I look at why fear shows up, how it tries to protect us, and how we can use it as fuel. I share what's helped me, and why taking action, even when it feels uncomfortable, is the key to moving forward.

As humans, we need purpose. In this episode, I share my personal journey of discovering my own... how my experiences had me questioning things, and ultimately what led me to where I am now. I explore why purpose matters, the misconceptions that hold people back, and practical ways you can start uncovering yours. Whether your purpose is big or small, fixed or evolving, this is about finding the “why” that makes your “how” worth it.

A more reflective episode this time around. I talk about the importance of the little moments; why we miss them, why I used to miss them, and why they matter more than we think. From how our brains are wired, to the world we live in today, to what I’ve started doing differently, it’s a lighter but thought-provoking reminder to slow down and notice what we so often miss.

In this episode, I explore why many of us find it hard to open up. From busy lives, to daily pressures, and some of the other reasons we stay quiet.
