Are you a Yes Woman? Always saying YES to everyone no matter who they are, always making yourself last, leaving yourself to grab whatever you can grab to eat which means you're not eating foods that will help you lose weight.

Do you end up feeling secretly resentful at the end of the day and then food becomes your way to "care" for yourself? Food becomes your way to finally put your own needs first, but the food you're eating feeds your binge patterns and comfort eating treks?

Since 2009 I've been coaching smart, successful women (and a few cool men!) to struggle-free weight loss in eight weeks or less. My clients stop binge eating, stop emotional eating, and stop compulsive overeating after a lifetime of struggling with food and their weight.

Almost all of them have shared the same problem when they found me: people pleasing.

What you might not feel is that self-care is good. It's nice - being nice to yourself. It's you pleasing you rather than looking for approval outside of yourself.



Self-care and healthy boundaries does not mean that you never help anyone. It means that you don't allow your own health and fitness to slide by filling up all of your time doing for others.

It's critical to know how to lose weight when you have no support because if you don't know how to navigate this, do you know what's going to happen?

More than likely you'll give up. You'll want to conform to be accepted in "the group" because you won't have the support from those in your environment and it will be easier to just "go with the flow" and stay in your comfort zone.

The big problem is that your comfort zone does not contain the weight loss results you want.

It can feel depressing when your loved ones don't support your weight loss. This could be for varying reasons such as not wanting to see you disappointed again because you've quit in the past, or they don't want to "deal with your crankiness" when you diet, or it could even be that they have their own food and weight problems and don't want to see you change because that will force them to look at themselves and what they aren't doing to improve themselves.

And then what happens with your eating? Do you easily and consciously choose the healthy, portion-controlled option and eat only when physically hungry? Or does your worry, anxiety, and fear push you to emotional eating to try and soothe your fears?
