75 Hard - Equestrian Style!

THE RULES OF 75 EQUI-DISCIPLINE:

  1. Two 45-Minute "Equine Connection" Sessions Daily:

    • Session 1: Dedicated Ridden Work or Intensive Groundwork: This must be a focused 45-minute session in the saddle (if your horse is ridden) or a dedicated groundwork session (lunging, long-lining, in-hand work, liberty work, etc.). The goal is intentional training and communication.
    • Session 2: "Barn & Body" Focus: This can be anything from a brisk hand-walk or trail ride with your horse, an intensive grooming session, a thorough tack cleaning, stable organization, mucking stalls, barn maintenance, or even a rider-specific workout (stretching, strength training) focused on improving your riding fitness.
    • Adaptation for Lame/Retired Horse: If your horse is unable to be ridden or actively worked due to soundness or retirement, your two sessions will focus on intensive groundwork, hand-walking, stretching, massage, extended grooming, quiet bonding time, or focused barn management that directly benefits your horse (e.g., building a new feeder, repairing fencing). The spirit is dedicated time with or for your horse.
  2. Follow a "Healthy Equine & Human Nutrition Plan":

    • For YOU: Choose a whole-food-based eating plan (e.g., no processed foods, no refined sugar) and stick to it. No cheat meals or alcohol for 75 days. This is about fueling your body for the demanding work of horsemanship.
    • For Your HORSE: Ensure consistent access to clean, fresh water. Monitor their forage intake, and ensure their feed program is balanced and consistent. No sugary treats or unhealthy scraps. This is about being diligent with your horse's diet and hydration.
  3. Drink Half Your Body Weight (in pounds) in fluid ounces per day:

    • Stay hydrated! This is crucial for your energy and focus, both in and out of the saddle.
  4. Read 10 Pages of Equestrian Non-Fiction Daily:

    • Dive deep into learning! This could be books on horse training, equine anatomy, stable management, veterinary care, equestrian history, rider biomechanics, or specific disciplines. Expand your knowledge!
    • Alternative: If reading isn't your primary learning style, you can substitute this with 30 minutes of watching an educational equestrian documentary, clinic recording, or reputable online course content from a recognized professional.
  5. Daily "Equine Progress & Care" Documentation:

    • NO SELFIES! Instead, your daily photo or short video will focus on your horse or an aspect of your equestrian discipline:
    • Alternatively, or additionally: Keep a daily journal where you write at least 5 sentences about your training session, your horse's mood, a new observation, or a specific care task you completed with intention.
