"I went from being the guy bringing booze to every party to the guy who says, ‘Sorry, I gave up drinking yesterday.’" – Bo Green
I recently sat down with Bo Green, a sober coach and global adventurer who has also redefined what it means to party. From binge-drinking party animal to sober dancing in Bali, Bo shares how he built confidence and connection without relying on alcohol.
Bo's instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_bo_green/
We cover:
How discomfort fuels growth.
"Every time I feel my heart race and think, ‘I don’t know if I want to do this,’ that’s when I say yes. On the other side of discomfort is growth." – Bo
Confidence isn’t liquid—it’s practiced.
"Once you can dance your heart out sober, you can unlock everything. That’s the goal." – Bo
Tools for partying sober.
"I bring a journal, a sarong, and essential oils to every party. That’s my vibe now—and it works." – Bo
Bo also opens up about his sobriety journey: baptizing himself in Lake Tahoe, journaling through temptation during a cross-country road trip, and thriving at ecstatic dances overlooking the ocean in Bali.
"The goal isn’t just to stop drinking—it’s to show up fully. And once you unlock that, the party doesn’t end—it just gets better." – Bo
Bo Green:
"I saw being an introvert as a failure. So, I surrounded myself with the most outgoing, craziest people I could find. I started testing my confidence on people I’d never see again. If I messed up, who cares?"
Evan the Party Coach:
"I remember being so jealous of a friend who could talk to everyone. Then one day, I realized: Actually, that could be me. So I started surrounding myself with people who lit me up and learned to reflect that energy."
Bo Green:
"People always ask me how I went from the guy who brought booze to every party to the guy dancing sober with no regrets. The answer? I realized I didn’t need liquid courage. I just needed to trust myself."
Evan the Party Coach:
"I get asked all the time, 'What are you on?' And my answer is simple: I’m on purpose. If you’ve got a purpose, you don’t need anything else to fuel the vibe."
Bo Green:
"The goal is to have more confidence sober than you ever had drunk. To dance your heart out, no matter where you are—even waiting in line at an airport. If you can unlock that, you can unlock everything else."
Evan the Party Coach:
"It’s about freeing the party within. Once you know you can bring that energy anywhere, without relying on substances, you stop chasing and start creating."
Bo Green:
"Every time I feel discomfort, I lean into it. Because on the other side of discomfort is growth. If you stay in your little circle of comfort, you’ll never grow."
Evan the Party Coach:
"The party isn’t in avoiding the hard stuff. It’s in showing up for it and realizing you’re stronger than you think. That’s where freedom lives."
Bo Green:
"The best parties are the ones where you can fully express yourself. No pressure to hook up, no need for validation—just authentic connections and pure joy."
Evan the Party Coach:
"I’ve been to sober ecstatic dances overlooking the ocean, Burning Man naked trampoline parties, and wild raves. What makes them transformative isn’t the setting—it’s being fully present and alive in your own skin."
Bo Green:
"I’ll never drink again because I’ve proven to myself that I don’t need it. I can dance harder, connect deeper, and live freer without it. And that’s something no drink can give me."
Evan the Party Coach:
"It’s not about rejecting the party—it’s about redefining it. Once you free the party within, everything else becomes a choice, not a crutch."

What happens when two souls—both seekers, party-goers, and self-proclaimed energy workers—collide in a conversation about chaos, connection, and higher consciousness? You get a podcast episode that invites you to rethink the way you approach life, parties, and the energy you bring to every space you enter.
In this episode, Evan Cudworth shares his journey from reckless rager to intentional connector. He’s a guide for anyone looking to transform their social life into a source of joy, freedom, and growth. Known for partying sober for two years and helping others embrace authentic social connections, Evan breaks down how to turn anxiety into flow, even in the middle of a festival.
Joining him is Alexandra, a former "crazy party girl" turned energy worker and healer. With a background in trauma-informed practices, Alexandra’s approach is grounded in harmonizing higher consciousness with raw humanity. Whether she’s guiding ceremonies, channeling chaos on the dance floor, or teaching people how to heal through Reiki, Alexandra offers practical insights for anyone seeking to align their inner world with their outer experiences.
Together, Evan and Alexandra unpack why the party never truly ends—because the real party is within you.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in the cycles of regret, questioned the meaning of joy, or wondered why connection sometimes feels so elusive, this episode is your invitation to shift your perspective. Tune in for stories about skydiving festivals, healing through chaos, and tools to help you step into a life worth celebrating.

QUOTES: "When you're in your highest expression of joy and authenticity, that energy radiates out. Amazing things can happen. You'll meet incredible people, go on side quests, and find unexpected opportunities." – Alexandra "If you never want the party to end, there’s probably something you’re avoiding." – Alexandra "Higher consciousness isn’t about being above anyone else—it’s about harmonizing with every version of yourself and others without judgment." – Evan "Partying was my way to connect with God. It let me feel something bigger than myself, even if I didn’t have the language for it at the time." – Alexandra "Substances are tools, not solutions. The key is knowing when they serve you and when they don’t." – Alexandra "A party can’t be controlled. If you’re controlling it, it’s not a party." – Evan "Growth is like a tree. You plant seeds, nurture them, and eventually enjoy the fruit. But once the fruit is gone, you start the process again. Growth isn’t a one-time thing." – Alexandra "I love where I am now, and I loved where I was then. There’s no regret—just different seasons of joy." – Alexandra "When you’re in a room full of people vibrating to the same energy, it’s not fake. It’s real, and it’s powerful. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise." – Evan

Join the Party Coach as we sit down with seasoned podcasters Andy (co-creator of "The Daily" and "Rabbit Hole" at the NYT) and Matt (Crimetown; Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling) to discuss their new venture, REFLECTOR, a documentary-style podcast that tells stories about the messy debates in our society, and on how deeply listening to one another can reveal a sense of shared humanity.
Their first episode details THE SINCLAIR METHOD, an alternative treatment for alcohol use disorder using a drug called NALTREXONE. As someone who has spent 10 years in various states of recovery & investigating my own drinking, I had never heard of this method.
We discuss why, and then navigate the influence of social norms and media on divisiveness, particularly in regards to alcohol & addiction treatment. Can storytelling bridge gaps or is conflict baked in? We explore our own definitions of partying, explore over-drinking, medication awareness with Naltrexone, and the complexities of modern journalism. 00:00 Introduction and Guest Welcome 00:52 Andy and Matt's Podcast Journey 01:40 The Mission Behind Reflektor 03:20 Challenges in Media and Storytelling 08:42 The Role of Fun and Social Trust 10:02 Sober Socializing and Alternatives to Drinking 24:00 The Impact of COVID-19 on Drinking Habits 35:11 The Sinclair Method and Naltrexone 42:08 Personal Reflections on Medication and ADHD 42:59 The Stigma Around Addiction Medication 44:01 The Sinclair Method and Medical Education 44:48 Personal Stories of Addiction and Recovery 45:50 The Role of Party Culture in Addiction 51:14 The Importance of Connection and Belonging 55:38 The Struggle with Faith and Spirituality 01:05:06 The Need for Open-Minded Curiosity in Journalism 01:08:21 Final Thoughts and "Reflections"

Evan & the party coaches have a vulnerable a chat with Cassidy Rose, Katie Lawrence of Sacred Sessions, a conscious party collective in St. Pete, Florida.
https://www.instagram.com/sacred.sessions/
They talked about the idea of 'partying different' - taking a step away from the usual party scene to create real, meaningful social experiences.
They got deep, talking about finding your tribe, being yourself in a world of filters and booze, picking the right parties to go to, or not. They shared personal stories on what partying different means to them, from being open to new experiences, making real connections, and even preferring health and sobriety.
They also touched on building and keeping communities together, the ups and downs of leading such groups, and some practical advice for folks wanting to party in a healthier, more intentional way.
They shared the importance of rituals, like kicking off a party with a cacao ceremony, or bringing something meaningful or fun to share, like lavender oil or rubber duckies, to create a positive vibe. The chat wrapped up with a shout-out to anyone interested in trying these practices in their own lives, whether by coming to a Sacred Sessions event, taking part in no fun habit challenges, or just trying some of these mindful partying ideas.

season 2 begins on April Fools, with a new question: AM I A FOOL TO DO THIS DIRTY (PARTY) WORK? Is being a "party coach" meaningful or counterproductive? Does investing this kind of energy into our social lives make matters worse or better?
To interrogate this question, I'm joined by fellow PARTY COACH (and DJ/Digital Entrepreneur/Detroiter/Multi-Hyphinate) Alyssa Alvarez, as we discuss her transformation from finding me on TikTok last summer in a dark place, to finding a sustainable approach to social life, and eventually becoming a "party coach" and co-hosting habit challenges in our community, KNOWFUN.
We debate the importance of daily habits, the role of coaching, and the spectrum of sober living, and redefining fun beyond substances.
Alyssa shares her journey from feeling out of place high school to becoming a DJ and a coach, highlighting the impact of letting go, asking for help, and more.
The conversation also touches on the challenges of implementing "healthy" habits, with a focus on a tech-free bedtime routine and the significance of REAL daily communication in feeling connected.

AI GENERATED SUMMARY:
In a recent podcast episode, the world's first party coach, Evan Cudworth, sat down with personal trainer and entrepreneur, Brandon Hultman. The conversation was as insightful as it was intriguing, delving into the unique intersection of partying, mental health, and personal growth.
Evan Cudworth, a self-proclaimed party coach, has a unique mission: to defeat social anxiety and hangovers. His goal is simple, yet profound: he wants people to party more and live with fewer regrets. He believes that humans have an intrinsic need to let loose, to release pressure, and to find healthy outlets for their energy. His vision is to help people find healthier pathways to do just that.
Brandon Hultman, on the other hand, shared his personal journey from partying to fitness and personal growth. He is a self-employed personal trainer, an app developer, and is currently working on a book about addiction and recovery. His experiences have shaped his perspective on partying and its effects on mental health.
During the conversation, they discussed the role of partying in human behavior. Evan noted that partying allows people to ease their inhibitions and connect with others. However, he also pointed out that partying often becomes an unhealthy release valve for many people.
Brandon's journey with partying was similar. Initially, partying made him feel like he belonged. It was fun, and it helped him connect with others. But over time, it became destructive. After he turned 21 and could legally purchase alcohol, his partying escalated into a morning-to-night routine. Eventually, it led to several near-death experiences and a battle with depression.
They also discussed the concept of fun and how it changes over time. For Brandon, fun has evolved from partying and letting loose to living in the present and focusing on personal growth and development. He finds joy in being productive, working on his fitness app, writing his book, and helping people on a larger scale.
One of the key takeaways from the discussion was the idea of resilience. As Brandon pointed out, one of the biggest lessons from his journey with addiction was the power of resilience and perseverance. He emphasized the importance of trying, failing, and getting back up.
The conversation ended on a hopeful note, with both Evan and Brandon agreeing that life is more interesting and enjoyable without excessive drinking. Yes, life is still a roller coaster, full of ups and downs. But as Evan said, not drinking lets you put your hands up on the roller coaster and truly experience the ride.
The podcast shed light on the often overlooked aspects of partying and its impact on mental health. It served as a reminder that while partying can be a way to let loose and have fun, it's also important to find healthy outlets for our energy and to live a life with fewer regrets.
