In today's session, we discussed the importance of social skills and how they impact our mental health. We both shared stories about being introverted in certain environments and finding true comfort. We found that it's essential to be ourselves and lead with good energy, learning that it's okay to take the initiative.

In this weeks session we talked about the difference between being an empath and being aware of the feelings of others. We felt it was important to sense but not to absorb and carry others emotions. To end off our main topic we talked about the risk of being an empath (being easily forgiving, lack of boundaries, emotional fatigue, losing yourself) For hot topics we discussed walking on eggshells with friends, current HBCU culture, and the TV show "tell me lies"
In this session, we explored the nature of control in life, realizing that the present moment is the only thing we truly have control over. We also discussed how we could be living life more fully, addressing some misconceptions about ourselves. The conversation moved into whether caring about others' perceptions is necessary and debated if their ideas about us are our responsibility. For the hot topics, we delved into the use of sick hours for mental health days and touched on Glorilla’s latest album, including her gospel song.
In this session, we explored how healing is a non-linear journey and how maintaining a opened mind can lead to better handling of certain situations. We also delved into generational differences in approaches to healing, comparing how our generation and the previous one deal with emotional struggles. Additionally, we touched on the idea of emotional poverty, reflecting on how some of the things we desire may be tied to unfulfilled voids.
For this sessions we talked about some of the limiting beliefs we had and how as we get older there are things that we need to unlearn and relearn we talked about things like expectations, putting our selves in boxes, excusing peoples behavior, and toxic mentalities. For hot topics we talked about the health care system, dating young, celebrities being jack of all trades.
We started out catching up and then began a conversation about our priorities and what we feel they should be when it comes to life fulfillment. We discussed whether life should be more logical or emotional, whether we should live more freely or be more disciplined to feel fulfilled. While life needs some sort of structure, we felt that it’s the little things that count. As we age, we seek more simplicity (slow mornings, dependable people, good sleep, peace of mind). We pondered whether things in life come to you or if you have to fight for fulfillment. For hot topics, we discussed the duality in people and the idea that gossiping isn’t true bonding.
In this session, we dive into the concept of assertiveness, and solitude exploring how it shapes our interactions and the role of common sense in daily life. We also unpack the idea of people "matching energy" and how having expectations of others can often lead to disappointment. With that being said it's important to pour that back into yourself and alway stay true to yourself. for hot topic we briefly discuss being demure and the movie "it ends with us"
For this session, we spent some time catching up before diving into topics like "Is Blindness Bliss?", Consumerism, "The American Dream," 9-5 jobs, idols and influences. We explored the struggle of missing when the blinders were on, but ultimately ended the conversation on a positive note. For our hot topics, we discussed "first day of school outfits" and the new generation.
In this session, Coco and Riya take some time to reflect on their year. Have we accomplished our goals, or do we have new ones? We settle in on the realization that we haven't been giving ourselves enough grace and explore what that looks like. We honor the parts of us that are curious about the future while also acknowledging that we don't have to have everything figured out.
