3. Correct focus when we struggle with Social Anxiety- *Focus Awareness Exercise*.  With Social Anxiety, our focus tends to be INWARDS (on our internal jumble of negative thoughts and emotions) and OUTWARDS (constantly looking for a confirmation of ‘negative judgement’).  


We will learn simple, but effective *Focus Awareness Skill* that will keep us FOCUSED ON THE TASK AT HAND.

What is Worry?

While worrying and feeling nervous is something that all human beings experience, as with many things in life, too much of something may not be good for you.

Normal anxiety can become a problem when it:

  • Becomes excessive;
  • Feels uncomfortable and intrusive in our day-to-day functioning;
  • Is persistent– always seems to be around;
  • Causes us significant distress;
  • Stops us from getting a good-night sleep.

In this podcast, you will learn about:

1. Understanding Worry.

The first thing we'll cover is WHAT WORRYING IS. How it happens, why it happens, what happens to our bodies when we worry, the lot.

2. Positive and negative beliefs about worry.

It may surprise you that we hold POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE BELIEFS ABOUT WORRYING. Both can actually keep us in 'vicious worry cycle' that's so hard to get out of. But more at the event!

3. Problem solving.
