What is podcast SEO? In this episode Andi chats with Brittany Herzberg (the queen of SEO) and breaks down how we can use SEO for our podcasts in a way that doesn’t make me want to run away screaming.
Brittany Herzberg is an SEO strategist and copywriter who has been using SEO to increase podcast discoverability for her own podcast and her clients’ podcasts for several years. She is good at explaining concepts like SEO keywords and visibility in a way that is simple, but very affective.

How to get your podcast SEO right
Here's the one thing you should implement in your podcast if you’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start and that is…making sure that your episode titles are 60 characters or less. Getting into this habit will be super helpful for you as you are starting your podcast. Like Brittany said during our conversation, it helps your ideal listener know what the episode is going to be about (because the title doesn’t get cut off with an ellipsis). And whenever you interview someone make sure to use their name in the title as well, so that when people are searching for that person, your episode comes up! (Okay, I know that was two things, but they were two small things, so hopefully that’s okay.)

Main Takeaways
Pinterest is a powerful search engine, not a social media platform—perfect for evergreen podcast marketing.
You don’t have to be a designer or a tech wizard to create effective pins.
A few well-made pins each month can keep working for you long after you post them.
Focus on making it easy for people to find your podcast episodes and take the next step with you.
Sustainable podcast marketing is possible when you choose strategies (like Pinterest!) that work with your busy life, not against it.

How do you actually sit down and write an awesome podcast episode? The short answer…experiment a lot. The long answer is this episode. And one of my favorite parts is when Whitney breaks down how to create an amazing podcast episode out of a bad interview.

Here’s the one thing you should implement in your podcast if you’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to start and that is to experiment. Try something new. The best way to figure out what your listeners like is to try something new and see how they respond. And don’t get me wrong this doesn’t have to be big experiments. This could be something as simple as changing up the way you say your outro, or choosing a topic that feels a little outside of your comfort zone. Whatever you choose to do, make sure to track how your listeners react to it and track what you think about it too. Then you’ll know if you should try to incorporate it into your podcast or not.
