Andy is extensively trained in the combat sport and martial art form of Muay Thai with over a decade of experience. He’s a well-respected instructor owning his own gym in Seattle, WA, Muok Boxing and Social Club. Andy is a Doctor in Physical Therapy as well and implements that in catering to the unique needs of each student.
Andy believes that all coaches and students are equals in many ways, that those who train with him are priorities at his gym, and that you can make meaningful connections via training together. This definitely reflects the way he operates Muok Boxing.

Today's episode focuses on Marfan Syndrome. Marfan Syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects connective tissue, the strong fibers that support organs and structures in the body. Since this disorder is not vastly known or talked about I wanted to bring more awareness to it.
In this episode, I'm joined by Cassie Bartolomey - a hardworking mother of 3, a go-getter, wife, boss lady, and a friend who has lived life with Marfan Syndrome. Today's episode includes talking points like having gratitude even when times get hard, having confidence in who you are no matter what labels are put on you, and what mindset shifts you can adopt to elevate your life.

"What is Marfan Syndrome: Marfan syndrome is an inherited disorder that affects connective tissue — the fibers that support and anchor your organs and other structures in your body. Marfan syndrome most commonly affects the heart, eyes, blood vessels and skeleton.
People with Marfan syndrome are usually tall and thin with unusually long arms, legs, fingers and toes. The damage caused by Marfan syndrome can be mild or severe. If your aorta — the large blood vessel that carries blood from your heart to the rest of your body — is affected, the condition can become life-threatening.
Treatment usually includes medications to keep your blood pressure low to reduce the strain on your aorta. Regular monitoring to check for damage progression is vital. Many people with Marfan syndrome eventually require preventive surgery to repair the aorta."

Enjoy some banter? How about an entertaining ramble? Well, today’s episode includes both! Co-hosting with me is Bob Walters, host of the Locked Up Sports podcast out of New York. Bob joins me for my series “Lessons I’ve Learned From Movies” and today’s movie is Coming to America with Eddie Murphy, the late, James Earl Jones, Shari Headley and Arsenio Hall. A classic right?
Being a native New Yorker myself, this movie is definitely nostalgic for me! It’s also still so funny no matter how many years later you’re watching it!
For those who haven’t seen it, here’s the story:
Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) is an African prince with all the riches and powerful one could ever want, but he wants the ability to choose his own wife and someone who will love him for who he is and not his money. He doesn’t want an arranged marriage but to travel to America and find his wife-to-be there. So, he goes to Queens, New York City with his right-hand man, Semmi (Arsenio Hall). He disguises himself as a foreign student and gets an entry level job at a fast food restaurant where people don’t think much of him at all. He ends up falling in love with his perfect woman (Shari Headley) but struggles to reveal his real identity to her. He also is afraid to tell his father (James Earl Jones), the king, what he’s done while in New York. Experience all the characters ups and downs, the prince’s quest for true love, the hilarious stereotypes for New Yorkers, and of course, the great lessons this movie can teach us!
In today’s episode, Bob and I both talk about a few lessons we’ve each learned from this blockbuster film. We also play a fun East Coast / West Coast comparison game at the end - listen till the end for that!
