Episode Description Trigger warning: This podcast episode touches on many sensitive topics like addiction and alcoholism. If these are triggering for you, please use caution when listening or skip this episode for now. One cliché goes that no man is an island - no one stands alone. But there's also a thin line that divides caring for someone and being codependent on them. How do you know that your relationship is already the latter?
To answer this question, I talked to someone who stared at it in the face - and thrived.
This episode features Tamala Shaw, a co-dependent survivor now helping others heal from the same situation through her advocacy, codependentme.org. From her experience, she shares the telltale signs that you are in a codependent relationship.
She also talks about what it's like to be in one - how it feels to lose yourself in taking care of someone else, and how to ultimately reclaim your power, learn to set boundaries, and be unapologetically you.
If you're struggling with codependency or think you might be in a codependent relationship, this episode is for you.

Though sex is a prevalent topic in society, it remains taboo in many social circles. This may be due to the fact that sex is often seen as a private matter, and discussions about it are often considered to be inappropriate in public settings.
Additionally, there is a strong stigma surrounding sex in many cultures, which can make people reluctant to discuss it openly.
However, this reluctance to talk about sex openly can lead to a lack of education about sexual health, practices, and identities, which can ultimately be harmful.
In this sexually charged episode, Yael and I finally address the elephant in the room and touch on topics many don't want to deal with, from breaking away with labels to how to talk about sex to children, how people's experiences and interactions with society affect our perception of sex, and a whole lot more.
Mind you, with my background, this is an uncomfortable discussion - but a necessary one if I hope to contribute into creating a safe, nonjudgmental space not only for others but more so for myself.
So lower down your inhibitions, open up your mind, and be educated about the power of sex and its role in your identity.

As social creatures, humans have a deep need and longing to belong whether to a culture, a community, a group, or even just a pair. When we feel like we're part of something larger than ourselves, we're happier and more content. However, we also struggle with fitting in. We all want to be seen as unique individuals, but we also want to feel like we're part of a group. It's a delicate balance, and it's one that we often battle with throughout our lives.
I believe no one else understands this issue more deeply than my guest for this episode, Sue Beauregard. She was not only adopted, but she's also mixed race, and grew up in a predominantly white neighborhood.
Her story is one of both belonging and not belonging, and how she's navigated those waters throughout her life until she found the path where she's free from labels and be authentic and raw.
Sue's story is one that I think we can all relate to on some level, and I'm excited to share it with you. So without further ado, here's my conversation with Sue Beauregard.

What is your self-worth? Usually, when I ask this question to others (and even to myself), they talk about their accomplishments, experiences, and values. But are these the real metrics of one’s worth? And if it’s not, what is? Today, I share space with a sister, Jazzy, a mindset coach helping women discover their self-worth. We busted some of the common misconceptions people have about worthiness and authenticity. Then, Jazzy will walk us through powerful techniques to finally claim our identities and stand by them unapologetically.
This episode is filled with plenty of nuggets of wisdom, so choose the ones that resonate with you. But if I can give you a takeaway, it’s this: you are worthy, and there are ways to help you find it out for yourself.

Why do people suffer from self-limiting beliefs, and why are these critical for women, especially those of color? How can one break the chains brought by ancestral wounds and generational trauma? In this episode, Dulce and I dive right into one of the deepest root causes of poor boundaries, guilt, shame, and difficulty of managing emotions that are so common for people of color. We unapologetically start from the place of ancestral pain and how this impacts who we are today. Ultimately, the goal becomes to make it easier for women to get the help that they need when they need it to start the journey of healing. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to be raw and candid about my struggles over the past few years living as an immigrant and a person of color. My hope is that this episode will help all women heal from the inside out. The power of our voice and stories matters.

This episode is such a gift! Hearing Victoria’s survival story has opened the stage for me to share my own sexual abuse experience as well. Victoria’s life story is an entire book of a collection of life lessons that at a very young age, led her to be the amazing coach that she is right now.

This is your Coach Unapologetic apologizing for being MIA for a long time without even saying a peep! I know how off brand this is but part of my unapologetic movement is knowing when to apologize and as relentless you are in being unapologetic, you also want to be relentless in owning when you know you dropped the ball - no shame but with love and heart.
So in this episode, I shared with you a piece of massive learnings that I’ve been being fed this 2021 and I recorded this in the midst of all the pain and I almost did not want to publish it because I feel better now and I can come up with livier episode but I think it’s important.
I hope this episode will serve you.

There’s this notion that to be an unapologetic person, you have to be fierce, strong, and well, unapologetic. In this episode, I am bringing light to being unapologetic and still grieve, feel pain and be in the process of healing.
You can be healing and be unapologetic.
Let’s normalize going through bad things in life and talking about it all because people have been experiencing grief and sadness for the longest time but that has always been seen as weak and unhealthy.
Let me be vulnerable with you all and share how I process through the deepest grief I’ve experienced in my life thus far.
