Join us for a journey to the depths where we percolate in the rhythms of change.
We honor the shifting seasons, from equinox to eclipse portal, and explore how these cosmic events shape our inner and outer worlds.
As we steep in the astrological new year and embrace spring’s bloom, we navigate the ebbs and flows of life.
Maya shares her experiences with Pluto squaring her sun, embodying the energy of death and rebirth, while Elle grapples with Saturn's influence on her south node, prompting her to move away from what's held her back.
Together, they reflect on how these shifts influence familial and romantic relationships, career paths, and our understanding of self.
Time flies, and we confront the fleeting nature of reality, recognizing the illusion of control we often cling to. We discuss the many timelines we live in, the universe’s constant expansion, and the impermanence of everything.
Through the wise words of oracle card pulls, we gain perspective on the month’s themes and revelations.
As always, thank you for being part of our sacred listening community.
Your presence is a privilege we hold dear.

Welcome back to The Vortex, sweetest listener <3 This month’s episode is a little soul sister catch-up (ketchup, get it???)...
With two Oracle cards as our launch pad, we cover...
- Our favorite go-to midnight snacks.
- Our vessels. Specifically, when and how and what tunes us more deeply into these bodies we call home: food, exercise, apps that remind us to breathe (linked below), and more.
- A contemplation on the beauty in meeting extremes, prompted by the second card that came out during the episode, "Fall Into My Arms" from the Starseed Oracle. To experience the highs and the lows gives us valuable perspective and invites gratitude in all seasons of life - even the challenging ones, because they show us what we want to manifest more (and less) of. In this universe where the laws of polarity grace every corner, clarity comes when we can embrace the extremes.
We love you! Until next month, VORTEX OUT.

Welcome to this month's episode, sweetest listener! Join us as we delve into the depths, per ushe.
In this episode, we grapple with the strange fear of actually getting what we want. We ask ourselves the question, "Why does it feel scary to actually GET the thing I've been saying I wanted all this time?" We emphasize the importance of gratitude for the present moment and the acceptance of ourselves in the here and now.
Riding the wave of an unexpected tangent, we find ourselves in a fresh introvert chronicle, unraveling the difficulties we face in amplifying our voices in a world that often drowns out the soft and the subtle.
We share their mutual challenges in taking up space within social interactions and the frequent instances when our soft-spoken voices go unheard. The conversation touches on the uniquely un-opinionated presence we often bring to our interactions because of the wide spiritual lenses through which we see the world.
Thank you for being here as we navigate the twists and turns of the human experience! So much love for you, sweet community, and until next time, VORTEX OUT!

Hi, Vortex fam! This week, Elle's sweet, authentic, and wise soul sister Kyla is back! In this conversation, we explore the art of cultivating a secure attachment style in a world where the only constant is change. We reflect specifically on the dynamic nature of our identities, acknowledging times past when we did NOT embody secure attachment styles, and the relationship challenges that manifested as a result. Thank goddess for the gift of learning from past missteps.
We extend an invitation to you, sweetest listener, to contemplate the meaning of secure attachment and emotional availability in your own life. Join us as we grapple with questions like, "What does secure attachment mean to me?" and, "Is healthy detachment synonymous with secure attachment?"
To the best of our abilities at our current levels of self-discovery, we share our insights and perspectives on these big concepts with the intention of reaching a more profound understanding of the intricate dance between attachment and detachment in the tapestry of our lives. Thank you for your sacred listening, we love you!!!

We're BACK for Q&A part twoooo! Last week's questions were too juicy and good for us to leave all the rest behind, so today we sit with 3 more of our favorite listener questions and in true vortex fashion, dive into DEEP (like, 30 minutes long kinda deep) contemplations around each one. We speak on: Our advice to someone who is looking to step more into their divine feminine amidst this masculine world. (This answer is nottt what you think it's gonna be). Our advice to someone dealing with the college transition: adjusting, homesickness, and missing family. We dig deep into the vault of nostalgic college memories for this one! Our favorite fruits and what they symbolize to us. We close out this visit to the vortex with a resonant card pull from Kim Kran's Wild Unknown archetype deck. We love you!

Hiii, Vortex! Today we're having a big ol' chat about having a secure attachment style to life! (Attachment theory is a psychological concept coined by psychoanalyst John Bowlby in the 1950s which outlines how your bond with your primary caregivers sets the foundation for how you navigate relationships throughout life.)
We kick it off by telling you about Maya's current state of exhaustion, and realize real time that it's because her soul is living in three different timelines at once... the present moment, the one where a certain outcome she's waiting to hear about does come to fruition, and the one where it doesn't. Damn.
Then, we pop on our psychologist hats and dive into attachment styles as they relate to our current mega life changes and unknowns - emphasizing the secure attachment style we're both striving to embody.
Elle then tells us about the Icarus energy she's actively summoning into her life (she's wanting to fly closer to the sun than ever before outside of the comforts of home). We casually pivot to the tattoos we want before two perfect oracle cards summarize this ethereal trip to the Vortex.

Hiii Vortex! This week, we're joined by psychic medium of astronomical proportions, Katelyn Poland (yes, the Katelyn who gave Maya the reading that's featured in our 3 no's and a monkey episode!). We have the privilege of learning the ins and outs of what it's like being able to communicate fully with spirits, angels, guides, and the dead. We dive in by asking Katelyn how she discovered her gifts. She shares that they were present since childhood, but working with a mentor and entering motherhood in 2019 were the catalysts for her to claim them fully. Since then, she's been on a journey of unlearning what her religious upbringing taught her about psychics and mediumship being taboo, and continuing to navigate being a human who happens to be in constant communication with the other side.
Katelyn tells us what it's like to channel at such a high level and how she creates boundaries with spirit by shutting down communication when necessary. She shares her belief that everyone has channeling gifts and abilities, and affirms Maya's recent claiming of her own psychic gifts. She then casually channels Elle's guides, who share that her truth REALLY wants to be expressed through musical offerings. This ep will blow your mind and crack your heart open in awe of just how thin the veil is between our world and those beyond - and we know you'll love and appreciate Katelyn as much as we do. <3

Welcome back to the Vortex, sweetest listener! Today we are talking about an all too familiar topic: ANXIETY. We kick it off by sharing the witchy synchronicity that led us to this conversation... hint hint: soul sister telepathy is becoming a very real thing. We dive the heck into it with the remembrance that our body is SO WISE, and anxiety is one of its many ways of communicating that something is out of whack. Maya reminds us of her lifelong journey with anxiety and the Mount Everest she climbed, overcoming daily panic attacks between the ages of 5 and 10. Elle speaks to her beef with pharmaceuticals and reaching for band aid solutions instead of root cause healing. As always, there's nuance to it all.
We take a deep look at the way society urges us to bypass our feelings in service of pushing forward, and how anxiety-causing that inherently is. We express our deep belief in the importance of taking time to listen in, feel, and address anxiety as holistically as possible (and IF that includes bringing Western medicine into the holistic mix, that's PERFECT). We round it out by discussing what it looks like to design lives that are as anxiety-proof as possible. Epic card pulls bring us home! We love you!

Hiii, Vortex! What an ep this is. Today, Elle's recent deviation from a daily spiritual practice is our launching pad. We get into the nuanced lessons this time of "getting off track" has taught her, and the pressure we put on ourselves to remain militantly consistent with our practices. Specifically, we examine what a "spiritual practice" actually is - IS it sitting on the mat in meditation every day? Or can that definition be expanded? We also speak to our cyclical nature as humans and practicing self-forgiveness in seasons where consistency wanes.
A rather large and wild tangent also inhabits the dead center of this episode, in which we unpack cancel culture, particularly around the recent Colleen Ballinger scandal that's taken the Youtube world by storm. We wrap it all back around by returning to nuance as the centerpiece of it all, and conclude that nothing - from committing to a daily spiritual practice to cancelling a Youtube star - is black and white. Wheee, thanks for coming along for the ride! We love ya! Vortex out.

This week, we're welcoming THE ICONIC Leya Van Doren to the Vortex and woooosh, are her words RICH with meaning, wisdom, and deep consideration. Leya is one of the best-spoken and most insightful people we have ever had a conversation with and we are buzzing with excitement for you to hear this convo! IT'S SO GOOD.
We start by diving into Leya's recent move to Washington, DC, and marvel at the way cities create a microcosm for the full spectrum of the human experience. Then, we get to hear Leya's uber-unique origin story growing up in a 10-person family with a Soviet mother and moving to an ashram at age 14. She speaks to her deep roots in music, homeopathy, and spiritual practice (particularly in the yogic & Hindu traditions). We hold deep contemplations around the commercialization of spirituality and the rich Indigenous & cultural traditions that the modern world has separated so fully from their source. Leya believes that nature is our greatest teacher when it comes to returning to the purity of these spiritual practices, and she shares her most postent lessons & learnings from nature as an herbalist!
We freaking ADORE Leya and know that you will, too!

Vortex, welcome to THE holistic conversation about all things alcohol! We are both in very interesting seasons of reevaluating our relationship with this substance, so of course we had to capture it on the mic. Maya is listening to her body's loud call to take a break from drinking, and is almost a full month sober as of the release of this episode! She shares about how she feels and what it was like to make this decision from a deep place of self-love.
Elle is fielding her first bout of temptation in her 3 years of sobriety, and puts words to how she's working through it. We break it all down, dig deep, and come to the epic conclusion that everyone's journey with alcohol is completely different and NOTHING about sobriety, sober-curiosity, or choosing to drink is black and white. As long as you're bringing mindfulness to the conversation, we believe it's all gonna be okay. We love youuuu!

Hiii, Vortex! Elle is BACK from a 3-week family trip to Japan and whewww, she's got stories babes. We take a beat of gratitude for being back to our regularly scheduled programming of being forced (in the best way) to sit down with each other every week and put words to our feelings in real time. Maya starts us off by sharing how this epic Pisces Full Moon (which is also blue and super - whoa dude) has been working on her via physical ascension symptoms, exhaustion, and big ol' revelations about riding the waves of life with as little resistance as possible.
Then, we get into Elle's tales and takeaways from Japan - tiny napkins, foamy soap, bidets everywhere, clean escalators, and so much more. We of COURSE can't help but put a big fat spiritual spin on all of it, marveling at the ways Japanese culture radiates reverence, respect for self, each other, and the planet, devotion, and kindness. Maya is moved and inspired as hell. We hope your soul parts are lit up by these glorious and poignant lessons from Japan! Love youuu!
