Transitions, Life As A Newly Empty Nester!
Transitions! We all have them and this time I am talking about the shift from mom mode to empty nest life. Emotions that I didn’t expect and how can I give you insight for what might come your way as you enter new waters in parenting. Hindsight is always 20/20 but I share how I could see the transition taking place as Logan got a little more independence when he started driving. How to find the balance that worked for me between “letting him fly” all while keeping boundaries, trusting him and being ok with him learning the hard way. I open up about how I did my best to keep a solid foundation to still be his go to person and share what that looked like. Not always smooth sailing mom moments but the value of being authentic with him seems to have paid off! What is next for me as an empty nester? How did I prepare for this new chapter? All in the podcast, so come get nourished with me!    How to connect with me?Instagram: @angelamarie_az_   @thenourishedlifepodcast TikTok: nourishedlife_angEmail: thenourishedlifepodcast@gmail.com

Guest Theresa - Down Over 200 Pounds! How Did She Do It?
At 41 years old, while traveling through Europe, Theresa had her aha moment: if she didn’t change course, her weight gain would soon rob her of the life she wanted to live. That realization sparked a journey of resilience, self-discovery, and transformation. Theresa opens up about her lifelong struggle with food, body image, and yo-yo dieting—and how she ultimately lost 200 pounds and learned to maintain it. From the painful mixed messages she received about food growing up, to the harsh reality of “I simply can’t eat as much as other people,” she shares the truths she had to face in order to build a sustainable way of living. With the help of a nutritionist and weight loss therapist, Theresa embraced balance over perfection. She learned to silence food “noise,” practice the 3-bite rule, and create her own plan instead of chasing fads. Today, she focuses on movement she enjoys, cutting out added sugar, and making choices that support her health long-term. Her story is a powerful reminder that everyone’s journey looks different—and that progress, not perfection, is what truly matters. 👉 Community Spotlight:The Giving Closet at Gilbert High School provides clothing, shoes, toiletries, and supplies to students and families in need. Will Eating More Meat Impact Your Cholesterol? Let’s Get Real
Is eating red meat actually raising your cholesterol — or are we blaming the wrong foods? In this episode, Claire Duchesneau, longevity coach at HealthspanMD, dives deep into one of the most misunderstood topics in nutrition: the connection between meat, saturated fat, and cholesterol. Red meat, in particular, has long been villainized for its saturated fat content, but the science is far more nuanced than most headlines suggest. Backed by insights from experts like Dr. Gabrielle Lyon and Dr. Don Layman, this episode explores what really impacts your cholesterol — and spoiler alert, it’s not your weekly steak dinner. 🔍 What You’ll Learn: Why saturated fat may raise LDL slightly — and why that’s not the full picture The role refined carbs and excess calories play in damaging your cholesterol profile Why context matters (how you eat meat matters more than how often) The difference between total cholesterol and more accurate risk markers like triglycerides and ApoB Simple, empowering strategies for eating animal protein without fear How to combine lean proteins, unsaturated fats, and fiber to support heart health and longevity Whether you’re carnivore-curious, trying to hit protein goals, or just tired of nutrition confusion — this episode gives you the clarity (and freedom) you’ve been craving. 🔗 Mentioned in This Episode: Dr. Gabrielle Lyon – Author, longevity expert & protein-forward physician Dr. Don Layman – Protein metabolism researcher & thought leader in optimal nutrition Soluble fiber-rich foods for lowering cholesterol (oats, chia, beans) At-home cholesterol test recommendations If you enjoy being nourished, you can follow, like, and subscribe to us on… YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/@TheNourishedLifePodcast Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/thenourishedlifepodcast/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thenourishedlifepodcast?lang=en
