45 What Gabby’s Dollhouse Taught Me About Joy (and Why Every Mum Needs to Hear It)

What a kids’ movie taught me about joy, presence, and rediscovering play. Because sometimes the reminder you need shows up in cat ears and glitter.

Ever feel like life’s become one big to-do list? Between work, school runs, and meal planning, even fun starts to feel like another box to tick. If you’ve forgotten how to actually play — this one’s for you.

In this story episode, I’m taking you to an unexpected place: the cinema.
What started as a half-term trip to see Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie turned into a full-blown reminder about joy, presence, and the power of play.

You’ll hear what a children’s film taught me about rediscovering that part of ourselves that gets buried under routines, responsibilities, and endless “shoulds.”
Spoiler: this isn’t about the movie — it’s about remembering how to feel alive again.

You’ll hear:
✨ The moment I realised how serious life had become (and why that’s a problem)
✨ The surprising link between play, creativity, and emotional wellbeing
✨ The science behind how play boosts empathy, problem-solving, and happiness
✨ A gentle reminder that joy isn’t a reward — it’s your way home to yourself

43 What Ada Lovelace (and a £14.5 Million Decision) Taught Me About Following My Calling

Ever feel like you’ve outgrown your old identity — the job title, the routine, the version of you that made sense before motherhood?
This episode is your permission slip to unbrand yourself.

Recorded after attending an event at Ada Lovelace’s former home — the world’s first computer programmer and a mum of three coding in a corset — Jools shares how Ada’s courage to be seen, and Matthew McConaughey’s $14.5 million “no” to Hollywood typecasting, both reveal the same truth:
If you want a more meaningful, purpose-led life, you have to be willing to let go of who the world thinks you are.

In this episode, you’ll learn:
✨ How to spot when you’ve outgrown an identity that no longer fits.
✨ Why holding your nerve in uncertainty is the ultimate act of self-trust.
✨ A creative reflection tool (The Brand Shield) to help you rediscover who you are beneath the labels.

41 Why You Stop Trusting Your Gut and How to Get It Back.

Ever catch yourself polling your WhatsApp group before making a decision — from career moves to what’s for dinner? You’re not alone. In this episode, Jools shares a hilarious but honest look at how working mums (yep, us!) keep outsourcing our own intuition in the name of “being responsible.”

From reheated coffee to soggy cereal mornings, Jools unpacks the deeper truth behind overthinking — that perfectionism and people-pleasing often drown out our gut instinct. Drawing on a quote from spiritual intelligence pioneer Danah Zohar, she explores how to quiet the outside noise and strengthen your inner compass

The Pink Era- What's Next for Mamas Flight Path Podcast? 🦩

Hello gorgeous mamas. Change is something we know all too well, isn’t it?

One minute you’ve just about nailed maternity leave, the next you’re back at work and trying to figure it all out again.

This summer, my own path shifted. I was made redundant. And after years of feeling like a caged hen in corporate life, I knew I didn’t want to go back. I wanted to be free-range.

So here I am, choosing creativity, community and a different way forward. I’m calling it my Pink Era. If you know the story of flamingo mamas, you’ll know why.

We lose our colour when everything goes into our babies, but when they grow, the pink comes back.

In this trailer, I’m letting you in on what this new season of Mama’s Flight Path will be:

  • The honest highs and lows of designing a creative life after redundancy

  • A sisterhood of magnetic mamas mentoring each other and ditching the guilt

  • And a little “love note” each week to carry you through

This is not about having it all figured out. It’s about unbecoming what isn’t really you, and finding the courage to fly free.

Follow the show wherever you listen, and share it with a mama who’s ready to get her pink back!

Dolly shares wisdom and stories from her groundbreaking book Leaving the Ladder Down, based on 200 interviews with women redefining career and motherhood. We talk about the cultural taboos around maternity leave, the power of human conversations at work, and why feeling “terrified” about going back shouldn’t be normal.

This is a candid, funny, and deeply relatable exploration of what it really takes to build a career and raise a family in a system not built for mothers.

👉 If you’ve ever wondered: Can motherhood make me more ambitious? or How do I quiet the guilt when I want both career and kids? — this episode is yours

Mamas Flight Path
28 Motherhood and Ambition: Can You Really Do Both Without Losing Yourself?

Welcome to Mama’s Flight Path ✈️The podcast for you, mama. You, who came back from maternity leave, looked around and thought:
“Wait… who even am I now?”

Hosted by motherhood realist Jools Tyrer, this is the space where we ditch the BS and unpack what actually happens when motherhood and career goals collide. Spoiler: it’s not always pretty. But it can be powerful.

Each week, Jools brings you real stories from working mamas who’ve ditched the default and decided to make work… well, work, on their terms. Plus expert tools, mindset shifts, and relatable moments to help you find clarity when everything feels up in the air (and on fire).

✨ Whether you're back in the office, building something new during nap time, or crying in your car post nursery drop-off, this is your space.

Not just to return.
To return on purpose.

☀️ This week on the pod…

What actually happens to your ambition after becoming a mum?

Spoiler: it doesn’t disappear. It shape-shifts.

In this laugh-out-loud, tear-up-a-little episode of Mama’s Flight path, Jools sits down with Tiffany Scott and Alex Morgan founders of the unapologetically honest Mambition podcast to talk motherhood, ambition, and the beautifully messy collision of the two.

We get real about:
💼 Why the traditional definition of “success” doesn’t work for mamas👩‍👧‍👦 The identity crisis nobody warns you about after maternity leave🧘‍♀️ Why self-care isn’t selfish, it’s your secret weapon🤯 The mental load, career curveballs, and perfectionism (ugh, that old friend)👯‍♀️ The power of community, honesty, and holding your nerve

Whether you're plotting a career comeback, stuck in the work-kid drama lama, or whisper-screaming in your car after nursery drop-off, this one’s for you friend.

Because motherhood isn't the end of your ambition. It’s the start of something even better: your version of success.
