Episode 113: Home is Where the OM Is: Practical Advice for Inviting In Joy with Carrie Leskowitz

Episode 112: Designing a Room for Your Child the Supports their Health + Well-Being

Colors play a vital role in our children's growth and development.

Since colors are energetic wavelengths with different frequencies, they influence our bodies. Like all other energies, children are even more sensitive to them than we are. Using what we know about color to support our children's individual personalities and biological makeup is important.

When we design their space in a way that takes into consideration we can improve their overall health, physical, mental, and emotional. We can also bring more joy and stability to their daily lives.

This is a subject I am passionate about and could talk for days.

I tried to stick to the basics of how to get started.

You will learn:

  • how to evaluate their needs
  • open communication
  • brainstorm ideas
  • recognize if they are currently over or under-stimulated in their existing space
  • work with what you already have
  • make changes that don't require expensive purchases

Episode 111: Harmonize Your Nervous System by Creating Flow

Have you ever had to focus on the horizon to keep from getting seasick?

It works.

Take it from someone who has a super-sensitive stomach.

Our eyes naturally move to find the next similar thing. It's how we move through the world without constantly falling down.

Contrast provides drama but similarity creates a sense of safety, consciously and subconsciously.

With some practice with this technique, you will elevate how you feel constantly welcomed into each space as you move through your home.

In this episode of the In Her Eyes podcast, Interior Designer and color specialist, Lynne Niehaus shares how you can use a simple design strategy that makes adjoining spaces feel cohesive to create harmony in your home.

You will learn:

  • how to tie spaces together yet still preserve their individual integrity and function.
  • how pull dissimilar spaces together
  • what pieces make good transition choices
  • how to keep colorful spaces from feeling isolated from more neutral spaces
  • how to get a "bird's eye view" of your living space to create flow

Your nervous system is both the director and producer in your experience of the story of your life. Creating a home that harmoniously supports its function will give you more peace and joy throughout your days and nights.

Episode 110: How to Use Color to Boost Your Mood

Do you remember the time when you were passionate about a color?

I love how toddlers proudly and confidently announce their favorite colors.

There is no denying that the color they love is one that they feel; all the way to their bones!

Color has a vibrational effect on all of us, even when we have stopped communicating our passion for it.

In this episode, I share with you the ways that you can use the colors that directly affect your mood during this time of decreased sunlight.

I teach you which colors work best and why.

How to identify the right color/s for you.

I share with you the ways to incorporate them in your decor and other areas of your life, as well as the visionary process for using them to alter your vibration and create an environment ripe for healing and relief to take place.

Episode 109: Color Trends- How to Know if They're Right for You

What does it mean to be trendy?

When clients announce to me that they are “not trendy” upon first consultation, I know that it means one or a combination of these 3 things:

  • “I have definitive opinions about what I do and don’t like.”

  • “I want the selections in my space to have staying power, i.e. I don’t want my space to feel dated in a couple of years.”

  • “I want to feel seen in my space.”

Many times they have invested in products or services that haven’t aged well.

Or conversely, they have made choices they loved in the past.  And now what they see in the retail market isn’t their vibe, yet they feel the need to update.

I often get asked about the Colors promoted as “color of the year” by the different companies.

Specifically, I get asked what I think.

I have come to recognize that it is a loaded question.

In this episode, I tell you EXACTLY what I think.  The muzzle’s off!

I have some pretty strong opinions:

They get cerebral: bringing in Rudolf Steiner’s writings on color energetics.  His analysis of color he refers to as Peach Blossom in his 1921 lectures on color is relevant in this discussion of Pantone’s selection of Peach Fuzz for 2024 over 100 years later! The energetics of a color matter.

They get subjective: I was sailing the deep, history-laden parts of the Mediterranean when Benjamin Moore’s Blue Nova and it’s corresponding color palette was unveiled.

They get biased: a girl’s gotta have favorites!

I explain the difference between a “trend”- which is a forecast with underlying significance.  And a “selection”- which is a marketing tactic designed to speak to a particular demographic.

We do live in a consumer-driven society, after all.

Your home should reflect your individuality, inspire you, and propel you forward.

You can understand yourself by understanding how you gravitate toward (or run from!) a color palette and unlock what’s right for YOU!

Episode 108-Awaken to Possibility

Every great feat, invention, or accomplishment began with someone believing in the possibility of its existence.

When you allow yourself to believe in the possibility of what you want in your life,

whether its more money

more joy

healthier body

more clarity

a bigger home;

the path to whatever that desire is begins to form.

What would your life look like if you leaned into the possibility of all of your dreams coming true?

The book that I referenced in this week's episode is The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy.

Episode 107: Storytelling- You Teach Others How to Treat You

Whatever you want to change or affect in 2024 starts with identifying the stories you tell.

What are you continuing to tell yourself that keeps you stuck; repeating the same patterns?

On a recent trip "home", the area where I grew up, I came face-to-face with a story I hadn't recognized. It is easier to blame others than to accept your responsibility for the situation you are in.

That doesn't make the actions of others okay.

But it does change how you get to experience your life.

This episode will help you move into 2024 with the clarity you need to get the results you desire.

Episode 106: Word of the Year 2024: Your Best Year Ever

Do you blame or shame yourself when your New Year's resolutions fall flat?

Every gym owner knows that most people have abandoned their resolutions by the end of February.

I have found that creating a Word of the Year to guide me through the year and serve as a fundamental principle that I can take action from to be far more valuable than setting a New Year's resolution.

It allows me to:

  • focus on my priorities
  • honor my dreams
  • create structure
  • look back with love + compassion for myself
  • see my growth

2023 was a year of introspection, going inward, on a global, energetic scale.

When I chose my word of the year last winter, I didn't know that.

As a result, I was able to see blockages to my alignment that I didn't know existed.

Was it easy?

NO.

Was it necessary for who I desire to be + what I want to create?

100%!

In this episode, I walk you through the questions to ask yourself in reflection as well as the process for selecting a WORD OF THE YEAR for 2024 that helps you align with your dreams.

Episode 105-Emotional Charge

Did you know that the molecules that your body creates when you are happy or excited are lighter + softer than the ones created when you are feeling sad or angry?

In the alternative health and energetic healing world, you learn the path to feeling better is to release the heavy, dense emotions that you have stored in your body because you didn't fully experience it.

We are taught from a young age to suppress our emotions; particularly the negative ones.

So learning to feel our emotions can feel like an overwhelming task.

What if the path to learning to move through negative emotions can be found in spending more time, CONSIDERABLY MORE TIME, in our positive emotions?

When we luxuriate in positive emotions, we raise our vibration. We increase our energy level. We feel lighter (because we are!) and more capable. We can move through more challenging circumstances with less resistance.

Give yourself the gift of joy by relishing the positive.

Episode 104: Numbers as Guides with Cassandra Ares

I have to admit that when I first heard of numerology, I was skeptical. It felt like one more modality assigning meaning to something arbitrary.

Yet I know exactly where I am in this present moment thanks to numbers.

-The time

-The year

-The month

-The day, including the date

-My location, longitude + latitude

My guest interview this week demystifies the field of numerology and explains it from a practical, mom's point of view.

Cassandra Ares, the owner of CassandraFreya, is a tattooed corporate Queen by day, and a badass spirit intuitive by night. She is the Mama to a Fire Fairy and serves by installing the frequency of Faith into one freedom seeker at a time.

Just like her 17-month-old daughter, this conversation is FIRE!

She shares how she uses the insight gained from her daughter's numerology chart to align with her toddler's needs.

She walks us through the different energy bodies and explains our hidden challenges and strengths.

She explains how we can tap into the information held within our own birthdate, our numerology, to align our lives.

The 5 points:

  • Soul Number [Challenge]
  • Karma Number [Challenge]
  • Destiny [Strength]
  • Gift [Strength]
  • Path [Challenge to Strength]

reveal a lifetime (or more!) of information.

Not only does this episode help you unlock powerful information that is at your fingertips, it also illustrates the strength of the bonds built within communities of a like-minded sisterhood.

I share the significant role that Cass's daughter, Freya, has played in my own creative evolution.

It is a magical, mystical journey that will leave you thinking deep thoughts for sure!

Epiosde 102: Saying Yes: The Life-Changing Power of Discernment

Have you ever considered how many times you didn't say “yes” to what you truly wanted?

Saying yes is more than not saying no.

The past few weeks my husband and I shared an incredible vacation visiting the Greek Isles and parts of Italy.

I returned with electric energy within me, feeling whole and connected, while also dealing with ongoing turmoil in my business.

Deciding what to complete first, what actions to take with this energy, gave me the opportunity to discover what I was going to SAY YES to.

I had this opportunity during the time that I was reflecting on this on the time that I was reflecting on my trip to recognize all the time that I didn't say yes to what I really wanted.

You will learn:

  • How to tap into your inner discernment.

  • The art of making your 'yes' a sacred commitment to your truth.

  • How the principles of Human Design align your actions with your unique energy.

  • Reflection on missed opportunities and the importance of aligning your choices with your desires.

  • How to create a life that truly honors your desires, emotions, and authentic self.

When you are only saying yes to the things that set you on fire, you are moving into alignment with the life that you desire to be living.

If you aren't where you wanted to be, the easiest way to bring yourself into that harmony is to fill your plate with those things that set you on fire.

The work that he has done for over 2 decades in helping others build trust in hostile environments can be applied to every relationship in our lives.

Home, work, business, community.  Whether they could use some enhancement or a radical transformation.

Episode 98: Sacred Space for your Dreams: Part One: Clearing Energy

What does “sacred space” mean to you?

It doesn’t have to be in houses of worship. Creating them in your home is a vital step toward a less stressful holiday season.

In this episode, I  discuss how to lean into your own belief systems in order to carve out that space.

I define sacred space so you can discover your path.

You will learn:

  • How to create and maintain sacred spaces in your life, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • The importance of aligning these spaces with your personal beliefs and truths.

  • The power of recognizing and valuing both your own inner sacredness and external rituals.

  • How different belief systems and spiritual paths can lead to a common connection to the divine.

  • The significance of acknowledging that your personal truths may differ but can still unite and empower.

  • Steps to define and establish elements in your life that you consider sacred.

  • Practical techniques for cleansing and elevating your physical space, including the use of candles, salt lamps, incense, sage, and sound.

  • The challenge of balancing a busy life as a woman and the importance of having a sacred space to retreat to.

This episode is part one in a multi-part series and we focus on laying the foundation.

We begin by “clearing the air. “

You will learn multiple methods to cleanse the air (energy) in your home as well as your personal energy.

As busy women doing all the things, we can get lost in all the things. If we don't have a sacred space to come to, it can be really challenging.

So never ever, my friend, forget about your own power to cleanse and elevate.

Episode 97: Design Elements that Build Healthy Habits

Have you ever wondered if the color of your walls and the arrangement of your furniture could be the keys to unlocking your full potential?

In this episode, we're going to be talking about intentionally designing our spaces. Using our physical spaces and how we think about the design of them to support our habits.

There's some things in the standard idea of design, decorating, and interior decorating, that go against our natural ability to incorporate a new habit or to change a current habit.

Oftentimes we feel like we don't have enough space to do the things that we want to do and it's those excuses about the limitations that our homes have that we let creep in when we're trying to build a new set of healthy habits.

Today, I want to just really tell you some of the decorating and design do's and don'ts that can really help you support yourself in these healthy habits.

Systems and solutions that make your life easier.

How to think about things in new ways.

You will learn:

  • The powerful role of color in supporting physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

  • How intentional space design can positively impact your habits and lifestyle.

  • Recognizing design principles that align with or hinder habit formation.

  • The value of looking at things objectively and breaking old patterns.

  • Decor and design do's and don'ts to aid in healthy habit development.

  • Strategies for creating systems and solutions that simplify your life.

  • Shifting your perspective to find solutions within your existing space.

  • The magic of taking action on your vision before making purchases.

You can’t just go out and shop for your vision, your vision has to be inscribed on your heart in order for it to support you at a higher level.

That, my friend, is where the magic lies. You can do anything, you can bring anything into your life. Any habit, any lifestyle change, as long as you set the vision,  commit to it, and begin to take action.

Episode 96: Understanding Energetics with Sarah Beth Green

What do Shamanism and Energetics have to do with everyday life in a modern world?

How does the ancient wisdom of shamanism and the modern practice of energy healing transform your well-being?

What if it can empower you to create a life of balance and harmony?

I have found that being willing and open to embrace new thought models are the very thing that moves me into the life I desire to create for myself and my family.

Our beliefs shape our physical well being. Our physical health.

We have the capacity to reprogram ourselves into a state of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Which is why I have the perfect guest this week to dive into this subject.

Sarah Beth Green is a shamanic energy healer at the Yarning Shaman who works with individuals who want to unlock and understand their own individual gifts and energy body and connect more deeply with indigenous wisdom.

In this episode, I introduce you to modern day Shaman who uses her training and gifts associated with the movement of energy through your body, your environment, and beyond to help you align yourself with the rhythms of a life lived with less dis-ease.

You will learn:

  • How your beliefs and  thoughts are stored in places in your body, not just your mind.

  • About the power you innately hold to create and control your inner and outer world.

  • What the role of energy healing and shamanism is in identifying and clearing stored experiences and trauma.

  • How the intuitive nature of energy medicine and its benefits can calm the nervous system through trauma release.

  • How to pay attention to energetics in your home and body to tune into your intuitive feelings about your surroundings.

  • How to support your children’s health by surrounding them with natural elements and fibers. Supporting their sensitivity and relationship to their natural form.

Sarah shares with us how, traditionally, we are born with a feeling of needing to serve a purpose, without even consciously knowing it.

Those feelings can often be poured into surrounding ourselves with stuff and experiences. Feeling restlessness in your soul. Searching for the calming of your nervous system.

Bridging the realms of shamanism, energy healing, and everyday life can hold the key to the transformation that your heart has been craving.

My friend, please remember that we are worthy of pure, whole health. Our illnesses and our struggles and our obstacles do not define us, but that beautiful light from which we emanate from is our worthiness, where we find strength and self-love and over encompassing love.

Every day we see our own struggles and joy reflected back as we strive to meet their needs but not abandon our own. We are mommas on a mission to help our creative girls THRIVE. I am Lynne Niehaus, an Interior Designer, artist, momma, biologist, and space coach. I host this podcast for women who want to reconnect with their own magic, conquer the chaos, and support their daughters through the beautiful, but often choppy, waters of raising confident girls who can trust their own spark.
