let’s talk about traumaversaries, or, the anniversary of a traumatic event or experience. traumaversaries bring up a LOT for survivors. many of us experience overwhelming surges in their cptsd/ptsd symptoms: panic attacks, flashbacks, dissociative episodes, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, & SO much more.
every survivor experiences their traumaversary & our cptsd/ptsd differently ****&/also traumaversaries are almost always a profoundly painful, difficult, & isolating event we must endure every single year, without fail.
in today’s episode, i talk about how to support a loved one during their traumaversary. we go over community care plans, committing to specific supportive actions, & the many forms community care can take.
