Človeške družbe so se zaradi človekove končne narave od nekdaj soočale s smrtjo. In vendar v njih praviloma posebno in velikokrat tabiuzirano mesto zaseda tista smrt, ki nastopi, kadar si človek odloči sam vzeti življenje. Čeprav gre za izrazito osebno dejanje, pa se to vedno vpenja tudi v širšo družbeno resničnost. V različnih kulturah, kontekstih in časovnih obdobjih se pogled na samomor lahko zelo razlikuje, prav zato pa zgodovina obravnavanja tega dejanja jasno odseva tako vrednote in mišljenje kot tudi strahove in predsodke vsakokratne družbe. V tokratnih Glasovih svetov bomo govorili o tem, kako so na so na našem prostoru na samomor gledali in ga obravnavali od sredine 19. stoletja do konca 20. stoletja. Kako so to dejanje, prej videno kot greh in zločin, začeli obravnavati z bolj zdravstvene in sčasoma tudi družbene perspektive, kako so ga v nekaterih obdobjih tudi politično zlorabljali in kako so o njem poročali v javnosti, bomo govorili z dr. Meto Remec z Inštituta za novejšo zgodovino, ki na to temo vodi projekt Greh, sramota, simptom: samomor in njegove percepcije na Slovenskem (1850-2000). Oddajo je pripravila Alja Zore.
