In this episode I’m diving into the what, why and how of Histamine Intolerance, an emerging condition in women particularly, that can be aggravated when our hormones are fluctuating. With the inflammatory nature of histamine intolerance, it can be hard to differentiate this condition from perimenopause, autoimmune disease, allergies and other chronic inflammatory conditions. I go over the typical symptoms you’d expect to experience, and then we dive into what’s called the ‘metabolism’ of histamine, meaning, how it get broken down and removed.
Sometimes that doesn’t happen so we end up with too much in our bodies! Also I share recent research on high histamine foods and there’s one major culprit. Can you guess what it is?
Enjoy!

Grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy this episode of Well Woman podcast! Sonia Houria Rivas is an Integrative Inner Power Coach, breathwork instructor, spiritual guide, and founder of Women Make Waves—a movement helping women reclaim their courage, clarity, and connection through breath, nature, and ancestral wisdom.
Born by the ocean in France to a Tunisian mother and French father, Sonia was raised between cultures—between faith and resistance, the desert wind and the sea breeze. Her path took her from a high-achieving legal career in Europe to a soul-led journey of healing, catalysed by a surfing accident that broke her back—and opened her heart.
Today, Sonia blends deep inner work with practical tools, bridging ancestral knowledge with science-backed methods to help women rewire their mindset, regulate their nervous system, understand their emotions, and reconnect with their intuition.
Through The HOURIA Process, a 10-week transformational journey, she guides women to move through fear, rediscover themselves, embody confidence, and live in alignment with their truth.Whether she’s leading Surf Apnea workshops, facilitating shamanic breath ceremonies, or reviving ancestral traditions through food and ritual, Sonia’s work is grounded in the belief that healing ourselves is inseparable from healing our cultures and the Earth—and that true healing requires embracing all parts of ourselves.

In this hearty episode of Well Woman I’m joined by seasoned Art Therapist and Wellbeing Coach and author Deborah Devaal who shares simple and effective tools and strategies to help you deal with overwhelm and anxiety. There’s been a 25% in global anxiety since Covid, with mental health issues on the rise and everything from urgency culture to a four-fold increased risk of depression in midlife for women affecting us all, there’s never been a better time to get creative (literally!) with how we handle stress, overwhelm and poor emotionalregulation. Deborah shows you how to find that deeper connection to your true Self that we’re all craving. Her book published last year 'Social Freedom: The Path to Wellbeing’, a book that gives us the roadmap to creating positive changes in our lives and ultimately living fulfilled as the best versions of ourselves.

In this part 2 of my interview with Darinka to talk about Vedic astrology, known as “Jytoish”, meaning ‘The Science of Light’. This is one very deep, graceful, intelligent women and she’s here to shine the light on just how much we can learn from looking at our birth charts through a vedic lens. From health to wealth to past lives and karma, we had a fascinating chat with lots of insights.
Discover:
- How your birth chart is a reflection of YOU
- Why it's important to heal your Venus and Darinka's favourite Venus remedy to do just that
- and a whole lot of other fascinating intersections between astrology and body parts and systems
As Darinka explains, vedic astrology is more of a language than a religion or spirituality, and decoding that language has become a lifes passion for her. "It’s a window into a universal language/universal soul and it makes life more magical and beautiful."
Darinka Maja is a vedic astrologer trained by the renown Vedic astrology teacher and author Komilla Sutton. She has presented at several Fresh Talents International Vedic Astrology Conferences, run by her teacher, over the past few years.
Darinka offers a range of services including 1:1 consultations and personalised reports. Darinka is also a massage therapist and bodyworker offering kahuna, lomi lomi and remedial massage.
