When The Storm Hits: Guest Bijan Rafii
Healing and Hope for Men in Crisis.

When crisis, separation, or divorce turns life upside down, many men find themselves caught between silence and survival — struggling with identity, loneliness, and the weight of losing connection with their children. In this episode of Well Being with Ceejay Horrell, I’m joined by Bijan Rafii, Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Men and Families in York Region. Together, we talk about what happens when the storm hits — how men can navigate emotional crisis, find their footing again, and rediscover healing and hope on the other side.

Black, Whole, & Well: Guest Dr. Emmanuel Tabi
Redefining Strength, Joy, and Belonging

In this episode, I sit down with my friend and brother, Dr. Emmanuel Tabi — a scholar, artist, and educator whose work explores Black identity, community, and well-being through creativity and culture.

We have an open and honest conversation about what it really means to pursue wholeness as Black men living in Canada. Together, we talk about the pressure to always be strong, the hidden emotional costs of that expectation, and the quiet power of rest, joy, and belonging.

We explore how faith, purpose, and creative expression can become sacred pathways to healing — not just for us as individuals, but for the communities we serve and love.

This isn’t just a conversation about race or resilience — it’s about being seen, being human, and being well.

Mind Games
The Battle Isn’t Out There, It’s In Here.

Have you ever noticed how certain thought patterns keep you stuck in fear, anger, or shame? It’s almost like fingerprints left behind by a broken world that relentlessly tramples across our minds.

But there’s good news: our Creator invites us to break free from those patterns and experience real transformation through the renewing of our minds.

In this episode of Well Being with Ceejay Horrell, we explore why the battle is not “out there” but “in here” — in the way we think. I share my personal struggle with self-reward and rest, explain the difference between rest and reward, and walk through 10 common cognitive distortions with practical, biblical reframes that bring clarity and freedom.

You’ll discover how distorted thinking shapes your choices, how to uproot lies with truth, and how God’s Spirit prepares your mind for both present renewal and future wholeness.

Whether you’re wrestling with negative self-talk, struggling to show up for yourself, or longing for deeper peace, this episode will equip you with tools to anchor your thoughts in life-giving truth.

From Grief to Grace: Guest Renee Weekes-Parris
In today’s edition of the Pod my guest (Renee Weekes-Parris) experienced the sudden, tragic loss of her brother to suicide — a moment that changed everything.

Yet, through unimaginable pain, she found her way toward hope, healing, and even grace.

This conversation is not about answers or quick fixes. It’s about being real with the pain of grief, honouring the memory of a loved one, and discovering that even in darkness, light can find its way through.

If you or someone you love is walking through loss, I pray this episode reminds you that you are not alone, and that healing, while slow, is possible.

The Question Keeper
Life is full of questions, and some of the best answers come in the moment. Here, curiosity meets clarity, and every question has a place to be explored. Instead of me setting the topic, I’ll be answering some of the thoughtful and sometimes challenging questions by The Question Keeper.

These questions touch on relationships, faith, and health—the real-life areas where we all wrestle, wonder, and hope to grow. From learning how to love those who feel difficult to love, to understanding intimacy with God, to rebuilding life after divorce—this is an open, honest space for reflection and conversation. So, let’s dive into The Question Keeper.

Losing My Religion
What if losing your religion didn’t mean losing your faith — but actually finding it? What if stepping away from the rules, the rituals, even the community you grew up in, was the very thing that allowed you to finally see God’s love clearly? For me, those questions stopped being theory — they became my story. Because sometimes, the hardest part of faith isn’t believing in God. It’s untangling Him from everything we were told about Him. And when the rules, the traditions, the expectations start to feel heavier than the hope, something inside begins to break. But that breaking doesn’t have to be the end. For me, it became the beginning of rebuilding — not to walk away from God, but to walk closer to Him.

Surviving The Silence: Guest Dylan Balgobin
Some stories begin in silence — not because there’s nothing to say, but because the pain is too heavy to carry into words. In this episode of Surviving Silence, I sit down with a childhood friend (Dylan Balgobin) who endured abuse from someone who should have been a protector. What begins as a heartbreaking story of trauma becomes a powerful testimony of survival, courage, and transformation. Today, he’s a husband, a father, a government leader, a creative force in music and theatre — living proof that even the deepest wounds can lead to extraordinary purpose. This conversation is raw, real, and filled with hope for anyone who’s ever wondered if healing is possible.

The Sky Is The Beginning: Guest Loucretia “Luckey” Horrell
The Sky Is the Beginning
When God says go, it may look risky, but it’s never reckless.
Guest Loucretia “Luckey” Horrell

What happens when you leave a secure job—not out of ambition, but obedience?
What does it look like to live by faith and create a legacy?

This week, I sit down with my sister—a vocal powerhouse, arranger, producer, entrepreneur, and woman of bold faith. From our early days singing together to building her own music school and production company, her story is a masterclass in perseverance, purpose, and trusting God with the leap.

This one is for every dreamer, creative, and believer standing on the edge of the unknown.

Because when God writes the script, the sky is never the limit. It’s just the beginning.

Not Everyone Can Go with You
Learning Who’s for Now, Who’s for Later, & Who’s for Life

Some people are in your life for a season, some for a reason—but not everyone is for your assignment. If your soul has been tired from loving hard and getting little back, maybe it’s time to differentiate between those you serve and those you're meant to journey with. Healing begins with clarity. You deserve friendships that don’t confuse your worth.

The Road Back: A Story of Betrayal, Grace, & Reconciliation - Part 2
In Part Two of The Road Back, my guest Dr. Dionne David-Felix and I pick up where the silence left off and lean into the vulnerable work of forgiveness and reconnection.

What does it take to truly forgive? What opens the door to reconciliation after years of hurt?  And how do you protect a relationship once it’s been restored?

Together, we explore:
  • What made space for a second chance
  • The meaning of forgiveness in real-time
  • The turning point that shifted everything
  • How trust, boundaries, and spiritual growth helped shape the friendship we have now
This is a raw, hope-filled conversation about the hard, holy work of healing and the beauty of what can rise from the ashes.

Listen, reflect, and share with someone who needs to know that restoration is still possible.
