009: How to Get the Ball Rolling... (The Power of Momentum)

When I was young I learned the heuristic of Momentum. It was crucial in my efforts to walk with prosthetic legs, both literally and figuratively. Momentum can be a mysterious force. It's not visible or quantifiable, but its effects can be felt in daily progress or routines.

007: Well, this is awkward... (The Nocebo Effect)

I wanted to share with you a short, yet embarrassing fact about me. It was something that led to elucidating how the 'Nocebo Effect' worked in the psychological context. I also met a dog in the park called 'Opie'. He was pretty cute.

006: IGNORE your GOALS (Focus on what's in front of you)

There was a hidden lesson in relearning to walk. Freedom of movement is not the only outcome. It also taught me a valuable lesson about focus and staying the course.

When you are forced to focus on that which is right in front of you, you develop skills and proficiency, while being in the moment and appreciating the task at hand. As an added bonus, the finish line tends to appear much faster.

0:00 - Intro

Adapting to change can be difficult, and it's often tempting to adapt our environment to us, rather than the other way around. More often than not, I think this is a mistake. Here's why...
