Episode Description:

In this episode, Daryl Perry shares a look behind the scenes at how The Your Level Fitness Podcast connects with his broader podcasting work, including The Daryl Perry Podcast. Both shows follow a similar solo format, but with different focuses. The Your Level Fitness Podcast is centered around health, fitness, and an inside/out approach, offering practical and mindset-based takeaways for anyone on a weight loss or fitness journey.

Daryl explains that while this show serves as a go-to resource for clients and listeners looking for short, actionable insights, The Daryl Perry Podcast dives deeper into his personal experiences, reflections, and topics beyond fitness. It’s part audio journal, part self-development hub, and a place to get to know more of who he is beyond coaching.

He also shares that with multiple podcast formats in motion, he’s consolidating his “almost daily” podcasts into one consistent feed. Still, this archive of over 200 episodes remains a valuable library for anyone building sustainable health and fitness habits. Whether you’re listening in 2025 or years down the road, the lessons here remain relevant to your journey.

Daryl invites you to explore both podcasts, check out the self-paced YLF resources, and reach out directly to continue the conversation.

Episode Description

In this short reflection, I want you to pause and give yourself credit. Credit for how far you’ve come. For not giving up when it got hard. For continuing to show up even when progress felt slow or invisible. We spend so much time looking for what’s missing that we forget to acknowledge everything we’ve already done.

This episode is a reminder to recognize your effort in real time. To stop tearing yourself down for what hasn’t happened yet and start noticing the small wins that stack up. You’re building something, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.

Take a few minutes today to look at your journey so far. Every choice, every attempt, every restart—it all counts. You deserve to give yourself credit for staying in the process.

As we wrap up twenty twenty five, I want you to pause instead of sprinting toward a new year reset. This is the time when so many people flip the switch on January first, only to find themselves burned out before spring. I do not want that for you. I want you to build something sustainable and calm from the inside/out.

In this episode, we take a moment to reflect. I walk you through looking at what has worked for you this year, what is currently working, and what is not working. Reflection is not about judgment. It is about gathering information so you can make steady adjustments and keep moving forward. No giant reset. No all or nothing. Just real progress built on awareness and honest assessment.

This is how lasting change happens. This is how you build your forever active lifestyle. So take a breath, review your year, and decide what you want to continue and what you want to shift as we head into twenty twenty six. Email me your thoughts and what you are adjusting. I want to hear from you and support you.

Thank you for listening, and I will talk to you again soon.

Episode Description

Today we get tactical with two basics that change everything. Water and produce. I walk you through a simple checkpoint system that rides along with the meals you already eat. One serving of produce with each meal. Water early and often. Start your day with a glass. Use a bottle you will actually carry. Track by bottles, not by perfection.

You will hear how I build my day. Five eating windows, a smoothie that sneaks in spinach and frozen berries, and a multivitamin to help fill gaps. We talk why produce works. Vitamins and minerals for fewer calories. More volume. More satiety. Pair that with steady water intake and most people feel less hungry.

We keep the goals realistic. If you drink sixteen ounces now, the next target is twenty four. Then thirty two. Work your way up toward one hundred ounces. I share how three thirty two ounce bottles gets me close to a gallon, and why starting early makes the rest automatic.

Cravings get airtime too. If a food owns your head, you can take the upper hand by removing the novelty. Eat a reasonable portion daily until the urge cools. We talk about why cheat day rituals keep the thrill high and how inside your routine the thrill fades. You keep your power.

We zoom out on industry noise. Deadlines and transformation promises create panic. Habit based coaching is better, yet the engine underneath matters most. Build from a calm, deliberate headspace. Choose confidence now while you work your plan. This is the inside/out path that lasts.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I ask the question that matters more than any meal plan, workout split, or step goal. Do you really want to change your life, or are you just staying on the diet ride you already know.

You have probably spent thousands of dollars over the years on programs, challenges, supplements, apps, and coaching. You have probably said I am starting over more times than you can count. You already know how to lose weight. You already know the rules. You already know how to grind. The real question is, do you actually want to build a forever active lifestyle where eating and moving your body is just part of who you are.

Because you can. You absolutely can. You already have the ability to do it. You can work at your own pace using self-paced tools. You can get guidance and coaching support if you want it. The structure exists. The question is, are you truly ready, or are you still finding a certain comfort in the diet roller coaster.

A lot of people say they are tired of starting over, but they are still attached to the cycle because it is familiar. The weight loss industry is built on keeping you one or two thoughts away from jumping back in. A bad angle in a photo. Seeing yourself in a mirror. Catching a smell that takes you back. Feeling behind for two seconds. You are always being pulled back into insecurity and urgency because that keeps you buying.

This conversation is about stepping off of that and deciding what you really want your life to look like. Not your next challenge. Your life. How you talk to yourself. How you move. How you eat. How you carry yourself.

If you are truly ready to do this for you, you can absolutely build it. If you are not ready yet, that is actually okay too. But you need to know your answer.

Episode Description

It is Halloween, so we are talking about candy, but this is way bigger than Halloween. This is about how you handle every quote trigger food in your life without guilt, without shame, and without feeling like you are about to lose control every time you eat it. I want you to hear this. If you want the candy, eat the candy.

In this episode I explain why restriction is not the answer and why you cannot out logic emotional fear around food. You might be telling yourself that certain foods are off limits because you think that is what you are supposed to do on a weight loss plan. You might even be trying to convince yourself that you do not actually want the thing you obviously want. I am telling you to stop doing that to yourself.

I walk you through a process that sounds scary at first, but will change the way you relate to food long term. Buy the candy. Eat the candy. Keep eating it every day until you get to the point where it is not even that special anymore. When you allow yourself to have the quote bad food without sneaking, without punishment, and without a rebound plan to quote fix it, you take its power away. You build trust with yourself. You learn that you can have these foods and move on.

We also get into why most fitness and weight loss plans actually keep you in fear. A lot of coaches tell you that you can never have certain foods again, and they dress that up as lifestyle. But you do not like that lifestyle. Most of them do not even like that lifestyle. They are either trying to get you fast transformation results at a high price point, or they are scared of those foods themselves. I want something different for you.

My goal for you is a forever active lifestyle that you actually enjoy. Not white knuckling. Not rigid on and off rules. Not living in fear that one slice of pizza or one Reese pumpkin means you blew it. You should like how you eat. You should like how you move. You should feel like you are in charge of your life, not the program, not the coach, not the scale, not some all or nothing list of allowed and not allowed foods.

We also talk about why you cannot just stack habits and try to out discipline emotion forever. If you never work through the emotional charge around a quote off limit food, you will eventually end up face down in that food again. Could be months from now, could be years from now, but it will happen, and when it does you will call yourself out of control and go right back to restriction. I want you to break that loop.

You are allowed to enjoy food, including holiday food. You are allowed to go all in on your goals and still eat something fun. You are allowed to build your process around your preferences. That is how you build something you can actually do for the rest of your life.

I also invite you to email me and tell me what candy or food still feels off limits, and what your Halloween costume was. Yes, really. I want to know.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I talk about what it actually looks like to try to love and appreciate your body and yourself as you are right now, while you are still working on things like weight loss, strength, health, and routine.

You are going to have those moments where you look in the mirror and immediately start tearing yourself apart. You are going to have those waves of negative thoughts where you feel like you are not enough. That does not mean you are failing. It means you are human.

What you are learning to do is notice it. Whether it takes one thought, fifteen thoughts, or seventy five thoughts to catch it, the moment you realize you are dragging yourself, that is when you figuratively hit the brakes and redirect. You say, wait, that is not who I am. Then you start talking to yourself with the same support, patience, and protection that you would give someone you care about.

Most of us have spent years chasing confidence from the outside. If I just lose more. If I just lean out a little more. If I just build more muscle. If I just fix this one last thing. But anyone who has done that game knows there is always another thing. So instead of waiting until you become some future version of yourself to feel proud, you start building that relationship now, at your current stage, with your current body. Past you, present you, and future you all deserve respect.

I also share why I aim to be in a calm headspace about eighty five percent of the time. That gives me permission for the other fifteen percent to just be messy, frustrated, emotional, honest. And instead of thinking that means I am off track, I see it as part of the process. I can say, this is one of those fifteen percent times. I can sit in it, feel it, and then come back when I am ready. That kind of honesty is how you build an inside/out approach that you can actually live with.

You are already winning this battle every single time you choose to pause, give yourself grace, and redirect back to appreciation. You are not weak for struggling with body image. You are strong for staying in it and continuing to build a better relationship with yourself.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I go deeper into one of the simplest but most powerful nutrition principles I’ve ever learned — addition before subtraction. Before you start cutting out foods or restricting yourself, focus on what you can add. Add more nutrient-dense foods. Add water. Add balance. When you start there, everything else begins to fall in line naturally.

I also talk about a question I’ve asked coaching clients for years: “How’s that working for you?” This one question can completely change how you look at your weight loss process. If what you’re doing is bringing you both results and happiness, you’re in the right place. But if you’re hitting your goals and still feeling guilt, shame, or anxiety about your choices, then it’s time to rebuild your foundation around your preferences.

Your preferences are your puzzle border — they’re what hold everything else together. When you build your eating, movement, and mindset habits around who you actually are, instead of what you think you should be doing, you create something sustainable for life.

I also open up about how my own journey with cerebral palsy shaped how I view fitness and body image. For decades, the industry has told us to fix ourselves, to chase someone else’s version of “fit.” I’m telling you to do the opposite. The real change happens when you remove the guilt, stop chasing perfection, and learn to enjoy the process of taking care of yourself.

This conversation is about rebuilding your foundation — physically, mentally, and emotionally — and stepping off the weight loss roller coaster once and for all. You already have what you need inside you. Now it’s time to build from there.

Episode Description

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast I walk you through some simple nutrition tips that you can always fall back on. No hacks. No perfection pressure. Just practical steps you can try today even if you feel like you cannot get a handle on eating.

We start with slowing down. I talk about how taking three deep breaths before you eat can pull you into the moment so you are actually present with your meal, instead of rushing and inhaling the whole plate in fifteen seconds. I also explain why I take my first bite and chew it for about fifteen seconds. Not to be fancy. To set the pace for the entire meal so I am not stress eating on autopilot.

We also get into some super tactical additions you can make at almost any meal. Add a serving of produce. Fruit or veggies. If you eat bigger meals a couple times a day, try one to two servings with each plate. If you eat more often, work it in where you can. Over time, those little additions add up and you might find yourself regularly eating five to seven servings of produce in a day. Which puts you ahead of most people, honestly.

Then we talk about water. I am not telling you to stop drinking caffeine, soda, diet soda, any of it. I am telling you to drink water in addition to what you are already drinking. When you do that consistently you naturally start choosing water more often without forcing it. I also share one way to get ahead on water first thing in the morning. Drink water before your coffee. Even one glass. Stack that habit early and it makes the rest of the day easier.

The bigger idea here is addition instead of subtraction. Add water. Add produce. Add presence. When you build your foundation around what you are adding instead of beating yourself up over what you think you have to cut out, everything feels more doable and more sustainable for life.

I want to hear what works for you. Email me at daryl@yourlevelfitness.com and tell me your go to meal or mindset trick that helps you slow down, stay present, and feel in control around food.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, Daryl dives deep into the conversation around body image, self-perception, and the emotional ties we carry throughout life that shape how we see ourselves. Body image is more than what we see in the mirror. It’s how we internalize years of messages, comparisons, and societal standards, and it directly impacts how we approach our weight loss and fitness journeys.

Daryl breaks down why there’s no room for shame—body or otherwise—in your active lifestyle. Instead, he challenges listeners to replace self-criticism with compassion and daily actions that reinforce appreciation for their bodies. He discusses how emotions must be respected, not ignored, and how logic and emotion can coexist to create a more balanced, sustainable relationship with health and fitness.

You’ll also hear Daryl explore how fitness culture often misrepresents “consistency” and how marketing preys on insecurities by promoting unrealistic standards. He shares personal insights on reframing accountability, separating it from self-shaming, and redefining consistency so it fits your life.

Ultimately, this conversation is about creating a forever active lifestyle built on love, not guilt. You’ll leave with a mindset shift that reminds you progress starts by deciding to stop shaming yourself and start celebrating small, meaningful wins every single day.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I talk about how your personal philosophy shapes everything about your fitness journey. The way you think about food, exercise, and mindset drives your actions, and those beliefs spill over into every part of your life. Whether you’re a coach, a client, or simply someone working on your health, being aware of your own philosophy—and the philosophy of the people you follow—makes all the difference.

I share why my personal and coaching philosophy always comes back to calmness, deliberate action, and building consistency as a skill. When you base your plan on preferences, it becomes easier to sustain. The goal isn’t just weight loss, it’s developing a mindset and lifestyle that you actually enjoy for decades to come.

You don’t have to earn self-belief through results. You decide to believe in yourself first, then let your actions reinforce that choice. Fitness is about building a calm headspace, finding joy in movement, and creating a sustainable rhythm that fits your life.

Episode Description

In this episode I talk about slowing down the pace of content across Your Level Fitness and why that matters for both you and me. For a long time, I’ve been publishing almost daily. But as I’ve been telling you, our mental and emotional well-being connects directly to how we consume information and how we manage our time. The flood of content out there is overwhelming, and I want to model what it looks like to be intentional with what we consume and create.

I share how I’m scaling things back starting this weekend, including the podcast, blog, and even the daily emails. This isn’t about quitting or pulling back from the community. It’s about creating space for reflection, giving thoughts time to catch up, and focusing on the core YLF message of living from the inside/out.

You’ll hear me talk about how habit structures still matter, but flexibility does too. This shift is all about balance, presence, and sustainability, both in fitness and in life.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m talking about why I focus more on mindset and headspace than on tactical eating and exercise tips. There’s no shortage of programs and influencers out there who tell you exactly what to eat or how to train, but the truth is, that kind of advice often misses the point. Your mindset drives everything you do, and until you work on what’s happening inside, the external stuff won’t stick for long.

I share why most of the content I put out is designed to get you thinking differently about your approach to fitness, food, and life. It’s not about following another strict plan or chasing someone else’s routine. It’s about learning to enjoy the process, being honest with yourself, and approaching your goals with optimism and self-compassion instead of criticism and guilt.

You’ll also hear a little about my latest local project, the YLF cookie, and how it connects to the same philosophy I coach — enjoying what you eat, having fun along the way, and finding balance in your day-to-day life. I also talk about therapy, journaling, and the daily emails I create to help you build consistency from the inside/out.

If you’re looking for a mindset-first approach to health and fitness that feels grounded, honest, and sustainable, this one’s for you. Because the truth is, you don’t need another plan. You need a mindset that allows you to build one that actually fits you.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m talking about how to figure out what actually works for you on your weight loss journey. There’s no universal formula that fits everyone, no matter what exercise science or nutrition experts say. The truth is that your life isn’t lived in a lab, and what works for one person might not work for you.

If you’ve been on this journey for a while and feel like you’ve never fully “got it,” this conversation is for you. We’ll talk about why building a foundation around your personal preferences is the real key to lasting consistency. When you start with what you enjoy and can sustain, you’ll get better results and find it easier to maintain them.

I’ll also break down the basics of what I believe applies to everyone — balancing resistance, endurance, and flexibility training while eating nutrient-dense foods and drinking enough water. From there, it’s all about shaping your own plan and learning how to be consistent through practice, not perfection.

This episode is your reminder that you’re the architect of your health journey. Once you build your foundation, you can train like an athlete, eat like one, or simply live in a way that feels right for you. It all starts with figuring out what works best for you and sticking with it long enough to see results that last.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, Daryl talks about a different approach to weight loss—one that doesn’t require you to “get used to being hungry.” Instead of forcing yourself to follow restrictive plans that leave you miserable, this episode helps you focus on building a sustainable eating structure that works for your real life.

Daryl shares how to find the most food you can eat while still losing weight consistently by dialing in your meal frequency, hydration, produce intake, and protein targets. He explains how these factors not only keep you full but also set the stage for long-term success—decades, not weeks.

You’ll learn how to balance satisfaction and progress without guilt or anxiety, how to track your weight trends over time instead of obsessing over weekly fluctuations, and how to trust yourself to make adjustments when the time is right.

If you’re tired of hearing that hunger is part of the process, this episode is for you. You’ll walk away knowing that you can eat well, feel satisfied, and still make progress on your weight loss journey while strengthening the most important relationship of all—the one you have with yourself.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I walk you through why the victories you celebrate and the opportunities you notice matter just as much as the actions you take. Fitness is simple on the surface — eat in a calorie deficit, move your body consistently, manage your schedule — but what makes or breaks the process is how you view yourself while doing it.

For years the fitness industry has told you to dislike your body now so you’ll change it later. But that mindset leads to constant self-criticism and a tug of war you can never win. Instead, the shift comes when you start seeing every step forward as a win. Whether it’s choosing not to snooze one extra time, hitting a workout, or showing up for yourself in the middle of a hard day, these are victories worth recognizing.

I share why reframing your journey from a place of self-love and appreciation makes all the difference, and why the YLF philosophy is all about rewriting the story the industry has handed you. As someone living with cerebral palsy, I know firsthand that loving and appreciating the body you have is a choice you can make daily. Join me in choosing to see the victories, connect with yourself, and build a forever active lifestyle that feels sustainable and enjoyable.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast, I’m breaking down how to shift your headspace around eating, exercise, and self-perception. Living an inside/out life begins with observing your thoughts without judgment, naming what you feel, and then reframing the story you tell yourself. This process isn’t about perfection, it’s about practice, patience, and consistently reinforcing new beliefs.

We talk about how to identify thought loops, disrupt patterns that hold you back, and build the skill of responding differently to old triggers. This is hard work, but it’s also the path to creating calmness, control, and confidence in your weight loss journey and beyond. I also share why therapy can be a powerful tool for untangling these emotions, and how this mindset-first approach connects to every other part of your life.

You’ll walk away from this episode with practical steps to observe, name, and reframe your thoughts, and a reminder that you are capable of building a well-worn path toward self-belief and lasting change.

In this episode of The Your Level Fitness Podcast I dive into the connection between habits, motivation, and the core beliefs you hold about yourself. Your beliefs drive your actions, and your actions shape the results you see not only in weight loss but in every area of life. If you have been stuck in the start and stop cycle that the fitness industry often reinforces, it is time to look deeper at what you believe about yourself.

I share why building a foundation of consistency around your preferences is the key to making this sustainable. From how to reframe setbacks, to why consistency is a skill you can develop, to how habits eventually reduce the mental tug of war, this conversation will help you move forward with less pressure and more clarity. I also talk about the role therapy can play in untangling the deeper layers of self-image and why loving and appreciating yourself at every stage is the only way to truly win the long game.

Whether you are just starting out, coming back after a setback, or even in maintenance but still struggling with how you feel about yourself, this inside/out approach will help you trust yourself and continue building a lifestyle you can actually enjoy.
