Tree Equity: NUCFAC project, research scientist at SUNY-ESF, urban and community forestry workshops, high potential communities

In this episode, the Urban ecoMaster introduces the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council (NUCFAC), a 10-year urban forestry action plan for urban environments, was created by the 1990 Farm Bill to bring together the wide variety of voices raised about a common concern: the present health and future preservation of America's urban forests. NUCFAC was founded to synthesize the full spectrum of views into a consistent vision, as a foundation for practical policy on urban forestry and related natural resources.

Dr. McDermot explains his role as a research scientist on the NUCFAC project in conducting urban and community forestry workshops in Syracuse, a project that targets High potential communities called Tomorrow's Neighborhood Today (TNT) neighborhood unit.

Dr. McDermot highlights the need to become ecologically conscious of our environment of dwelling, playing, and working. This is important to better prepare our communities and our families for the projected heatwaves, drought, floods, and disease and viral outbreaks as climate scenarios worsen. He implores residents to become environmental stewards and repair their neighborhoods by planting trees to fill empty spaces that would otherwise produce heat, hold water, or harbor insects.

Please continue to follow the conversation in episode 3.

S1E21. 20 mind blowing predictions for 2030 and beyond.-
In this episode I share 20 predictions for 2030 and beyond that are highly likely to be fully implemented. As we are locked down much of the active commercial, telecommunications and governmental infrastructures are being upgraded with the 5G technology. The United States of America is rolling out the technology at lightening speed as they are behind countries such as China and Russia. We have seen the role of the media in fear-mongering, disinformation, and distraction during the coronavirus pandemic, in countries around the world. Many third world countries’ prime ministers and presidents that cooperated with the Big coronavirus payout deal will seek to force vaccinate its most vulnerable citizens such as elders, immunocompromised, pregnant, and uninformed. The vibrant column of the workforce age group (16-45 yrs old) will erect this new community economy that will scale up and help to bring the economic shift in third world countries. It is a time when more young people will go into agriculture and product development, real estate, stocks and cryptocurrency, telemarketing, e-commerce and logistics, robotics, and dig deeper into your innate abilities to survive. Strong black men will have to couple with more healed black women to build strong families in the homes and communities. Marginalized black women, single black mothers and children, and young female work force are suffering from an incoming unplanned she-session. We must find away to help our women and children. S1E20. Garlic 🧄- everything you need to know for health and well-being- Jamaican natural Penicillin
Garlic uses are dated back to ~ 2700 BC in many cultures and countries around the globe. Garlic finds its way into many Caribbean and Jamaican diets, cuisines and medicines. Many Jamaicans prepare garlic differently and for different reasons when they use the herb. One of the most inappropriate ways to prepare and use garlic is by cutting it and using it right away or directly adding it to heat. Swilling it whole can also influence the formation of the compounds the effect therapy to the cells of the body. In this episode, myself, Alexa, and Kerrian talk about the powers of garlic in the kitchen, how it should be prepared, therapeutic benefits, use as a glue bomb and poultice, and many more. Correction in the conversation: allicin in whole garlic is converted to alliin with enzyme allinase when chopped, broken or chewed. 1SE19. Black women are failing in the Kitchen - 20 superfoods for health and wellness
I am of strong views that women born after 1980 (modern in culture, lifestyle and mindset) have forgotten the traditional practices, values and norm, heritage, and way of life necessary for them to be fit home makers and caregivers when they become wives. Of course, there are cultures of women who did not get the baton of wife traits passed from their families to them as children. There are also another group of women who think the pre-modern way of life has not place in today’s western world where women are career oriented, and independent. It doesn’t stop there as a small group of women merged some of the pre-modern training and modern way of life in an effort to not lose the indigenous knowledge and practices, but to have that competitive edge over traditional women. What most women don’t understand is that that are the primary caregivers, doctors, and nutritionists for the family. Women forgot their role as the Mary Seacole for their homes. Most modern women that can cook usually prepare meals with fake foods, incorrect combinations of ingredients, and unhealthy ingredients. I talk about 20 basic superfoods that should be in every black woman’s kitchen especially if she has a family and man in the home. These superfoods are alkaline foods or alkalizing foods. Superfoods counteract acidic conditions in the body to maintain health and effect healing. Please let me know what are some of superfoods you you have in your kitchen. S1E17. 15 curses of the testicles and sperms in marginalized modern men
In this episode, Papa Skalla shares fifteen (15) curses of the testicles and the vital life force (semen and sperm cell) in men, particularly black men of the west.  The western matrix has pushed onto us a shifted lifestyle characterized by monogamous family structure, dead food diet, post traumatic slavery syndrome, religious confusion, historical indoctrination, poisoned ecosystem, radiated homes and communities, xeno-estrogen based foods and personal care products for sex conversion, many fake diseases and disciplines when there is a single source of all dis-eases (inflammation/mucus leakage), the 9-5 work system that was designed by Ford motor working class to work people to death, urbanization that peels away the green spaces and contaminate the blue spaces, common human stress grid,  The inhumane conditions of the west largely negatively impact the health and well-being of Black and Latino people in the west. This harsh working conditions and unhealthy communities where people reside create a life of stress, anxiety, depression, and ill-health that suck the life force out of your manhood and the virility of your essence-- decline in manliness, this is what leads to marginalized masculine males and the lost of macho men. The underlying cause of a decline in the male essence is due to the birth (from cursed wombs) of beta males, emasculated males, and unidentified males from parents (acidic sperms and wombs) suffering from emotional, generational, and spiritual traumas wrapped up in their karmic essence. Acidity in the body comes from increase concentrations of free radicals and reactive oxygen and nitrogen species due to all 15 things discussed in the podcast. Increased acidity can lead to enlarged prostate glands, desensitized penis glans, and small testicles leading to infertility, erectile dysfunction, and loss of manhood (facilitate fatherhood to children). All black men should seek therapy, part take in healthy relationships, become polygamous instead of promiscuous, refrain from sexual intercourse at early ages, promote good posture, reduce stress/ avoid stressful situations, rehydrate more, eat real food and practice a natural lifestyle, more rest, avoid chemicals, hang with high value men, become more grounded, and detox more often to REGAIN and MAINTAIN their full masculine and sexual virility in the west as sperm counts drops, and vitamin D, zinc, selenium, and iodine deficiency continue to rise. 1:9. Food and Medicine- Poultice compressor: castor oil
Covel McDermot shares 10 amazing benefits or uses of Castor Oil from the Castor bean plant (Ricinus communis) continuing the episode on Food and Medicine- Poultice.  The plant is wildly grown in Jamaica and in harsh soil conditions and now seen grown in salty soils.  Castor oil is extracted from the castor bean plant by using a commercial extractor or homemade. Castor oil production is lucrative business today and its demand will increase significantly in the US and Europe. While India is one of the largest producer of castor oil in the world today, Jamaica has some of the most potent genotypes of the plant growing across the island. The ricinoleic acid quality in the bean is influenced by climate and soil patterns in the tropics where the plant predominantly grows. Seal level rise, climate change, and human development and settlement will challenge the plant's capacity to adapt and mitigate to environmental perturbations and trade-off impacts on medicinal plant properties and composition is lagging in the literature with current global change scenarios.  I hope you listen, comment, send us a message, and call in some day to discuss with our listeners.  Follow us on IG@the_skalla_show and subscribe to our YouTube @Twi Fwi Network.

In this episode I talked about the term "poultice", the definition, examples, poultice applications, and the need to revisit traditional practices to treat and cure diseases our families can come down with. I interviewed Alexa Edwards from Jamaica. Alexa is a young farmer, educator, mother, and wife. She was raised by her parents and grandparents and watched them used different poultices to treat and heal the wounds and inflammations from playing. Alexa and I talked about onion's application as a poultice in the home to treat ear ache, nose boil, and cough syrup.  Poultice is a cheap, convenient, and DIY practice of remedying yourself and children in the event of an emergency and you are unable to get to a hospital.  Follow us in IG@the_skalla_show and subscribe to the YouTube channel @Twi Fwi Network.
