Neil Harbisson is the first legally recognised cyborg in the world and has an antennae attached to his skull which perceives light frequencies from infra-red to ultraviolet and converts them to sound vibrations in his head. Neil creates music and art exploring identity, human perception, the connection between sight and sound and the use of artistic expression via new sensory inputs and has given a Ted talk about his project. Neil is pushing the limits of the brain and providing himself with an extra sense to work with. He can connect to the International Space Station and hear the light frequencies that are in space as well as have frequencies sent directly into his brain. He is also developing a project to use a heat source orbiting his skull once per day to alter his perception of time. Jasmine is Deputy Editor of Free Movement - a blog providing immigration asylum law updates and training - as well as a Non-Practising Solicitor with a Masters degree in Public International Law and Human Rights. She is a founding member of Samos Volunteers, a non-governmental organisation providing psychosocial support to refugees and asylum seekers in Greece. She also serves as an adviser to a UK based refugee charity. Jasmine has spent a lot of time working with refugees in Samos, fighting for better living conditions and a quicker route towards asylum. Today we talk about the refugee crisis, humanitarian work, police brutality, Samos Volunteers and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is now completing his PHD in Physics and his research spans the area of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics. sophia is a forensic psychologist by training, a spoken word poet by choice, and an olive farmer for fun. She has always been fascinated in understanding the human mind and specialised on the topic of aggression prevention during her studies and prior work. She left her job in academic teaching to delve deeper into her passion for creative writing and performing as well as community-living. Now her work is especially informed by humanistic and holistic psychology as well as mindfulness and compassion practices. Rosana Corbacho is a clinical and humanistic psychologist who specialises in mental health support for the music industry. She tours with DJ´s and Musicians to offer Psychological support. Her passion for this led her to found M.I. Therapy.  Her practice focuses on treating addiction, anxiety, depression and other disorders as well as personal development for both music creatives and other people in the music industry. Rosana has been invited to talk and hold workshops at Berklee University, Primavera Sound, Mutek, ADE, and BIME to name a few. Todays guest is Daniel Clegg. Daniel is a Martial Arts practitioner with black belts in both Judo and Tae Kwondo and now he is working up the belts in Jiu Jitsu as well. Daniel left his life in the UK with a yearning to escape mundanity and search for new opportunities. On a very limited budget, he cycled to Greece for the Olympics and became used to sleeping outdoors. He then spent 4 years living on the streets in Paris where he pursued artistic dreams and hustled for survival.
