Welcome to The Myohacker Podcast. I am your host, Karindy Ong. I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist specialized in myofunctional therapy and the mom of two who has learned through clinical and personal experience how to get clear as we navigate decisions related to airway health. I am on a mission to educate families without the overwhelm so that our children can grow, eat, breathe, and thrive. Join me each week as we explore the crucial connection between how we breathe, swallow, eat, speak and sleep. We will discuss how these functions affect us holistically and discuss the why and the how of airway challenges. From tongue ties and tongue thrust, we unpack questions from parents to clarify what a whole-body approach to treatment and wellness means. Myofunctional therapy isn’t just about correcting a tongue tie; it’s about restoring balance and function to the body. Together we will discuss: -How airway issues like mouth breathing can affect our health -At-home strategies to support airway tone and development -How myofunctional therapy can improve orthodontic outcomes and prevent issues like relapse -The mind-body connection to airway health and why a holistic approach is essential Through personal and clinical experience as a holistic airway provider, I bring you practical insights, interviews, and real-life case studies to show how a myofunctional approach can bring growth, life, and wellness where you have been stuck, confused, and ill. Each week I’ll share resources, mindset shifts and hands-on strategies you can use to start making a difference. Tune in to The Myohacker Podcast today! The Myohacker Podcast: Answering Parent Questions about Airway & Myo Health
21: Please Secure the Airway with Nicole Archambault, EdS, MS, CCC-SLP, CYMHS, CSSC
Are we truly connected with our children, or is modern life pulling us apart? In this episode, Karindy Ong and Nicole Archambault discuss the importance of emotional connection, body awareness, and the parent’s role in fostering resilience and regulation. Disconnection is becoming more common, leading to emotional struggles in children and families. Nicole shares practical strategies to strengthen bonds, regulate emotions, and create a safe space for growth—both in therapy and at home. Before we establish changes in nasal breathing, oral rest posture, and sleep, we must establish connection. This episode will leave you feeling empowered and hopeful.
